Clean reasonable good location , very happy with everything except breakfast really really do need 3 waffle irons one just don't get it had to wait at least 15 minutes one morning for our childrens breakfast . We were not happy neither were the children . Will consider another location on our next trip down

the employees were very nice, however they had to deal with some uncomfortable situations, the hot tub water was cold, and maintenance was called 2xs but it was never corrected. As weather was cool this was a big inconvenience to us. Also we got there around 1pm but could not check in til 3pm, that never happened to us before at a hotel. The girl at […] the desk did call us as soon as room was cleaned so we were able to check in a 2pm. "Not all it's cracked up to be"
First off, we arrived early and were not allowed to check in (although the person just ahead of me was allowed to). They do have a sign that states early check-in/check-out available for an additional fee, so I figure that's why. They did give us a parking pass and have a common area bathroom, so we were able to change and go to the beach, but it would […] have been nice to be able to get into our room upon arrival. Really more our fault than theirs. Our stay was midweek and my husband needed access to work, but their internet was down. We were not told this upon check-in but rather when my husband was trying to get online and unable to do so. The free breakfast was lacking: they offer it in a small room that is unable to accommodate the number of guests, but there is a sign stating not to bring any food back to the rooms! They also have a tiki bar, but of course it was not open during our stay (yet the menu for drinks is nicely posted in the common area to make you drool). They boast indoor and outdoor pools, both of which are very small. With two families at either, it is overcrowded. There was also trash (paper, hair balls and the like) floating in the indoor pool - blech. The beach access is great and there seemed to be plenty of parking. The rooms were comfortable, but they don't make it clear that "sound side rooms" do not have a balcony, which makes it difficult for drying beach worn wet clothes and towels. We were able to secure a very reasonable rate so the accommodations were acceptable. However, I saw a very high rate (more than twice what we paid) posted for this hotel on another hotel booking website, and if we had paid that, I would have been extremely disappointed. They also need to update their binder of local information in the rooms, as I went on a wild goose chase searching for an Urgent Care after my son turned ill, that had moved from the in-room posted location, more than a year prior. "The hotel is right on the beach"
This hotel was a great find for us. We have a dog and they have pet friendly rooms with a balcony and great ocean view. The people who worked at the hotel we very nice and accommodating, We will definately be back.
Everyone was very nice . We were there in the off season and had a hard time finding a place to eat. luckly there is a grocery store in the area and a working microwave in our room. My wife and I had a very romanic dinner in the balancy. Thanks for a great start on our vacation.

Great place, the beds are so comfortable. We got the oceanfront room, very nice. The only thing we didn't like was the water pressure in the Shower. Everything else water wise worked really well. I think they just need new shower heads and that may make a hugh difference. "Clean, convenient, comfortable - no water pressure"
This hotel is located on Ocean Isle and very convenient to surrounding beaches. It appears to be fairly new and very clean. The pillow top mattress was comfortable. Generous continental breakfast (waffle maker, cereals, pastries, bagals, frozen sausage biscuits, instant oatmeals/ grits, yogurt, fresh fruit). "VERY GOOD STAY"
This was a great deal for the price we paid. We enjoyed being right on the beach, having two pools to choose from, having convenient parking and a spacious room.

This is an older hotel, but it was great to be able to walk from our room right on to the beach. We enjoyed their outdoor swimming pool too. We also liked the fact that beach stores & some restaurants were within walking distance. We found our room affordable, and we would stay here again.

Very Clean inside and outside. Bed one of the best for a hotel.
Clean. Friendly workers,location was excellent could walk to most locations. Loved the indoor and outdoor pool, view as beautiful. Continental breakfast was very nice and kept clean. A little more counter space would have been nice, but that was the only thing that was small.

Stayed in a beachfront room from june 20-25, 2011. Very nice hotel, nice convenient amenities. Very pleasant breakfast in the morning before you hit the beach. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. Front desk staff probably least friendly of all but they did their job.

If you want a quiet beach setting, then this is the place. The island (OIB) is mostly residential/rental. There are very few commercial establishments, and most of those close after the season ends. The hotel is between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, a little over 30 miles to each. Calabash is only 10.5 miles away giving you great options for seafood, […] though there are many closer places to eat. There are grocery stores within a few miles and a multi-screen cinema in Shallotte, about 8 miles away. Our only complaint is getting to the room. The hotel is made up of 7 buildings, with 2 floors of rooms in each for a total of 10 rooms per building. The elevator is in building 2, and we were in building 5. We had to haul our stuff through each building that was in between with a door on each end of each building. "Fishermans Friend / Beach Bomb"
Very poor location with very little choice for restaurants, shopping. Room was much to be desired. Oceanfront room had a tiny balcony and only a window to view the ocean from the inside. Smelled of smoke/pets. Over-priced for what you get. More of a fishing type accomodations rather than beach fun.
"Lovely gettaway but don't expect breakfast"
We loved our stay, however, we thought we were getting a light breakfast. They serve from 7 to 10 in the morning. We showed up at 9:15 and it was all gone. We came earlier the next morning and all they had were english muffins and Activia. It was dissappointing for such a lovely hotel.

I was only there for one night but I was very pleased with the hotel. The location is great, right on the sand as described. Pleasant room with a very private small balcony overlooking the pool and on out to the beach. Only very minor criticism would be that it would have been nice if the windows onto the balcony opened. My family and I just spent three lovely nights at the Islander Inn, Ocean Isle, NC. We were very pleased with the ocean front room with its balcony, and comfortable beds, as well as the convenient wet bar w/refrigerator . I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, not-crowded, non-commercial, beautiful beach vacation. This was everything I was looking for. I usually travel to the Myrtle Beach area, but no more. I plan on making this hotel part of my annual routine. Thanks!

The roomw were very clean and very comfortable. The furnishings were very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was generous, and very well planned. The breakfast room was open, with nice views of the ocean. The hotel was a pleasant surprise considering what one encounters at the beach. Thankd-you for a nice stay.

I loved the area as it was very quiet and not commercialized. The inn was nice. Unfortunately, the heater broke for the indoor pool and hot tub while I was there. Overall, it was a positive experience.

"Nice for the Price"
The hotel room and staff are wonderful. However, they forgot to pick-up our towels (in the bath tub). This tells me they didn't clean the tub out when they cleaned the room. Other than lazy housekeeping staff, the stay was great!

There are no exceptions to the 3pm check-in time. We arrived early and had to go find something to do for an hour so that we could check-in. The room was overlooking the beach and the pool. Everything was beautiful. The spa inside was green and smelled gross though. The outside pool was fine though. The shower had very little water pressure and the […] temperature would change constantly no matter which setting you had it on. The continental breakfast was the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. They had the normal cereal and bagels but they also had breakfast sandwiches and waffles and many other foods. They did not lose or misplace my reservation, it was ready to go when I got there, however, they did poorly with the accuracy of what I requested and paid for.
