This Hotel might be a deal, but it has a bunch of negative qualities. Customer service is ok. Room had small mini fridge and it seemed that they try to cater to you but this hotel is not very well taken care of. It is located in a bad neighborhood. So my wife was uncomfortable and she wanted to leave. We ended up leaving without staying the night. Paid a bit more to stay someplace else, but it was worth it. The motel was decent enough to spend the night in. My 3 friends and I stayed in a two queen bed room. The room was clean and had cute decor. Pros: - 1 mile away from the Gas Lamp so taxi fare was super cheap and your a few blocks away from the trolly (though I wouldn't recommend walking there as you'll see in the cons) - Polite hotel staff - They offer […] continental breakfast - The room was clean - The room prices are cheap! - They have a laundry room - They have wifi - They are literally right off the 5 freeway Cons: - The neighborhood isn't the nicest. Hotel was not as decribed, not accomidating at all. Special request were made and i even called to confirm that they were recieved and available and we arrived nothing was available and description was totally off point. Rooms were dirty and dingy paint was chipping and beds were hard as a rock. Not in the best neighborhood

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The room is old and musty, I was scared I might get bed bugs. The neighborhood was the absolute worst! There were hookers hanging around and the walls are so paper thin you could hear everything they were doing at all hours of the night. Bad choice to stay here. The price was fair. A MTS bus stop was in front of the hotel. We were able to spend all day in the water front, without looking for parking. The mattress was too firm for our taste and vehicle traffic was on the noisy side. The staff was very cordial and helped us quite a bit.

Spacious room. Housekeeping wasn't great though. They were very friendly but not very efficient. I was there for 5 days and had to use the same tiny piece of soap until I asked for new ones on the 4th day. They never replenished the coffee in my room unless I asked them to. There were a few sloppy things such as; the bathroom door had been replaced (apparently quite a long time ago) and was never painted. The price was VERY reasonable and I felt I got a lot for my money. I would recommend it and I would stay there again if traveling to the area. I had a conference to attend and this inn was cheap and very close to the convention center. I was skeptical given the other reviews but my room was very clean and the staff members were friendly in assisting me with logging onto their free wireless internet. The surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy but I didn't have any problems with it.

the neighborhood was terrible, the "continental breakfast" was a joke, there were not enough towels and room service was unable to bring additional towels, the electric plugs in the room were faulty, holes in the walls and exposed wiring in the bathroom ceiling.

This is a great value for the budget minded travler. God location, close to freeways and not far from downtown.

Cheap hotel. I thought it was through hotels.com and i would get a great deal... I booked the hotel and paid for a deluxe king bed fro 5 days but when i reached there at night on day 1 they told me that they got a fax from hotels.com for 2 queen rooms - we said we can't accept since we booked a deal and we have our confirmation number. So they said […] sorry we have no room you can have it tomorrow- then they sent us to a smoking room which was unbearable since i am allergic to smoke. Then they put us in a queen bed for the day and when the next day i went to ask for our King bed they said we' d have to wait until someone checks out... so we had to carry our luggage 4 times up and down the hotel and through the corridors we had no help from them then at night when one day we got late and our key wasn't working - we went to the reception there was no one .... we called out several times , rang the bell 15 times but still nothing. It is so far the worst experience we have had in hotel accomodation ever. The first night we hardly slept because of the noise of traffic(our first room faced the street). We then changed to a room at the back of the building. No noise, but we woke up with bed bug bites all over our bodies. We have taken pictures of all the damage done to our skin by these bed bugs. Talking to the manager was a futile attempt, as he could not mutter a single apology, and was quite indifferent to our complaints. He obviously knew this was an existing problem. the hotel is clean and confortable just no bars or resteraunts within walking distance would not recommend walking to the gaslamp district not the best neiborhood

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It smelled horrible, there was numerous bed stains, and the carpet was dengy. It is overpriced for what you actually receive.

Close to customer base. However, parking is tight.

There was no wireless on rooms and the parking lot is really small and crowded.

This hotel is super close to the convention center. We stayed 2 nights and it was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is a little run down, but not dirty. We really appreciated the free wireless internet access. It made doing business and keeping up with email easy while away on business. I will use this location again!

Close to downtown ballpark, and all other attractions, rooms were quite small and very basic

This hotel is right on the interstate but we were on the back side so we did not hear any traffic. The parking lot is extremely small and is hard to park in. The breakfast had a choice of 2 cereals and milk that had sat on the counter for who knows how long , they had just a few pastries and watered down juice. We had a no smoking room that stunk like […] cigarettes and had burn marks on all the furniture. The neighborhood was old and run down with homeless people camped out nearby. It was the worse hotel I've ever stayed-in; 1/ The mattress are actually "DUCKED-TAPPED" from all of the 4 sides, and I have the pictures with me. 2/ The internet SUCKED, we have to call them 10 times to finally get it to work. 3/ We stayed there for 7 nights, they've never changes the bed sheets. 4/The towels are OLD and have weird smell and stings […] on them. the hotel in san diego was clean and comfortable but the neighborhood was rough, the was a street fight right out side my room at 2:00am and the police didnt show up until 3:18 am not a good nite sleep.

It was ok. The curry smell in the lobby was a bit disconcerting and the amount of time it took to get the clerk out could have been better. But overall an uneventful trip.

Located on the edge of downtown, near somewhat some industrial and shelter facilties, the room was clean and comfortable, with a small fridge in need of defrosting, analog TV, microwave & coffee maker . . . . About a 15 min walk to PETCO Park and the Gas Light District, comp. breakfast at 7AM (which is later than others), on the 11 bus route, and about […] a 8 min walk to the MTS Trolley at Barrio Logan. Not a bad hotel. Service was friendly, room appeared clean but lower quality. Area surrounding is seriously ghetto. Friends, I am a pretty easy going person. I only require modest accomodations at best to satisfy my lodging needs. This hotel, was, by far, THE WORST place I have ever stayed in my life, bar none. I had a job interview in the morning...on my first night, I had to leave in the middle of the night to find another place to stay so I could get some sleep! […] (Kudos to the Ramada in Clairemont, btw...) My room was on the first floor, the bed was so lumpy I thought there was a person under the covers!...There were very loud people that live around the hotel and ones staying AT the hotel. You can hear every car, go by, not to mention the constant car ALARMS and assorted sirens. The windows are single pane and RATTLE with the slightest wind.This hotel is located under the freeway...need I say more? Yes, I do...The next day, I went to the front desk and explained what happened. The attendant did not even apologize. I was going to check out and stay elsewhere,but it was Memorial Day weekend...nothing was available. I asked for another room, on the highest floor, away from the parking lot. The bed was not lumpy this time...just hard as a rock! And you could still hear everything...I had to go to the store and buy earplugs. Visited San Diego mainly for seaworld and this hotel is about 15 mins away from seaworld so pretty good. It is also very close to gaslamp district so someone who wants to party wouldnt mind this place if you just need a good room. The location of this hotel is not in the best neighbourhood which is rpetty rundown. But the room was very nice, very comfortable […] nice tv. The only problem with the room probably was the auto-lighting. These are motion sensitive lights which were completely random as to when they would turn on and off. The hotel was clean and quiet. Less than a 30 min walk from the convention center w/ free parking. Which is what i was seeking. My only regret was the "continental breakfast". Well, it left a little to be desired. So don't expect much from the breakfast and you'll do well. This place was extraordinary convenient if you are going to the baseball game, that's about it. The room was spacious, working microwave and fridge. The shower was a little beat up but what can you really expect for the price .80 from petco stadium. The hotel check in lady suggested we take the trolley instead of walking. The hotel was a bit rundown (my room had minimal lighting due to a broken lamp), bed not that comfortable, but it was cheap and convenient and sufficient for a brief stay in town for a convention.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel when I checked in. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and I enjoyed the extra touch of having a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. We were very close to downtown and right on a bus route. Great value for the money. Really nice people working there.
