Castle Waikiki Grand Hotel - Honolulu

I found this hotel online and liked the reasonable rates, and that it was at the end of the strip next to the zoo and one short block to the beach. I found out once we arrived that each room is VERY different than any other room. I booked two rooms, at the exact same time, both were rated as having a kitchenette, and street view. One room was tiny, […] the fridge/freezer was approx 2 feet square, with microwave just big enough for one plate. No sink and tiny counter. It came fully stocked with 2 glasses and blue plastic silverware that stained your hands if you touched it. The sink in the bathroom was a single pedestal with no counter. The "bathtub" was more like a shower stall, perfect for a toddler to stretch out in. The "view was of an alley/parking lot and 2 stories above several loud large commercial AC units running 24/7. The AC for our room was a tiny unit that hung out the window in the corner. The tiny balcony had been enclosed with sheet rocked and a window that doesnt open leaving a huge pillar in the middle of the room. Be careful with your towels and make your bed because house keeping comes every 3rd day. I think the single bed must have been a double? The closet was just deep enough for a pair of shoes On the positive, it did have a small desk with free wifi. Yet, my friends room was much bigger, had a full size fridge, large kitchen area, decent size microwave, and a balcony with bistro seating overlooking the actual street, zoo and a sliver of beach area! I think they even got a queen size bed, all for the exact same price! So if you dont like your room, ask if there are any others to choose from! Oh, if you like hamburgers, the 50's style burger place in the lobby has some of the best burgers I have ever had, and are huge. Walked in the room, smelled stuffy and stale, killed 3 bugs, rusty tub, paint chips off the toilet seat, a head board from the bates motel, no sheet on the box spring, springs sticking out of the matress.... we didn't even stay the night. Checked out after 10 minutes. SICK!

The room itself was fine, good view, good location. The bed was awful, terribly uncomfortable. Invest in a new mattress!,

The location of this hotel was great, the lobby was nice, the view from the 10th floor was fantastic and the price was right. Yes, the hotel rooms need updating and a bit of maintenance but the price was right. Plus, I didn't go to Hawaii to hang out in my hotel room. Great Location, impressed with the service, i liked the zoo was next door , the beach was 1/2 or less block away. nice bar on second floor of Wakiki Grand, everything was within walking distance. i was very happy with my stay. Hotel could use some updating, if you are not too picky or into being a little rustic, the place is perfect.

It means the hotel has some rooms with balconies, not all rooms. My booking was stating "room with city views"... so I was expecting a room with balcony and a city view. I had only a run down alley view. It was pretty sad!

This hotel was perfectly located right on the beach next to all attractions. The room was very nice as well as the service we experienced.

The clerk was very nice and polite beyond that the hotel left much to be desired. First of all there was no sign designating where to park and no attendant to direct you so you would have get out of the car and ask the clerk then you would have to drive all the way around the block about 3 miles to get to the parking lot. The room was not clean, the […] floor was dirty. The water in the big bathroom never got hot. The shower in both bathrooms didn't work properly. There were no screens on the windows so you couldn't open the windows. The AC unit was in one part of the room so the other part of the room was not cooled. The hotel was very convenient to all the things we wanted to do. It was very close to the beach. The only thing was no one came in to clean our room or to give us clean towels the 5 days we were there. We had to ask for clean towels which the front desk clerk gladly gave to us. This hotel is VERY good, & convenient. it's 30 seconds from the bus stop & many stores surround this hotel. will definitely stay here again.

Don't let the name fool you, it is anything but Grand! Our room was very small, the phone did not work, the shower head was missing and the place smelled like fresh paint. After talking to the receptionist she relocated us to a better room(up-grade) there was a kitchenette but no phone, which could be a good thing. While not a beachfront property, this hotel is almost in front of the Waikiki beach. great location, close to shopping and right across the zoo. The room was phenomenal, designed for comfort and long stay in mind. A nice little futon couch with a little living room table, very elegant. Comfy bed, and a fully stocked Kitchen. Location was central and handy to shops, beach, parks. The hotel definitely is in need of a makeover/maintenance in addition to the rooms. The room I was in had some problems. The shower head and tubing was leaking water each time you turned it on. The maintenance from what I had seen was re-enforcement of the leakages with duct-tape (Hmmm?!). Therefore […] water stream strength was not ideal to have a proper shower. Main light bulb in the bedroom hallway was not working when I had arrived at 8pm - so was super dark. TV and Air-con remote both did not work as well. The hotel reception people were helpful. Would I recommend this hotel, I would for the fact of handiness to the beach, shops and park. DO NOT STAY HERE!! We had cockroaches in our room everyday and the hotel staff told us that this was "normal" because it's Hawaii. We checked out early and went to the Aston down the street - WAY nicer and cleaner. Do not stay here... it's not worth your money or time! Also on a side note - it's LGBT friendly. I have stayed at this hotel 5 times now over 5 years. I wont stay anywhere else. I love the convenient location - 2 minute walk to waikiki beach. Handy to bus right opposite the honolulu zoo and waikiki beachfront strip. With great views of diamond head also. Most rooms have a kitchenette if you are on a budget. Famous Hulas open air bar occupies level […] 2 of this 10 story hotel. If your not happy with your room for whatever reason the staff are happy to offer alternatives. Waikiki Grand Hotel is close to everything we need to see and do. Hotel sersice is great front disk receptionist she is very helpful and nice. Everthing is good except the bed in the hotel is alittle bit old its not comfortable, I reserved two rooms the other no phone but not big deal, the second floor restaurant are noisy. Where do I start . First off we did not get side-by-side rooms, as per requested. The bathroom was too small my husbands shoulders hit both walls while he was brushing his teeth. The so-called kitchenette,the coffee maker didn't work, told the front desk 4 times to replace the coffee maker. Didn't get the towels replaced often enough. The pool needs a hand rail put on the step down to the pool, it is a major safety hazard, especially for older people. Oh, unless I asked we were unaware that the front desk had pool towels for you to use. The in room booklet says the front desk will cash travels cheques, but they don't. The garbage men come way too early. It is not well known that this is primarly a condo-owned facility, but I feel for the few rooms that you do let out that diffenately could be in much better shape, I guess you get what you pay for. You get for what you pay, I stay here for 9 days to attent to a big event close by. Location was perfect, beach 1/2 block away. zoo right across, restaurants/bars very close too, but the only thing I was not too happy about was that my room was too small, it had a nice kitchenet but just two steps away from my bed, big shower, but small bathroom, new […] counters, no closet so not enough room to store clothes, or anything such as my laugage, only few shelf, was very inconvinient speciality if you are staying more than a day. The unit itself was fine. decent sized flatscreen TV, A/C unit was quiet and effiecient, bed comfortable & premisis was clean. Needed to be more sound proof because Lulu's bar & restauarant was clos-by and some patrons were loud (11 PM and later). Returned to hotel at 3:45 PM and there was a new desk clerk. He assigned me to a room. When I got there, the maid had just started cleaning it! I mentioned this to the new desk clerk and went to starbuck's to kll some time until the room was ready. I was tired and wanted to crash. I would not recommend this 'place' nor will I stay here again as this is not a hotel. There are absolutely NO services offered unless you stay for 5 days or more...then there is a one day cleaning service offered. The Castle Waikiki Grand is a condominium complex and some of the 'owners' rent out their units but do not provide daily towel exchange, […] linen exhcange nor any other maintenance serivice unless your stay is longer than 5 days. The "Waikiki Grand" units are managed by "Castle" Management Company but do not provide hotel services. Being in a beach location there's a great need for cleaning due to sand, salt and all the accompanyments that come with beach life. Amazing location, safe and relatively quiet street. Sundeck on 10th floor is amazing. Easily arranged an airport shuttle for us. Will stay again.

the location of the hotel was great... the hotel pool was closed, which wasn't a big deal because the beach is across the street. the room was ok, a very small "studio" with very little room to unpack our belongings/move around, but the balcony was nice. decent hotel for the price based on the waikiki location.

Expensive, dirty and no parking.

Rooms were much nicer than expected. I was a little upset because I had 4 people on my reservation and my mother only had 2 people on hers. We paid exactly the same price and both made our reservations through hotels.com and we checked in at the same time but for some reason their room was twice the size of ours! Not very smart planning there!! But […] overall, nice and comfy. We were stoked that there was a microwave in our room, although my parents room had a full kitchen and cable. Not really a full service hotel. Things you normally take for granted are missing, like daily maid service and coffee makers in room. They tried for techno chic in the room's decor, but didn't pull it off: painted concrete floors, halogen track lighting, glass table and sink, skinny black chairs. some reviews I read about this hotel were not very good before I booked with them this month. I had lived in the area before and knew the location was perfect. Right outside the lobby door and across the street is Honolulu Zoo(one of the best!). Located almost at the corner- across the street that way is Waikiki Beach(world famous sunset!). The bus […] stop, 2 to be exact are right outside the open air lobby doors.I strongly recommend you experience what "real Hawaii" looks like and take the bus everywhere, all over the island. We stayed(me and my 3 daughters) in#1002, its on the top floor and off your front lanai to your left are the mountains, to your right is the ocean, and from you bedroom is the city view! It was pretty much perfect. our room had a full kitchen w/o oven and every utensil you could imagine. It was clean and pretty well updated with stone tile floors and shower. New appliances and best of all....The housekeeping is not bothersome! We never once got woke up by a maid trying to come in and clean at 8am- actually never ever crossed paths with them at all. This hotel is set up so every room is a studio and different. This one had an ocean view and was a nice day. The grand location is perfect.

This is a condo hotel. what I like is the rooms are all different. It's a great place for one to two people. Each room is like a little studio, and it's very close to the zoo and beach. Also, very nice staff.

とても古いホテルのようですが、内装は新しく、とてもきれいでした。サンデッキからの眺めは最高で、ダイヤモンドヘッドがパノラマでみることができます。個人的にお気に入りのホノルル動物園にも徒歩30秒ほどで行ける場所で、満足でした。一点気になるのはシャワーとキッチンの水の流れが悪かったことです。他は問題なしのホテルでした。

Meget lav standard. Gulvtæppet var meget beskidt og der lugtede dårligt i værelset. Det tilhørende køkken er en parodi. Der er gryder, pander mm. men ingen kogeplade. Et hotel der kunne trænge til en gennemgribende renovering.

シーツ交換は３日に一度のみ　タオル交換もなく　３日の滞在だったので予備のタオルを使ってしのぎました。 ゴミ箱が小さくすぐに一杯になりこまりました。コンドミニアムなら、捨てるところがあるんですが… 部屋はＬ字型の内側の角、窓の前は廊下が向こうに続いています、なのにカーテンは壊れていて上が垂れておりさらに短く閉まりきらない　つまり廊下からはいつでも私の部屋が少し見え続けていました。 冷蔵庫が大きく　大抵のハワイのホテルの冷蔵庫は冷えが悪いのですが、よく冷えてミネラルウォーターを凍らせたのをもって出かけたら、いつまでたっても飲めませんでした。 部屋はエレベータの前で近くていいのですが、うるさかったです。予約の際の案内では広い部屋のはずでしたが、かなり狭かったです。 バスタブがありましたが、あまりき […] れいではありませんでした。 駐車場は１２時で閉まってしまいます。夜中に帰ってくると面倒でした。 １階にはテディーズビッガーバーガー２階にはおかまバーがありにぎわってます。となりはABCストアでした。 Lisätietoja

Location, Location, Location!!! This might not be the best hotel in Honolulu, but it is quite good. and the location is, to my experience, the best in town!! Just meters from the beach, and near everything else! The front desk guys where excelente! Highly recomend this hotel.

今回は２歳の長男と８泊したのですがホテルからはビーチが近く朝・晩と散歩がてらに何度も行けよかったです。 動物園や水族館にも歩いて行き朝一で入り、午後は部屋に戻り休憩できました。 キチネット付き、シティービューの部屋に滞在しましたが広さも使い勝手も十分でした。 スタッフも他の滞在者たちも（長期滞在者が多く犬を飼っている人も数人見かけました）みんなフレンドリーでした。

Bra mellanklass hotell som är nyrenoverat med eget kök, utsikt över waikiki beach, Honolulu zoo, diamond head. Läget enligt mig är det bästa i hnl 3 minuter att gå till turistkommersen men andå ett lungt läge i slutet på Waikiki där stranden är som bäst.
