Old Town Square Hotel and Residence - Praha

Temperature control was the only slight negative!

We stayed at the Old Town Square Hotel in Prague over Easter weekend 2012. While the weather was very cold (snow), the hotel and accommodations were wonderful! The location could not be better in order to see all of Prague's sights. Be aware that there are stairs from the entrance up to the reception desk, and apparantly no elevator. Prague is a walking […] city, wear comfotable shoes to better tolerate the cobblestone streets. The hotel is very well appointed, large modern bathroom, memory foam bed, chandelier in every room and a complimentary delicious breakfast every morning- delivered to your room or enjoyed in the common area. The staff, as well as everyone we encountered spoke excellent English. Most places accepted VISA or Chek Krowns, not euros or dollars. Prague is exquisite! 12 foot high ceilings, windows open to Old Town Prague with town center, churches, street vendors cooking great food a few floors below. Our room was spacious (slept four comfortably) with wifi, minibar, updated bathroom with heated floor. The staff was responsive and friendly. Dozens of restaurants and shops within 2-3 blocks. Old Town Square Hotel is a gem. We stayed in a family suite, which had ample room for two adults and two children. It was like having our own apartment right in the centre of Prague. The view from our windows was stunning, and the staff was very friendly. We could not have wished for a better place to spend our weekend in Prague. Arrived on Saturday, the day before Easter. Old Town Square was jam-packed with locals and tourists enjoying the Easter Market stalls and vendors scattered across the square. Taxi from airport dropped us and our bags on wrong side of square so I located hotel and their bellhop returned with me and hauled our bags thru the crowds back to the hotel and […] up the rather lengthy flight of stairs to the hotel lobby. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming and spoke excellent English. We were shown to our room, a huge 2-room apartment with very modern, kicked-up bathroom. Admittedly it was a junior suite (a free upgrade courtesy of the hotel) but was very comfortable. Bearing in mind that this hotel occupies a building that dates back approx 800 years, it has been remarkably well preserved and maintained. Yes, the wooden floors do creak a bit, but for that daunting staircase from ground level to the hotel lobby, I would have given all 5's. But don't be detered because their staff will haul your bags up and down for you. Would we return their again? In a heartbeat! Lisätietoja

Excellent. The hotel and it's staff were just wonderful. The location was right in front of the town square and in front of the famous astronomical clock. Travelled with my kids who were just as happy with the excellent location and the wonderful service by the hotel's staff. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Friendly, helpful staff and check in experience was quick and 'painless'. Our room was big, comfortable and well appointed. Beds were soft and we had some great 'sleeps'. Bathroom was well 'kitted out'. Large shower and bath and the heated floor was really nice in the morning! The only 'gripe' we had was that there was no 'in room' tea & coffee making […] facilities, albeit this was immediately available at no extra charge by phoning reception. This is a small 'boutique' hotel and is unlike the much larger hotels that we normally stay in, so the absence of a dedicated bar and restaurant was a bit disconcerting, but there is a good Jazz & Blues Club (Bily Konieks) immediately below the hotel is a lovely cavern style setting, andwhich is well worth a try. The hotel setting in the Old Town Square makes this a pleasant and convenient stay. You are central to almost everything and the variety of cafes, wine bar's and restaurants around the hotel is excellent. There is a good Indian restaurant (Indian Crystal) and Irish bar (The Dubliner) just across the square. We had a room at the side of the hotel (almost on the Square, overlooking a busy side street) and there was a lot of noise at times, so don't forget to ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. Location, Location. Can't be beat!!! However, during high season, it could get a little loud at night when trying to sleep, which is to be expected. Very clean and large rooms overlooking the Old Town Square. The breakfast was good.

I was traveling with two teenager girls and we were in our beds sleeping at 2am when some drunk American men, who did not know how to handle their levels of Absinthe, tried to break down our door thinking that our room was their's and the key was just not working. This really scared us, and I, being their female guardian, was not prepared to defend […] myself from drunk men in my pj's. They actually got the door open, thank goodness I had the door dead-bolted... gives another meaning to the term dead-bolt in my mind. Anyway, i guess this is what you get for staying in the busiest square in Prague. The Hotel is nice, but that is also what you get for staying at a 5-star hotel. I was not so impressed with it being a 5 star. It did not meet my expectations.... and i would not pay so much to stay in the hotel again. there are other hotels that would have the same service and standards for much less. Lisätietoja

Fin belligenhed i umiddlebar nærhed af den gamle rådhusplads i Prag.. men ualmindelig dårlig komfort - på INGEN måde et 5-stjernet hotel. Middelmådig morgenmads-buffet! Kan ikke anbefale dette til andre.. prisen er alt for høj i forhold til det man får. værelses-indretningen er skrabet og grinagtig i forhold til at man kalder det "royal suites". Havde […] jeg haft mulighed for at få mine penge tilbage og flytte hotel, havde jeg gjort det med det samme! Mine forventninger blev på ingen måde indfriet. Fin beliggenhed, men under hensyntagen til prisnivauet og de mange stjerner, en skuffelse, at der ikke var udsigt til Rådhuspladsen, når også bestillingen var foretaget i rigtig god tid. Det var særdeles utilfredsstillende, at morgen maden skulle indtages i en mindre iscafè. This hotel has everything within walking distance. The rooms are nice and has superb bathrooms. Ill tell all my friends, business assosiates and family to choose this hotel if they go to Prauge.

Midt i smørøyet! Inngangspartiet og resepsjonen viser et gammelt hus. Men rommene var fantastisk flotte med moderne innredning. Fire meter under taket og en blanding av stål og krystallysekroner. Frokost servert ved bordet. Nærmere sentrum av Praha kan en ikke komme!

Et veldig sentralt hotell i Praha. Gammel fin bygning, stort rom med flott utsikt over torget i gamlebyen, God service, men renhold litt under det man kan forvente. Vi bodde på hotellet litt utenom den travleste turist-sesongen. Det kan tenkes at støynivået fra torget ville være mer plagsomt i høy-sesongen.

Tolles Hotel in perfekter Lage. Historisches Gebäude mit jeglichem Komfort, moderne saubere Suite mit großzügigen Platzverhältnissen. Frühstücksmöglichkeit platzmäßig etwas eingeschränkt und nicht eines *****Hauses angepasst. ezeption immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Beliggenheten er fantastisk. Du må ha med telt og campe midt på torget for komme mer sentralt. Når det er sagt. Dette er ikke et 5 stjernes hotell. Flott rom men mangler noe på detaljene. Vi reiste med 2 barn og leiebil. Det var umulig å kjøre til hotellet. Ingen heis for vogn og baggasje. Konserter på torget gjorde det heller vanskelig å få ungene […] til å sove. (flaks vi ikke kom en dag før da Tsjekkia vant VM i hockey:) Jeg vil en kan få samme hotell kvalitet 10 min gange unna til halve prisen. Lisätietoja

The hotel was very good. The staff was friendly and helpfull. The only problem was at departure. We asked the hotel to order us a taxi at a given time so that we would reach the airport in time. The hotel staff followed us to the car (the hotel is in a walking area), which was not a taxi but an ordinary car, witout a meter. The driver said ha was not […] a taxi but a "hotel car". He claimed he had a fixed price tol the airport at 750 koruna, wheras we had paid 520 korunas by a ordinary metered AAA taxi the other way. As our plane where about to leave we had no other alternatives than taking the "hotel car", but felt expolited and screwed. So stay at the hotel, which is very nice, but be aware of its rather smelly taxi ordering system. Lisätietoja

Midt i sentrum, kjempe fine og store rom. Selv om rommet var vendt ut mot gaten, ble ikke nattesøvnen forstyrret. Anbefales for alle!

Midt i smørøyet. Familiesuiten hadde 2 STORE rom, topp moderne bad alt var førsteklasses.

Helt centralt belignehed. Super service og meget behagelige personelle. Vi har haft familie suit og værelset var stor med fin møbler. Flot udsigt fra vinduer. Der er ingen ekstra betaling for at få bestilt morgenmad i værelset. Der er gratis te og kaffe når som helst. Varme anbefaling specialt dem med børn.
