Starlux Hotel - Wildwood

What a great place, the employees are great and helpful. Close to boardwalk. The atmosphere was great, pool was warm and clean. Great to have bikes that were available and be able to grill. We will be staying again.

Clean, comfortable and funky hotel that is affordable and SO close to the boardwalk and ocean! You can hear it from your balcony. It's like stepping into an episode of the Jetson's or maybe Love American Style (for those of you old enough to remember LOL!) Loved it and it will be my go to place for the Jersey Shore! The staff we met were all very polite […] and so helpful. They answered your questions before you could ask them! The pool was clean, warm and inviting. They put fresh water in the hot tub and we spent a few hours enjoying it. The bikes! Yes they offer guests bikes for FREE to ride on the boardwalk. We stayed at the hotel for business and my husband and 2 kids came along. It was a great location, 1 block from the boardwalk & 'Wildwoods" sign and in walking distance to restaurants. The hotel room was very small, but we just spent the night there. Having a microwave and fridge were great with 2 small children. For the price and location we can't […] complain. Also, it was great to have the little breakfast nook in the morning. The Star Lux is a DooWop Motel, and it lives up to the genre very well. The room was a visual treat. The room was very clean, and must have been re-done recently, everything was immaculate. This was a really cool hotel with a retro 70s vibe. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room that they put us in was a small suite with a kitchenette. We were there in the off season, so the boardwalk was closed, but it would be a perfect location in the summer when things are hopping. Highly recommended.

The hotel was relatively empty since it was the Thanksgiving weekend and most shops and sights are closed in Wildwood, including everything on the boardwalk except the fudge shop. A complimentary breakfast buffet was included. It probably would have been a lot of fun in the summer!

The gentleman that checked us in was extremely nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable.The stay was wonderful and I would stay there again.

We stayed only one night in Nov 2012 bc we had an event at Convention Center 3 blocks away. It was quiet bc of the time of year. Very clean. Easy check in and out.

We found hotel personnel friendly and helpful. The property was well-maintained and almost immaculate, and the retro decor was great fun. We even had a lava lamp in our room! This place might be a rowdy zoo in high tourist season, but when we were there in off-season, it was quiet, mellow and relaxing. A great experience!

The staff was excellent and VERY accommodating. There were bicycles on a first come basis if you wanted to ride around the area. We were there for the 50's celebration and it's an easy walk from the Starlux to the Convention Center. Would love to come back again....and this is the place we'd stay!

We were very happy with the cleanliness of the room. Everything smelled clean and fresh. We stayed there to be close to the Convention Center but it was close to everything. The hotel offered bikes if you didn't care to walk. The pool and hot tube were crystal clear eventhough it was in October but the weather was still warm enough to enjoy a little […] swim. Great location right near the Wildwoods sign and convention center. Hotel staff was very accommodating. We weren't able to check in until 2 but it was a busy weekend. Nice free breakfast in the morning- coffee, muffins, juice, bagels. My family went during Wildwood's Fabulous Fifties weekend in October and this hotel was perfect!

This is a first rate "motel"! Love the 50's style make over with modern amenities built in. Perfectly situated on the quieter, more serene edge of Wildwood, one block from the beach with a lovely view of the ocean and Wildwood boardwalk sign. We had an end suite on the top floor that was perfectly comfortable, well appointed and QUIET- which was awesome […] considering this was my husband and my first trip alone in years. Our bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have EVER slept in (more so than most of the 5 star hotels I have frequented)- complete with luscious down comforter and pillows covered in white cotton dobby. We were in town for a wedding, so we had little time to take advantage of all the hotel perks (like biking on the boardwalk, bbqs and the beach), but we did manage a dip in the hot tub and HEATED OUTDOOR POOL, both of which were heated to the optimal temperature contrasting the cool 65 degree Sunday morning. One block from the boardwalk, Super clean room with big bathroom. Really liked the nostalgia of the 70's. Knowledgible staff. Jacquie was a wealth of info on the front desk. We will be back.

could not have been a more pleasant experience. we booked the smaller airstream. self, husband, 3 year old grandson - just right size. If you have older kids you will need a different trailer or room as there is no privacy door to section off the bedroom from the living room, makes changing clothes a bit tricky

The StarLux is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. I stayed in one of the two AirStream travel trailers and I loved it! My parents used to take our family on vacation by travel trailers so this was a blast from the past. The AirStreams have been refurbished and so look pretty true to their original condition - though I have never been in one before. […] I went off-season (last week) so there weren't many people in the hotel or nearby. Not only was the hotel in great retro shape, the owners/managers paid attention to fine detail with top of the line toilietries, towels, and bedding. The property was very clean, the pool, very well taken care of. Housekeeping staff pleasant and thorough.

Air streamer camper was different, liked the fact that there was basically one other room(camper) in the area. I believe next time we will stay at the same hotel,but try a regular room. I've stayed at 5 hotels/motels in Wildwood in the last 4 years, and this one is definitely the best!!! My only issues would be the distance from the main areas of the boardwalk, and the beds are not very comfortable. The staff is very friendly.

The hotel was very nice and staff very friendly and helpful. I planned poorly and so most of the boardwalk venues were closed due to being off-season; however we made the most of it and the hotel was very attentive to our needs.

Main thing is this room was a blast. Star Lux does Doo Wop perfectly. Plus everything was very well maintained - to the point where it was hard to tell the age of the hotel. It was like a trip to the '50s The Doo Wop theme was consistent, from the main office down to the soap and shampoos. I'll definitely stay there again.

Ok, when we first drove up, my husband was thinking "what did my wife get me into this time" because the outside is quite the "motel". The inside however was clean, and nice. Breakast was nominal...just a few pastries and bagels but there was always coffee and tea. The staff was ok, the 2 guys were nicer than the lady...who acted like she couldn't be […] bothered, but she too had some times of "niceness". We took the bikes down to the beach and besides the basketball tournament at the civic center, the place was a ghost town. But we were really there for the historic part, so it was ok. Really enjoyed our stay. It was unseasonably warm for this time of year, so it was nice that they had bicycles we could use. The rooms were cute and comfortable. Will definitely be back.

Comfortable and nice. The room we stayed in was very clean and large enough for our family of four. The kitchenette was nice and the seperate bedroom was convenient because it was more private. The location was great and the staff was very kind.

It was clean, the management was friendly. The beds were listed as full ( but not as wide as my full bed at home). The rooms are adequate, but there is not a lot of floor space. Two people can not walk past the bed at the same time. The bathroom was very clean and I liked the layout. The heat worked extremely well, we had a bad draft under the door, […] but just laid down a towel and it took care of it. Could of used another chair, we brought the outside chair in. We had a bad storm or I might of tried out the hot tub....didn't know they one..not in listing for hotel. We were thankful for an end room. Some of the younger guests were in and out of their rooms very often and tended to bang the doors. Being on the end and having a very quiet neighbor next door...we were able to ignore it. An all night drunk neighbor made the experience less than enjoyable. I have, however, no complaints about the staff and we did appreciate the bikes hotel guests can borrow to ride along the boardwalk.

It was a pretty nice but my stay was in winter time so the surrounding areas were ghost towns. But it would be a great summer time place. Staff very wonderful!
