Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel - Boston

Excellent hotel, nothing to complain! :) Extremely clean and comfortable rooms, and large! All basic services and complimentary WiFi as well. Concierge very friendly and helped us to find excellent restaurants. Location is good, especially if you don't have any specific interest and you want to walk around whole city - this is close to everything.

I am a bit of a hotel snob so I am usually pretty brutal in my reviews. However, I loved this hotel! The service was just outstanding. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Deepak, the porter, took time out to show us some of the hotel's history and gave my 6-year old a coloring book and a few chocolates to boot. Loved it. The hotel was in the perfect location - easy to get to Fenway Park but also close to the downtown area and Sea Port. Lots of restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance.

We really enjoyed our stay at Loews and would recommend it to anyone visiting Boston. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and helped us out with all our queries. The only thing really wasthere was no breakfast included in our deal, or didn't seem to be on any room rates. We enjoyed a short-but-sweet stay at the Loews Back Bay. The location was fantastic, and the room was large, with all the amenities we wanted. The staff were very helpful and we would definitely think about staying here again when we next get a chance to visit Boston.

I have stayed to The Back Bay Hotel 4 - 5 time over the past three years and have always found the staff to be exceptional. We are visiting Boston this time, to attend my daughters Commencement and ordered roses, via the Hotel Concierge Niki, to give to my daughter at dinner, but dinner was cancelled. I called Niki and asked if she would send the flowers […] to my daughter in a cab. Not only were the flowers delivered, but Niki took the initiative to delivery them personally!! Now THAT'S SERVICE. This is our 4th stay at this hotel and the differentiator for us remains the special staff. Nothing is a bridge too far for them. Love it! Bring back the weekday breakfast buffet!!

All in all, a decent hotel, conveniently located between the South End and the Back Bay. Generally great service. However, the street and Mass Pike noise was incredible. Sleep without earplugs would have been impossible. We were on the 5th floor too. Also, ask if your room has windows. Ours did, but there was a rumor some dont.

The staff was very warm and welcoming. Despite recent events that had occurred in the immediate area, the hotel was more than accommodating as anyone can expect from most Boston area hotels. Landed late so needed to rely on room service which was extremely limited. After placing the order and calling back an hour later we were told the order had never been received. Very odd. Had spoke at length with the individual taking the order each time.Room was great.Hotel restaurant spendy but decent. Over all a good stay but not remarkable.

Lovely hotel in great location for walking around Boston. We were upgraded in our room which was an added bonus included very large bathroom and coffee making facilities.

The location is good, just 15 minutes walk to Chinatown. It has many bars and restaurants nearby. The loud music coming into the room from a night club near the hotel every night. We could hardly sleep.

Back Bay Hotel is a great hotel. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There are a variety of sizes of rooms. You can walk to many restaurants, two T stations,shopping, the gardens, The Commons, and go a bit farther to the harbor.

My children tell me I am difficult to please. this may be true, but I try to judge a hotel on what it is trying to be. The Back Bay Hotel is trying to be a top class hotel. It is in fact a very good hotel in a great location, but it is not a great hotel. Upon checking in, I waited for a clerk to finish with someone ahead of me (we were the only guests […] there). Another clerk was doing something on his computer. Neither made eye contact and neither said "We'll be with you in a moment". After a few minutes the male clerk looked up and welcomed me. The only problem was that he was chewing gum, quite vigorously. Not good. The room was fine, if a bit small, but then that is what I booked - a basic room. Well equipped. When I went to use the toilet, there was something floating in the bowl. Not large, and likely not human, but one doesn't expect to see anything there. I later sat on the desk chair and upon moving around to see the tv, I noticed some garbage behind the night table, which had not been cleaned up - likely had not been seen. Overall, the rest of the stay was fine, but a clean room is important, as is a strong first impression at the front desk. I would stay at the Back Bay Hotel again. The location is great. We came to vist Boston for college tours and loved the central location of Back Bay Hotel. Depending on where we where headed we were able to walk or catch the subway from either Arlington or Back Bay Station. The restaurant was wonderful and our stay was great.

Don't think I could have found a better hotel to stay at! I just finished a 5-night stay at the Back Bay Hotel in Boston. First, the hotel is quite nice with a friendly staff. The bathroom was stocked with Kiehl's products which I also enjoyed. The only downside of my stay is that the Internet (both hard line and wireless) was very very slow with irregular access. Now, it is hard to complain when each guest […] is given free access to the Internet, but I would rather have paid the extra $20/day to have high speed. My iPad and laptop were essentially useless to access the internet, and the computers in their business center (first 15 minutes are free) were equally as slow. My husband and I stayed at the Back Bay Hotel for three nights at the end of February. The hotel is located in the old Boston Police headquarters. It is a very comfortable boutique hotel. We had a deluxe king room on the 8th fl. It was comfortable, good size, with a very large bathroom with shower only. The towels were luxurious as were the other amenities. […] The service was excellent from the front door to the front desk. Very nice bar (Cuff's) and we had dinner the first night in the Stanhope Grill which was very good with an appealing menu. The service there was excellent!! I actually hadn't stayed at this hotel since before the name change (was previously Jurys), but the same level of service was still there. Great location to any work or travel to the Back Bay/Copley area. Good service by the staff. Room was very large and comfortable and was easy to get online (for free).

The hotel has a high overall rating with other travellers, but this is slightly at odds with my experience. The first thing I noticed was how tiny the room was. Then I looked at the floor and discovered the very unappealing beige-grey carpet that looked as though it hadn't been replaced since 1973.
