Hotellihuoneessa ei ollut kasvopaperia eikä vesipulloja, kuten kaikissa muissa hotelleissa. Mietimme, onko 4 tähteä hieman yläkanttiin verrattuna moniin 2 tähden hotelleihin. Ero käyttämiimme hotels.comin 2 tähden hotelleihin ei ollut ihna niin merkittävä.

Napa’s downtown sports an open-air shopping mall, a renovated opera house, upscale riverfront developments, and wine-tasting locales. The popular wine train chugs through vineyards and past the scenic town of Yountville to St. Helena.

The room was large, clean and had all the assessories we needed. The front desk staff could not have been any nicer. "A bit outdated, but good value in an expensive are"
Pros: Very clean, very friendly, very safe, right off route 29. Room came with mini-fridge, coffee maker, continental breakfast/coffee. Cons: Outdated furniture (who really cares?), and the bedding wasn't the most comfortable, but it was adequate. The Inn was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was in a quiet location and window overlooked our car in parking lot. The beds were saggy and the pillows were too flat. But we had a quiet night and good nights' sleep.

It's not a "spa" but it's a much more pleasant exterior and lobby than bargain motels, with a nice little pool are. If you want a hang around hotel in Wine Country it's not meant to be that, it is a pleasant place to sleep that is the most convenient location I've found for Napa are wine touring.

We had a great stay at the John Muir Inn on 11/28/12. The room had everyting we need, coffee maker, refridge, microwave, ironing board. Even a one burner stove top if we wanted to cook anything. It was a short drive to Yountville for wine tasting and to downtown Napa for dinner. We enjoyed the hot tub when we got back from dinner which was open till […] 11PM, which is later than most places. The hotel is very nice for the price. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Napa, this is a really good choice. They have a pool and a spa. The John Muir Inn was, clean AND affordable, right in the heart of the Napa Valley. Nice quiet area. Close to downtown Napa and Yountville/St. Helena/Calistoga. Very friendly and professional staff. "It'll do"
Cute lobby. Rooms are a nice size. Bed could be more comfortable and the bed spreads are the old gross kind. I've never stayed somewhere that told you what not to do so much. Don't leave the door open when you shower - it may set off smoke alarm. Don't use towels to take off make-up. Don't take towels out of the room. They have a thing about their towels. […] They do provide you with other towel like things to use. And the continental breakfast was bare bare minimum. Mini muffins/old bananas/other not so great fruit. But, if you're touring Napa and want a decent rate and place to sleep, it's ok. They have a picnic lunch that is offered from a local restaurant but you have to give them 48 hours notice. Very clean room, friendly staff, perfect location for traveling up and down St. Helena pkwy. Make a stop at the Bistro next door and have a bottle of Biale Vineyards' Black Chicken Zinfandel.

A nice clean and comfortable place to stay . Less than half the price of the fancy places less than a half mile away and so much cozier and friendlier.

"J. Muir Stay"
The first thing I noticed was the odor, a very bad odor. Then when taking a shower I noticed the vent fan worked, but no air was being moved. The mirror was fogged over heavily when I got out of the shower and the bed is way too hard. I would not recommend this hotel for any stay except in an emergency.

"Close to wineries"
Our stay at John Muir Inn was average. It is a fairly non-descript hotel. Rooms are not particularly attractive though clean and well kept. Mattress was not very comfortable - stiff. Pillows are small and soft. Not a good choice for anyone with any back problems. Continental breakfast was mini muffins, yogurt, fruit, oj, and coffee. "Everything you need...nothing you don't"
Decent place. Very courteous and helpful staff. Showing its age, but nice. Continental breakfast adequate. Convenient location. Check out the Go Fish in St. Helena for great food with outdoor dining.

Very nice staff, very accomodating. The owner/manager was very eager to help and friendly with the customers. The pool is small, but clean and nice.

"Good value for the money"
This is an older property that has incorporated upgrades over the years. The room is a typical room but also has micro and frig in a separate area outside of the bathroom. Napa is very expensive, and I'd say the John Muir Inn is a very good value for the money.

Fairly priced, Friendly staff, clean room. Convenient location. On the downside, the ads and in-room literature indicated a continental breakfast was included and it isn't- all that was offered was a 10% off coupon at a local eatery.

They used to give you a breakfast voucher for Marie Calenders, but they closed a week ago. Now they have a few tiny muffins and coffee for their "continental breakfast". They will also give you a voucher for Fume restaurant around the corner for a 20% discount but Fume is open 10am to 2pm for brunch nit breakfast. "John Muir Inn was a nice place to stay"
John Muir Inn was very clean and comfortable. The day we arrived, Marie Calandars Restaurant adjacent to the hotel closed. The hotel had an arrangement with them for breakfast, so that was a negative. The hotel was a little out of date, but still comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay there.

Hotel is as described, we were in the area for 1 day escursion for Wine Tasting - Receptionist gave us early entry to our room, which was great, Fume Bistro is one block away - the food and service was without compare! the Best Pork chop I ever had.... and Creme Brulee to die for.

"No frills in a great location"
My wife and I stayed at the John Muir Inn during a long weekend trip to Napa. We knew we'd be out and about for the whole weekend, and really just wanted somewhere to stay that was reasonably priced and convenient to the area, and this hotel fit both those criteria wonderfully. The hotel itself is showing some age in its rooms, but our room was clean […] and everything (shower, hair dryer, television, cleverly hidden refrigerator) functioned perfectly. The air conditioner didn't seem to work very well, but it wasn't very warm while we were there and it didn't affect us. Other positives about this hotel are the breakfast and the desk staff. Breakfast takes the form of a voucher for the Marie Callendar's restaurant that shares the hotel's parking lot; the voucher gets you either a continental breakfast consisting of a HUGE muffin, fruit, and orange juice, or a $5 discount off their regular menu. The versatility of breakfast was really helpful for us since one day we had time to sit in the restaurant and order from their menu, while the next we were crunched for time and opted for the muffin and fruit to go. The front desk staff was polite and helpful, and even went so far as to put together a packet of information on area wineries, including a sample itinerary and free/discounted tasting coupons for some of those wineries. We didn't use many of the coupons, but the map and other information (including area restaurant recommendations) was really helpful in planning our adventures. Of course the main benefit of the John Muir Inn was its cloe proximity to the most popular areas in the Napa Valley. It proved to be the perfect home base for our long weekend of exploring some of what the valley has to offer without costing us money that we instead spent on food and wine. If you're looking for a reasonbly priced, no frills hotel to lay your head while exploring the Napa area, you should consider the John Muir Inn. Lisätietoja

"John Muir Hotel in Napa Valley, CA"
The customer service was fantastic! John was very friendly and helpful. The lobby was quaint~ nice fireplace. The rooms need to be updated but were clean and comfortable. the lower price helped us overlook the 80's color scheme.
