Best Western Mountaineer Inn - Morgantown

Family went down for sons graduation from WVU. Hotel is right down road from coliseum. When we first booked wasn't sure if we made right choice of hotels but lobby smelled nice and pool was clean. Room were adequate and staff was friendly. For what we use hotel for it was fine.

This hotel was perfect for an overnight visit to WVU. Great location and good price. My only complaint was no hot (or even warm) water for showers in the morning.

Stay was very good as always. The one item that needs improvement is their breakfast room which is way too small. The layout of the breakfast room also needs improvement. When there are several people trying to get room there is no flow of traffic.....very poor.

We have a son who attends University of West Virginia. We have stayed at the Best Western everytime we have gone down to visit him. It is minutes away from the University, close to Pizza Al's-best pizza around!!! and there's a gas station right across the street if you want snacks. It was not as bad as most reviews I read before going. Only problem we had is we arrived in morning for a WVU football game and they would not let us check in tip 1:30 even though our room was empty which meant we had to check in at 1am because we didn't go back until after game. Other then that room was clean staff friendly enough. Someone was banging […] on door next to ours at 3am but not any fault of hotel. For the money, not a bad hotel except, the first day we were there the hottest water setting on the shower only produced warm water and on the second day there was no hot water at all. Cold showers!?

The room was clean, but the heating/cooling system was mediocre. In addition, the nightly charge was way out of line. Finally, guests across the hall were incredibly noisy (before 6am!), and a call to the front desk yielded nothing. Overall, the room was confortable, and the breakfast buffet was decent, but the motel is way overpriced.

Adequate for our needs. Moving our daughter to school do didnt spend much time at hotel. Room was clean but bathroom moisture terrible after one shower. Was asked by housekeeping to bring out used towels but they were never repaced.

Hotel had messy and dirty floors (including the elevator) and the tv remote was missing.

My daughter and I went to Morgantown for orientation at WVU. The hotel was fairly close to the school which was convenient. I hate navigating Morgantown. The room was clean,and comfortable, the front desk clerk was very nice even though he was quite busy and the continental breakfast was not bad for what it was. Hotel isn't the nicest or fanciest hotel I've stayed at in Morgantown, however for the price and location this place is hard to beat. Hotel is definately due for a facelift. Needs updated TV's and room looks like a standard hotel room from the 1990s. Not a great location, a little farther north than we wanted to be, but a really good hotel for the money. No wi-fi in the rooms, but we could get to it in the lobby.

The Best Western Mountaineer Inn was the perfect place to stay. We were out of the heavy traffic pattern and it was so easy to access. Even though we are die heart PITT fans, the staff and others staying at the same hotel were very warm and friendly!! I would def recommend to others!!

Alittle pricey but much nicer than I thought it would be. Clean and comfortable room. Very convenient to campus and food...located in busy part of town. Would stay again!!

The hotel smelled in the lobby, hallways and room. I would not take a shower in the room, very dirty. I was up to visit my son at WVU..next time I will sleep in my car. Beds/pillows were very uncomfortable. Very noisy in the hallways thoughout the night. Would NOT recommend.

This is the 3rd time in 4 years that I have traveled from Dallas, TX to Morgantown for a WVU game. I have stayed at this hotel all 3 times. Room was OK. Bathroom outdated. This seems to be a hotel for workers. Many trucks in parking lot. In fact, I found one worker sleeping it off in the hallway (he did have his pillow) outside our room. Some one told us there was a fight on another floor. Then again, it was a Saturday night. Maybe Wednesdays are better.

Other than the unidentifiable stench in the hallways, it served it's purpose. The indoor pool was too cold to stay in for longer than 10 min. You can imagine how my children reacted to having to get out of it. However, it was the only available hotel available that was halfway decent. This hotel is located about 2 blocks from the Monongahela River. It would make an excellent choice, if you were looking to do some fishing. It is also close to a large shopping plaza, and restaurants. The room is equipped with WIRED internet, so if you want wireless, bring your own router…..

2nd time we stayed here in 2 weeks. The room was nice and cool and the shower hot. However, when we called and asked for more towels, they wanted to know how many we needed. Never got them. For more of a budget type hotel, the Best Western was definitely a good value. The room was good sized, everything was clean, breakfast each morning was hot and enough variety. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

I was pleased with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The free breakfast was wonderful. The pool was nice. The rooms were spacious...except bathroom was very small...and clean. The hallways were clean. It was 2 minutes away from the Coliseum. Very good deal for the money. I would def recommend to others.

The room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. I was impressed with the place because it was one of the cheaper hotels in the area. It had a nice gym and indoor pool. I would stay there again. If you are looking for a good deal on a clean room, this would be a good choice.

We had a very good stay. We where there for a graduation. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We called for extra towels and they were delivered to our room in minutes. We also enjoyed the pool
