Hotel is situated in a great location, right next to the Olympic tower. The good stuff ends there. Overall, it feels cheap. Rooms are tiny and the service is too slow.

No restaurant onsite was inconvenient. Old, musty or moldy smell in the rooms made me cut my stay and move to another hotel.

It is time for the hotel to have a make over! We had to wait in a short line for a lengthy time both checking in and out. The rooms were on the smaller side and quite drab. The hot tub wasn't working and I specifically asked when making the reservations as we were there for New Years Eve. The bathrooms were tiny and not well planned out. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our stay at the Universel Hotel. I thought that the location was great, about 3 miles from all the downtown action. Driving, it is a straight shot down Rue Sherbrooke to get downtown, and the Metro is walking distance. The Hotel staff were young and fairly helpful. It would have been nice to have a cheaper option or buffet style breakfast option. The first time we had a room in Universal hotel the room was clean, good costumer service we has a good time, this time the room was not good, the carpet need a change,breakfast buffet not good

I stayed here on New Years Eve and everyone working was fantastic! There was certainly potential for a loud night or slow service because it was so busy but this was not the case. We were very pleased with the service and the cleanliness of the room. The hot tub was not open when we were there, which was a slight disappointment, but the pool was available […] (and completely empty!) as well as the gym. Thank-you for a great New Years! I had a great time. The only thing that bugged me was the pillows because they were way to hard and they only had one extra pillow in a room of 4 people. I enjoyed everything else and its a pretty place.

Great location to Old Montreal and within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to see. Front desk staff very friendly and informative about good places to eat although on last night misinformed us about need to make reservation to dining room which was hosting a 50th birthday party. Had to go elsewhere for dinner although they did suggest a great […] italian restaurant on next street. Parking next door cheaper than hotel and relatively safe (monitored by camera). This hotel is well located near the Olympic Stadium and it's metro station, Viau, at 8 min walking down the street. The Hotel is not new but clean. The personnel is very friendly and take the time to answer your question. All amenities you expect in an hotel are there. Lots of restaurants near by.

Just spent three night at this hotel with three kids. All went well. Super location. Short walks or cab rides to most places. Great beds and baths at the end of busy fun days.

We received the cot at 11:30 p.m. when we had ordered at arrival. Had to track down the cleaners to re-clean the room. There was dust and food wrappers under the beds that were left by previous hotel guests. Room service knocked on the door twice at 8:15 a.m. to clean the room. waking myself and children up after a late night.

First floor room. Nosiey. Heard all hallway noise and slaming doors. Room clean but old stained carpets. Disappointed for a convention center thought it would be more current and up to date. Staff were great. Location great for what we wanted to see.

The Hotel is very well maintained. The room was comfortable even though the carpets were a bit stained, the lady at reception was mildly rude, and the room smelt a bit musty upon entry (required airing). We parked our car (Ontario plated) in the Biodome parking lot around noon. When we returned to our car about an hour later, we were horrified to find that our passenger window had been smashed, and two cameras and 1 makeup kit had been stolen from my wife's carrier bag. Yes, we shouldn't have left the bag exposed, but we were parked in a 'secure' lot (or so we thought), and we we packed to go to Quebec. Quite irritating, especially that this repair cost us $900!! Old hotel need urgent renovation!!! We booked a room by Hotels.com indicating we are parents with 3 kids, Hotels.com let us book a room with 2 full bed. There were no sofa bed or any other accommodation for our third child, who slept on the floor on extra blanket the hotel gave us. We stayed in Montreal for 2 days and 1 night. The hotel is walking distance to Biodome, Insectarium and botanical garden. It is very convenient.

The hotel is fine as it is, no complaints about things that don't work or something like that. But it could be better for the price: the bathroom hardly has any space to put toiletries on, the bath/shower is operated by separate hot and cold water taps, which in rush-hour means that the water temperature varies constantly. The pool and hot tub are […] in good condition, although the jets in the hot tub could have been somewhat more powerful; they did not create bubbles. Front desk is very efficient. For the price, I don't really understand why the breakfast is not complimentary. You can eat breakfast in the hotel, but for the price that you pay, you can get three or four breakfasts elsewhere. The hotel has free parking for guests. The nearest metro station is 3/4 mile away... nearest bus I don't know. Beautiful hotel, well kept. Walking distance to restaurants and metro. Room service was excellent and quick. Everyone is friendly & helpful. We did have one problem with connecting to the internet and found that when booking the room we should have asked for a room located close to internet router (if you will be needing to access the internet.) The room was extremely dated and the window filthly. It did not open. I was happy to see the room was very clean, even under the furniture. I will not stay there again unless I get a new room. They are in the middle of an extensive renovation. It is quite a distance from downtown, so if you are interested in seeing sites downtown, opt to spend a little […] more and stay in town. Distance à pied du stade olympique, Hotel facile d'acces. Par contre... beaucoup trop bruyant, nous nous sommes faits réveiller sans cesse de minuit à 5h du matin (cris, portes etc...) Dommage.

Rien d'extra ordinaire, c'est entretenu sauf mal insonorisé dans les chambres, quand quelqu'un est dans le corridor c'est comme si il était dans la chambre. (resto fermé la semaine)

Nous ne voulions pas payer cher, mais nous n'avons pas eu grand chose! Les chambres (standard, je ne sais pas pour les suites) sont TRÈS petites. Comme nous étions 5, nous avons dû faire monter un lit pliant, et nous nous demandions où il serait placé. Finalement, nous avons choisi de bouger les lits afin de faire plus de place. Si le lit pliant est […] arrivé vite, les serviettes supplémentaires que nous avions demandées ne sont jamais parvenues jusqu'à notre chambre! De plus, les contacts avec les employés ont été, pour la moitié seulement, très désagréables. Le personnel étaient agréable. Mais la chambre sentait l'humidité et la vieille cigarettes, il n'avait plus de désinfectant dans les ascenseurs.

Il n'y avait pas le lit pour notre fils de 13 ans donc la 5ème personne ils nous l'ont installés quand nous sommes arrivés à 24h

ホテルの周りにはお店は少なく、人通りも少ない静かな場所です。 ホテルのスタッフはとても親切で、笑顔で接してくれました。 部屋は広かったです。ただ、明かりが少なくて夜になると部屋の中が暗いのが難点でした・・・ でも総合的に、スタッフも親切だったし安心して滞在できる良いホテルだと思います。
