Prince Solms Inn B&B - New Braunfels

Nice B&B. Very clean. Great staff. When you see that hearing protection is part of your complimentary items left in the room - makes you wonder. The hotel is on a relatively busy street, so you hear a lot of the traffic going by. - still probably better than the chain hotels directly off I-35. The walls are also thin, so you can hear any "extra activity" […] that might be going on in your nearby neighbors rooms. The room was nice, but the bathroom set up took some getting used to - the sinks in the rooms are super low and the toilet is basically in a little closet of a room - can't really shut the door for any real privacy. When we got there the innkeeper said we could get an "upgrade" to a suite right above the piano bar for free. He assures us the music was "pleasant" and the bar closes at midnight. There was loud piano music and drunk loud people in the bar till well after 1:30 IN THE MORNING. If you want a good nights sleep this is not the place for it, and I feel […] like it was a shady sales setup. We had a small but probably quieter room upstairs. We had a great time. Really cool hotel

We were welcomed by Al who looked after us so well. It was a place for us to relax before embarking upon a road trip and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

The hotel was lovely, the staff friendly, the food good and the bed was comfortable. However, don't stay in the Penelope room unless you are under 5'2". I am 5'4" and everything was to short for me. The sink was so tiny and low that I had to crouch down to use it, my husband had to get on his knees. The shower was also very low my husband had to shower […] on his knees. What a wonderful experience to be able to step back in time at the Prince Solms. Al, the innkeeper was magnificent. Proud of his establishment. Stress free stay. No phones, no unnecessary distractions. Loved the personal attention. Although 3 families with a total of 14 minor children were checked in, management does a great job segregating families […] to outer rooms, leaving main building for adult guests. Breakfast room was well kept, excellent breakfast (quiche, crossants, fruit compote, cereals, pastries, coffee) wife and I enjoyed sharing a table with family from Houston.
