We are on a road trip in USA and thought it might help others to give reviews, since we read these a lot when choosing hotel. In our non smoking room clearly some1 had been smoken. A/c control panel wasnt exactly in good condition, but after using some extra power we cought it working. after that evrything was great. Not place to spend vacation, but excellent 1 nighter, and price was way less than coulda been.

The online pictures made it look better than it is. Great location & comfortable, just not as nice as expected. Had to call maintenance for two items, but they did fix them.

Bathroom, outdated, no stand up shower, jaccuzi tub very outdated, could not get the temperature of water needed. Did not provide coffee or condiments second day.

Room was clean good location but it needs and update badly. The shower was actually a bathtub with a pull out shower head that only reaches chest highth so u have to squat down to wash your hair. Tub leaked around edge which mad the carpet wet in the room. Other then that it wasn't to bad for the price we paid

VERY COMFORTABLE AND HOMEY HOTEL. WILL STAY HERE AGAIN. THE ROOM WAS VERY SATISFACTORY. VERY CLEAN. STAFF WAS SO HELPFUL. ONLY NEGATIVE WAS THAT THE ELEVATOR WAS OUT OF ORDER. OH WELL, NEEDED THE EXERCISE...LOL

"Good cheap hotel in Gatlinburg"
This hotel is old. However, my room had been updated, with granite bath counter, new carpet,new air conditioner,new bed (plush style-I perfer firm) The pool looked, but too cold to swim at 70 degrees. the room was dingy, didn't look cleaned. water was sooo hot my husbands stomach was burnt... was not impressed and would not return to this hotel.. staff was not courteous or helpful in any manner.

"Days Inn Gatlinburg Parkway..."
Location of the hotel itself is VERY convenient. Located right at the end of the main strip closest to the national park. Within walking distance of pretty much everything in town. The hotel itself is fairly old. We stayed in a third floor loft suite. Our room had updated furniture, carpet, and paint (although lousy job). You can tell the bathroom had […] been slightly updated, although very rough. The cleanliness of the bathroom was very sub par. We had to clean the toilet before use, and pick up chips and crumbs off of the loft stairs. Although everything else seemed fairly clean. Water pressure was pretty low in the shower, and it did not drain very quickly. Water was hot at all times (hotel seemed fairly busy when we got there) and did not notice any smell or color issues with the water as mentioned before. Bedding was clean and decently comfortable. TV remote was lacking working batteries...asked for new ones and never received during our three night stay. Also asked for extra towels (only 4) and never received those either. Breakfast consisted of two cereals, some donuts and pastries, plain oatmeal packets and bagels. Pool was too cold for us to swim in, although it was indoors. I do not think it was heated very well if at all. All in all, you get what you pay for here. One of the cheaper hotels in the area, and it's location is great. "Enjoyed our stay"
Our room was very clean and comfortable. When we arrived the light over the bathroom vanity was out. Hotel personnel promptly fixed this problem. Only problem was installation of new roof on hotel that hampered parking at times. We will stay next time in Gatlinburg.

River Edge Motor Lodge is not a new hotel and there are bonuses with that. Our room was large with a fireplace and 2 queen size beds. Lady at the desk was super nice! Outside was in repair so we were hesitant but when we walked in we were all shocked! It was really clean and nice. The beds were comfy. "Gatlinburg, Tn - Not a happy camper"
I booked this room for the night before leaving on a three day hike in the Smokey Mts. When I checked in, I found that they were replacing the shingles on the roof. Shortly after entering the room, my wife almost got hit by falling debris from the roof and there was a glass used as an ashtray still full on the balcony (a nonsmoking room). Work did not […] stop on the roof until well into the evening. Next morning I awoke to see a trap covering my new car along with several others to "protect" them from falling shingles. This is an older motel and it shows. We arrived a coupl eof hours early and the lady behind the counter abruptly told me we could not check in until 3pm. No early check in was allowed. It would have been nice to know thw roof on the motel was being replaced before I booked the room. Was awakened the next morning by hammering on it. Not happy at all. […] Ceiling in the King Suite bathroom had large brown spots from water damage and looked like it was going to fall off the ceiling. "Close to most sights"
Motel is located close to most Parkway attractions and places to eat. Rooms have been updated and linens seem to be new as well., comfortable beds Bathrooms still require some modernizing and repair to leaky fixtures.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very close to the parkway and we enjoyed the walk. We had a great time.
The room wasn't as nice as I first thought but the friendly staff made up for the difference...

Had black mold on wallpaper in room. Towels had black hair as well as tub. Pillows were so flat that your head was basically even to bed. Remote battery cover was kept on with bandaid. Beds were comfortable. Would not recommend and would never stay there again.
Wonderful location... Very nice honeymoon suite... Will be going again :)

You get what you pay for. Fireplace would not work, shower walls tile was falling off of the wall, main front door had two long cracks in it(could see light through them), fireplace did not seem to work, could use a bigger tv. Would not recomend anyone to stay here, nor will i return
"River Edge Moter Lodge in Gatlingburg-nice room"
The hotel was nice and clean, with an awesome balcony. It is in a nice location as far as the sights to see and close to the main Gatlinburg strip. The construction around the area made it a little inconvenient but that wasn't the hotels fault. We would stay again for sure.

I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. It is not very expensive, is always clean but is within walking distance to anything in town. Staff is always friendly.

We had the room with king bed and fireplace, bldg was old but the room was very nice. Staff was also very helpful with tips, also this hotel was in walking distance to all the attractions.
This is our 2nd year staying at the River Edge. It is nothing fancy, but for the money you can't beat it. The location is fantastic. Rooms are a little old and outdated but I can't complain. You get what you pay for. We will come back again next year!

"Quite a pleasurable stay"
The staff was very friendly and it felt very homey. The room was super comfortable with a fire place and a nice private balcony. The bathroom was very clean and the hot water in the bathroom was excellent. It's not a huge fancy hotel, but for the price it was quite luxurious. I'd recommend it to anyone going to Gatlinburg. We stayed at the River Edge Motor Lodge in January 2012. The hotel was exactly what we were expecting for what we paid. Obviously the hotel is older and has its share of maintenance issues, but our room was cheap, clean, comfortable, and convienent to downtown...what more could you ask for?

This hotel had the prettiest bathroom i have ever saw! Big red heart shapped tub with mirrors all around,even on the ceiling.The floor & around the tub was white marble with red swirls through it.We had a fireplace in our room,but i think it was just for looks because it didn't give off any heat.I didn't like that our room had 2 doors because alot of […] cold air was coming in through both of them.They need to put some weather strips around them cause our room stayed cold.The heat didn't seem to work too well so we just kept the tub full of hot water.I also didn't like that there was no stand up shower.They have a detachable shower head attached to the tub,but it's not the same as just getting in a tub & taking a shower. This hotel is not bad at all for the price we paid. The hotel staff were not the friendliest, but we didnt have to interact with them too much, so it was fine. More attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of the rooms. It's the small things that make the place look bad. Ceiling needed cleaned, toliet paper holder needed cleaned. And this is just to name a few. All we done was sleep there so we survived but not anymore.

The room was nice, not the cleanest but it was good. The location was great. I didn't even have to start my car for two days once we got there. You can walk to all kinds of stuff on the main strip. The jacuzzi was cool but definitely kind of old. But I would stay here again for sure. It's what I expected for the price

While the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, there were some complaints but nothing I didn't expect for what we paid. The beds were comfortable, the continental breakfast was just right. Nothing fancy but great for a small family on the go. While the hotel was outdated and not in the best condition it was fine. We stayed two nights and paid […] what our family did for one night at the hotel next door. They complained about the beds and the wifi which those were both great at our hotel. The heater was basically on or off, no real adjusting the temperature. The phone didn't work or the alarm clock...however I have a feeling that was a problem with the plugs. Didn't need with modern cell phones. I was happy with the room when I knew what we were saving. I loved being able to walk a block and get to the main strip. "Avoid this hotel"
I read all the reviews and can not understand why anyone would recommend this hotel. The wording “outdated” in these reviews should be replaced with “deteriorated conditions”. Huge gapes in the plaster surrounding shower faucets, no stoppers just open drains, sinks literally sagging from the walls and completely clogged up. The toilet seats was cracked […] and the sink as well. The toilet would not flush and the room smelled of gas from the VERY unsafe looking fireplace. The place is falling apart. We were even moved to a new room without fireplace, the same scenario with mirrored conditions. A hotel where you cant use the bathroom? The shower was molded to a serious extent and again gaping holes at the plumbing and all drains clogged. And yes it was unclean. I’m easy going but this pushed me to far. Breakfast? Toast , cereal, doughnuts coffee.... bad coffee and juice/milk. We use hotels.com regularly and I have never had this experience. Lisätietoja

Tried this place twice to give it a fair chance. First time was bad. Second time....well.....let's see, the room smelled musty and screwed our sinuses up for the entire next day, hair dryer didn't work, lights over sink didn't work and most important ....the bed was lumpy and hard to sleep on.
