The Durley Dean Hotel - Bournemouth

One of the more attractive hotels in the area. Glad we decided to stay there. Hotel is a very old building (Victorian) but is maintained well, although there is some room for improvement. Loved indoor pool, good for beach! If you booked room only (Breakfast was 8-12 pound per person at the hotel!) There are a few other places to eat breakfast close by. My 8 year old son said "The hotel was very nice and the lift doors camouflaged with the walls".

perfect location, just a short walk away from the town centre and the beach. Situated on a busyish roadabout/road, so its a bit noisy at night, however we were so pleased with the location that it didnt matter. This hotel is just far enough outside the town centre to be quiet, but VERY close to the beach. Even though it's situated on a busy road, we did not hear cars at all. Only downside is there's a 115 step walk down to the beach, which is fine on the way down, but hard work on the way up! Between the hotel and the steps to the beach is a peaceful grassed […] area. The pool at the hotel is very small, but all the times we went into it, we were the only ones there. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - food is OK, but I would suggest eating out (it's cheaper). Pleasant well maintained comfortable hotel with helpful & friendly staff. A good range of choice on the breakfast menu and evening meals. The hotel is 5 mins from the beach, with a variety of restaurants in the local area and the town centre within close vacinty. There is a small gym and swimming pool in the hotel. A definate recommendation.

Staff weren't helpful enough. Location is not great, long steep to go up and down to the beach. Would recommend hotels near west cliff.

While the hotel was pleasant and the staff very good, our room was one of the smallest doubles I have seen. We roughly measured it and it was about 7 foot by 10 foot and with a most compact bathroom - the bath mat filled all the space. I asked for another room and they only had one at the back, dark and with the fire escape across the window. They showed […] me an exec. room with an extra charge. Also there was no room left in the car park so you need to check this. They did store equipment we did not want to leave in the car in their office. Went to this hotel with my friends for a weekend getaway to the beach. The hotel rooms are in nicely done up, spacious and clean. The staff are also very friendly. Hotel location is excellent, it is barely a 5 minute walk from the beach - and a very short drive to the main bournemouth town centre where all the bars are. We actually stayed here to […] visit sandbanks and found that this was at most a 15-20 min drive from our hotel which was very convenient. Overall a nice hotel close to all nearby attractions. Great location just a short stroll from the beach and pier. However, the double bed in the ground floor room we were given was very uncomfortable. Seemed like they had joined 2 single bed bases and thrown a double mattress on top! When you stay in a hotel comfort is key not just the location! Booked this hotel for the location, price and the fact that it had free parking. As it was only for one night we didn't worry too much about the quality of the hotel, so we were very happily surprised when we arrived. The hotel reception was very impressive and the room, although in the basement was big, really comfortable and clean, We didn't use the […] pool but it looked clean and the qym was well equipped. Location was great for us as we were heading for the town centre which was a 10 mins walk, two minutes in a taxi. Would recommend this hotel to anybody. Lisätietoja

Very nice reception and greeting. The room was lovely and large. The mattress was a bit old and we rolled together a bit. The tap in the bathroom dripped. The breakfast was terrible for the price. Tasted like everything was made 30min prior and was hard and dry when we got ours (only took 5min to serve us.)

you get what you pay for at the Durley hOTEL. sOME AREAS HAVE BEEN MODERNISED OTHERS FADED AND TIRED. bUT THE SERVICE WAS GOOD AND WE COULDNT HAVE BEEN NEARER THE SEA AND THE TOWN.

We stayed in a cheaper room, and the room was large, but quite old fashioned. The mattress was not too comfortable. Hotels.com informs that there is a free wifi in the hotel, but it wasn't true. It wasn't easy to find a parking place. The hotel is quite close to the centre and the beach, which is nice.

We had a two night stay in mid-October. The Durley Dean is a comfortable and relaxed place to stay with a calm ambiance. The room was well appointed, the bed just soft enough and the bathroom clean & big enough - no lock on the door but you should know when it is occupied. One guest had a slight accident and I was very impressed by the way the hotel staff, from the barman on, leapt straight into action. Well done The car park is small so we parked on the road outside without problems. The hotel itself is on the cliffs, so it is quite a steep, but short, climb up the main road on the 10-15 minute walk into the main town. The clifftops are close by for panoramic views. Unexceptional hotel but competitively priced, good value and very conveniently located with central Bournemouth in easy 5 minute walking distance away. Alternative walk along top of West cliff to pier is attractive with great views to sea. Car parking in town is very difficult so this place is convenient to leave your vehicle for whole of your visit […] to Bournemouth. Excellent breakfasts with nice variety. The single room I stayed in was small, the bathroom was tight, the room had no air-con and was starting to look a little shabbie. No air-con in the hot weather meant I did not have a pleasent stay. The service was good however, and I have no experaince of any other rooms in the hotel, which may be different to the one I stayed in.

Staff very friendly and helpful, communal areas of hotel nice. However l did not have a refurbished room. It was very small, old fashioned and the mattress was so lumpy l had to sleep on the floor on top of my quilt !! It was clean though can't complain about that. Also no where to park my car! The Durley Dean is a great, Victorian Hotel in a great location, a 2 minute walk from Bournemouth Beach.The whole hotel has a relaxed, welcoming feel to it. Staff were helpful when required, friendly and with a smile on their faces. Breakfast was good for both us with a good range of the usual breakfast fare on offer.coffee from a machine at breakfast, […] although it wasn't that bad! There is a car park on site, although it is a little on the small side - we got their early and found 5 or 6 spaces there is a free parking available on the streets around the hotel. we did have a problem with our room,we were given a room on the lower ground floor(basement which was very grim) we dropped our bags and walked to the beach and Bournemouth centre when we returned i used the wash basin but as i let the water out of the basin ,dirty water came up through the bath outlet,i rang reception and was told to go and pickup a key for another romm ( this is now 9.45pm) i collected the key and was told that this would be a family room ,when we repacked and opened the door to room number 2 it was a twin bed room,again called reception this time the girl came down with 2 more room keys ,my wife viewed the rooms and chose one,the view from the room was a wall as we were in the basement so i cannot comment on any of the upper floor rooms. i fell that these rooms should not be used for guest at all as it does give a grim impression of the hotel Lisätietoja

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a refurbished room which was very nice but I can't comment about what the other rooms are like. The location was great - only a couple of minutes walk to the beach.

It was conveniently located, easy to find and within comfortable walking distance of the lovely beach and town. The staff were very friendly & helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and breakfast.

Dans l'ensemble hôtel agréable avec piscine. Quelques réserves: Wifi très cher, insonorisation insuffisante (extérieure et intérieure), petit-déjeuner cher.

Het is een goed hotel wat prijs kwaliteit betreft het enige min punt was het ontbijt op vrijdag ochtend het was heel sumier waardoor we voor de zaterdag en zondag niet hebben geboekt. Het Viel ons op dat deze dagen er bij het ontbijt ineens een kok achter het bufet liep. Maar al met al een prima hotel waar ik nog wel een keer terug zou gaan.

Leistung/Preis stimmt! Wir sind für 5 Nächte da geblieben und es war sehr gut! Der Hotel, ein Altes saniertes Gebäude dass eine neue Renovierung verlangt, aber liebevoll gut gehalten. Die Lage war ganz gut, sehr nah vom Strand und in der Nähe des Dorfzentrums wo es sehr viele Einkaufs Möglichkeiten gibt! In die Gegend des Hotels, gab es sehr viele Hotels […] und Restaurants. Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war sauber, frisch und von der Grösse gut, aber leider ohne Minibar (mit Kindern braucht man immer frisches Milch in der Nähe). Das Bad war klein aber ganz i.O. Was ich schade gefunden habe, ist dass der Schwimmbecken nicht so toll war… Immerhin das waren die entscheidungspunkte unserer Buchung, das Zimmer und der Pool. Der Pool war sauber, aber benötigt dringend eine Renovierung gleich wie die Garderoben und den Fitnesszimmer. Lisätietoja
