Camino Real Veracruz - Veracruz

It was a very pleasant and enjoyable weekend, room was clean including common hotel arias, great pool, the gym treadmills need maintenance but the view is spectacular. Do not expect white sandy beaches, this is Veracruz a beautiful city with lots of places to explore.

Excellent staff. Worked hard for us, polite. Good food in restaurant, excellent burger. Room was organized and clean, but the mildew was very bad. Room 1714. The mattresses were the source, and probably the air conditioning ducts. Maybe the place got saturated during a hurricane or something. The only think I dont like, was that I return to my room at 5 and may beds were exactly as i leave them. They said the hotel was full, but 5 is to much.

Not five star but clean and friendly environment. Had a few maintenance kinks (leaky toilet, our window did not seal shut) But the pool is well maintained and the breakfast bufett has a good variety of American and Mexican offerings. Linens are clean and they have large bathsheets for towels (no washcloths offered, bring your own). Veracruz itself has […] many places of interest that are hours away and it was alway good to get back to a clean room and a good nights sleep. We had an in-room massage therapist and it was excellent. There is a small day spa nearby, if that is what you prefer but none on site. Great place for a business stay not a lot for children to do. Clean private beach area. Right next to a heliport only used by the Govenor and they may land at any time of day or night, but not a big disturbance. They offer an on-call taxi service and we were lucky to find a fantastic driver( spoke English and was a cautious and informed individual "Rafael" from "Las Palmeras" car service), we contracted him to drive us to Tajin (a four hour drive) and a couple of other sights. The hotel claims to be five star according to some web sites. It is not. Maybe a 3. When we arrived we were not given a room such as we had reserved, specifically higher up in the building. They were going to rectify this the next day but they did not approach us and we did not bother to try to change rooms. The location is very good if you want to […] be away from the downtown area. The beach is at your doorstep and you are at the 'boardwalk' along the ocean - great for jogging and walking. Everything is easily accessible by taxi. The hotel is generally clean but everything seems a bit outdated for a Mexican hotel chain that considers itself to be high-quality. Maybe it receives less attention because it is off the beaten track. The gym facility was often closed, the equipment is outdated and/or does not work. The web site picture is misleading because the mirrored room appears twice its tiny size. There is no ventilation, so it is most uncomfortable to try to work out in it. Although the hotel advertises as having balconies, the entire middle row (all number 7s) have permanent non-opening windows (this was the first room we were offered!). Door handle totally broke off and no one would come to fix it. Also really slow at getting towels and simple items. Could not get a consistant amount that items costed always changed.

I was quite disappointed by their so call Gym as the machines were broken. More so, the Manager did not dare to taalk to me when I complained about their gym.

i had a hard time finding sleep after 6 am 10th floor.. the birds are very loud.. the whole experience was nice with room for improvement. the staff tried very hard and was friendly. you can tell the hotel is used and shows the age, it is time for a upgrade.

Great Pool with ocean view and in pool bar... Waiters can take a while for drinks but not so much to complain about it

The Camino Real was a great hotel and we had a great stay there. The staff was amazing and always willing to help. The prices were a little high for Mexico, but still cheaper than the States. The police were a real presence, but the area was very safe. Many MANY joggers and ladies walking alone after dark made me comfortable of that. Plenty of restaurants […] and bars within walking distance. Most of the time, we were the only Americans around, but everyone was patient with us, or understood english. I had a great stay here...The staff were friendly, the rooms were fantastic, the entire hotel was clean, the pool was excellent, the view was excelent. the beach was okay...the food was awesome. The only negative was the unrelentless pounding of the electronic music. This is the only negative....and it was such that my wife would not go back....

The hotel people are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very conforatable, has a nice pool, excellent view, good service and is very well located. We really enjoyed our stay.

i fell totally cheated by the hotel. i have been a regular for at least 4 years and the two last years the pool has really cold watter and the explanation is that the heatting system is broken, i mean for two years in a row, i just don´t buy it. Try telling ypur kids NOT to go on the pool after a four hour drive. By the way my kid got sick from the […] frezing watter, thank you SO MUCH. I´t doesn´t stop there: people who are not guest of the hotel went inside the hotel facilites pool, bathroom you name it and no one move a finger, when i told the manger he said they had a security crew(taking a nap i asumme)!!! On the hotel beach, cars parked, made pic nics and used the chairs and bungalows of the hotel. It´s not olny unfair but dangerous the non existent level of security of this hotel. My advice, DON´T STAY HERE. I belive i´m only asking for reasonable thing like security,hot watter, clean linens and if the hotel can´t provide them well not an opion for my family. I stayed for 5 nights in this hotel and all I can say is, Veracruz is not Cancun and the staff do not go overboard to treat you like royalty. I traveled with my non-Spanish speaking husband and he was definitely at a disadvantage because there was apparently one person on staff who spoke "some" English. Veracruz is a Mexican tourist destination so be […] prepared to be treated like a Mexican and if possible wear only brand name, latest fashion clothing if you want to be given any respect by the locals or staff. Staff was marginally polite and gave average service. Hotel is nothing to brag about. The restaurant is fair. The best feature is the pool, even though it is not particularly clean. Every day the staff had to fish deck chairs out of the pool because the wind blew several in. Although all rooms are ocean view, we had to put our wood desk chair and our big upholstered arm chair on the balcony to sit outside. Hotel definitely did not encourage use of the balcony, in other words. We were not welcomed or informed of any amenities though there were horses kept in trailers on the beach just below the hotel, and I guess water sports were available. Concierge was never present. And if you want to change or spend dollars, make sure they have no tiny marks or stamps on them - hotel would only accept pristinely new, uncreased bills. Beach is dirt colored. I felt no urge to even set foot on it. I would not go back as there are way too many pretty places in Mexico to visit. Lisätietoja

Cuando recibi el cuarto, no tenia caja de seguridad, la solicite, pero me instalaron una que no funciono. Otro detalle fué que no me devolvieron el recibo de American Express que firme para consumos extras, se me indico que ya estaba cancelado, no encontrando el voucher original firmado.

Al personal de recepción le falta capacidad de resolver los problemas que se van presentando...no es muy agradable empezar las vacaciones con detalles como tener que esperar a que te proporcionen la habitación, en mi caso reservé 4 habitaciones......llegamos al hotel a las 2:30 p.m. una vez registrados nos dijeron que la entrega de la habitación sería […] a las 3:00 p.m., regresamos a las 3:20 p.m. y nuevamente nos dijeron que debíamos esperar por que aún no estaban limpias......finalmente nos las fueron entregando hasta las 4:30 p.m. Lisätietoja

Agradezco mucho su amable atencion, muy buen hotel. La almohada grande que incluye la cama, es genial, te permite muy comodamente ver la tv desde la cama. Las almohadas pequenas no estan tan comodas, pero estan bien. La habitacion genial, vista formidable al mar y muy espaciosa. En hora buena, saludos.

Todo estuvo muy bien en el hotel, salvo las toallas, ya que al principio teníamos toallas para baño 3, una para el piso al salir de la regadera y una de manos, los siguientes días siempre nos faltaron la de manos y la del piso del baño, pero la recamarera cuando se lo comentamos nos las ponía, fuera de eso todo excelente.

Un hotel muy cómodo, excelente zona. La playa esta prácticamente libre de vendedores, la alberca esta muy cómoda y el personal en general muy dispuestos a ayudar. Pedir comida en el área de la alberca es muy tardado y no lo recomendaría. Los alimentos son buenos sobre todo el desayuno! De precios caros pero vale la pena pagarlo por un par de veces, […] no todo el tiempo, mejor salir a buscar opciones locales. El Arpista que toca por las mañana en el desayuno es muy agradable. Buena cadena, mal servicio en el hotel en la parte de la playa, la cual se encontraba sucia y sin atención;: debido a que los fines de semana las personas que no se hospedan pueden pagar "club de playa", los huéspedes que bajan a las instalaciones de la alberca o de la playa, pueden ya no encontrar camastros o sillas, pues se encuentran apartadas o […] ocupadas por las personas que no son huéspedes; el servicio es lento y no atienden tus necesidades. En comentarios anteriores noté que decían que estaba muy descuidado, en general me pareció con buen mantenimiento de las instalaciones, lo que sí los precios de los alimentos y bebidas están demasiado caros para el tipo de hotel, pero en general buen servicio. Camino Real es una de mis cadenas de preferencia cuando viajo en Mexico, sin embargo éste en particular no esta a la altura de los demás. Me he quedado en el Fiesta Americana que esta muy cerca de este y mas o menos al mismo precio, y no hay comparacion No me quedare nuevamente en ese hotel

Muy buen hotel en una zona excelente a la orilla de la playa! Muy bien para relajarse un rato! Y con unas vistas maravillosas. Yo le di un toque romántico a la habitación! Si quieren sorprender a su pareja!
