Huippusijainti. Sopii suomalaisen kukkarolle. Helppo tulla JFK kentällä. Kaksi hyvää aamiaispaikkaa vieressä. Huone iso ja ihan siisti vaihka talo onkin 100 vuoden takaa (niinkuin iso osa)

Hyvä hotelli hintaluokassaan, erinomaiset sängyt ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Kesäaikaan saattaa kuumuus vaivata.

Hotelli oli miellyttävä yllätys, parempi kuin odotin. Luokitus voisi olla kolmekin tähteä. Ystävällinen ja asiallinen henkilökunta, turvallinen, kysyivät myös nimen joka kerta respassa kun pyysi avainta näin varmistaen henkilön oikeellisuuden. This hotel is in the very heart of Manhattan, e.g. short short walk to Times Square and subway stations with lots of connections. The building is old and some of the interior could use more or less upgrading. Bathrooms, however, seemed to had been renovated. Despite the age of the building and the general worn-out feel, everything worked ok and the […] rooms and public places were clean. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, but that is no problem, since there is a great deli right next door and numerous other places to eat and drink within the same street. Staff at reception was friendly and quickly remembered our room number by our faces for the key drop-in/pick-up (you have to leave the room key to reception when going out). One week in New York in this hotel, we can not recommend this place for such a long visit. One or two nights would have been just fine. Pros: location was perfect (Times Square was just around the corner), bathroom was clean and updated, staff was friendly (at least most of them), Internet was free. Also one of the New York's best Delis was next door […] (Cafe Cranberry, policemen's favorite place). Excellent coffee, bagels and paninis, prices very reasonable! Cons: we saw cockroaches running on the floor couple of times, old carpet was stinky and dirty and there was holes underneath. Because of aircon, we could not lock the window and behind the window was firestairs. So practically our room was unlocked all the time! Aircon was too old and noisy. Also AC sealing was poor. Drain was not working for the first two days, but it was fixed after we mentioned about that twice. Duvet covers were missing. After all, we can not recommend this place for families with children or for a romantic holiday. Few nights for singles or couples with no expectations - then this is satisfied choice. Lisätietoja

Kohtuuhintainen hotelli aivan Manhattanin keskustassa eli korttelin päässä Time Squarelta. Kävellen pääsee myös Empire State Bildingille ja tavartalo Maysiin ja moneen muuhun avainkohteeseen. Hintatasoonsa nähden hyvä hotelli jota voi suositella muillekkin. Aamupala löytyy kahdestakin viereisestä kahvilasta jos ei halua kävellä kauemmaksi.

Viivyimme viikon tässä hotellissa ja minulla ei ollut mitään valitettavaa! Palvelu oli ystävällistä, paikka oli siisti ja lähellä kaikkea, Times Squarelle 2 min kävely, yöllä eivät kaupungin äänet kuuluneet ollenkaan huoneeseen!

Hyvä sijainti, hotelli oli vähän nuhjuinen, huone oli pieni ja muita puutteita, mm. suihku ei toiminut, tv ei toiminut.

Friendly staff, excellent location. Good delis next door, so you won't be hungry. Our room had no curtains, so street noice came in. Just 50 m from Times Square, so it's easy to get into action.

The hotel was great. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room, as well as the bathroom, was clean. The location could not have been better, although you could hear traffic and other noices quite well.

Hinta/laatusuhe kohdillaan. Huonetta ei kauniiksi voi kuvailla, eli jos New Yorkissa meinaa vain hotellihuoneessa viihtyä en tätä suosittelisi, mutta jos huonetta käyttää nukkumiseen ja tavaroiden säilyttämiseen hotelli on loistovalinta. Kylpyhuone siisti. Siivooja kävi päivittäin. Järkyttävät hissit. Erinomainen sijainti. Times Square 300 m.

My dad actually chose this hotel out for me so I had no idea what to expect. It had a really nice feel and felt more so like an apartment block than hotel, but I kinda liked that. The staff were all pleasant & helpful and the cleaners/maintenance were lovely. The only complaint I would have would be that the bed was pretty hard, but I dealt with that. […] The tv was pretty small/old too but whatever. It was warm & comfortable otherwise and my room was quite large. I had no street noise or anything. The location is SUPERB. and the cafes next door were awesome if you didn't feel like eating out. The staff is helpful and friendly. Everything is ok, except the room doesn't have AC.

Great hotel, if you not scared of a little city noise (which adds to the NY experience) then stay here. Front desk staff are great. It is not 5 star accom by any means but it is a simple place to stay, good secure location, great diner next door to the hotel which serves a hearty breakfast to get you going for the day. hotel is in the heart of times square minute walk to subway . rooms are decnt size and clean , just need some updates. staff friendly. if driving not the best place to stay as parking is very expensive

Close to most Subway lines, block away from the center of Times Square, Hi Def TV, quite, clean, internet. What more do you want.

Lovely little hotel in perfect location steps from Times Square. Rooms are tiny but comfortable and are a good value for NYC. WiFi was a little uncooperative, but everything else was so nice, I could live with it. Staff were friendly, helpful and always available. I would stay there again.

We stayed here for two nights, one of which was New Years Eve. I was travelling with my 15 year old son, so didn't want to rely on public transport on the night. The motel was almost right in Times Square. We were able to walk half a block to be amongst all the festivities and safely return to our room when it was all over. I love this hotel and stay here everytime I visit NYC!! The staff is the best, they make you feel like family, and are super friendly. The rooms are smallish but that's expected in Manhattan. The location can't be beat.

This hotel was just as advertised. It wasn't Trump Tower. It wasn't The Hilton. But it was everything I thought it would be...it was an inexpensive, older, quaint hotel located in the PERFECT location. What it lacked in amenities it made up for in old world charm. Within 5 blocks I walked my family to a concert at Radio City. The flow of cabs never left us waiting when we needed to get downtown. And next door is a 24 hour deli/restaurant for any food/drinks we needed. We have been to NYC many times but I will always go back to this hotel now that I have had the pleasure of staying there. I wanted to have a massage in my room so called an agancy and arranged it, but when the lady came to reception, called me that they can not let the lady in to the room due to the hotels night policy where they havent made it aware anywhere or written and announced it somewhere, so they better be prepared for that to let the clients know this somehow […] in order to be aware of that policy, even I dont know whether if that was that guys own policy or not and whether the hotel mnmgt is aware about this policy but then I had to go to the massage house to get it instead of the comfort of my hotel room which I have already paid the price of....... This place is conveniently located near all the touristy attractions of times square, but it barely gets over as a hotel. It was very cheap compared to surrounding hotels. As with most things, you get what you pay for. The bed was hard as concrete, and was not the cleanest/well kept room. Shower was dirty. We have stayed at the Hotel St. James several times and will continue to do so. The location can't be beat. One can walk almost anywhere and if you don't want to walk, the subway is right there. As everyone states - Great Location. Margaret at front desk - very, very friendly - loved her! Concierge on Friday - 1/20/12 - not so friendly or helpful. Shower was broken - hope they fixed it by now :) For what we were there for - the hotel was just fine.

The hotel was in such a great location. Right down the street from times square and NBC Studios. The hotel was a little old fashioned, they still use keys which is pretty cool. It was a great stay in my opinion. Rooms are pretty big too. A!!

Might not have the best decor or the basics like an in-room coffee maker but it more than makes up for it in LOCATION and PRICE!

While there was nothing absolutely outstanding about our stay here, I don't have much negative to say either. You get what you pay for! The employees were all very nice and seemed to preform their duties well. Our maid missed a few things, but nothing to write home about. The condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired but the front desk staff was helpful and welcoming. Room was adequate but didn’t feel very clean. The internet was also a problem, very slow and the network had to be re-set frequently. All-in-all, if you are looking for an inexpensive place located near Times Square, the St. James can’t be beat.

Quite small rooms, with refurbished bathrooms. The "sound-proofing" wasn't great, but otherwise it is good value for money.

Deli next door really has good and well-priced food. I felt like I was in a small European Hotel. Friendly people, great location, a little worn around the edges.

I was very pleased with my experience at Hotel St. James. The room was in great condition and clean. The concierge service was very helpful. They got us great seats for Chicago (4 rows from the stage) at a heavily discounted rate. I cannot say enough about the location of this hotel. It is literally about 70 steps away from Times Square. There are many […] delis and restaurants around the hotel. Dunhill Cafe and Cranberry Cafe next door serve up some really good New York style food. Europa Cafe, around the corner, had an OUTSTANDING salad bar and great lunch choices. We could walk to Rockefeller Plaza and also to Central Park. The subway is very close. The staff was very helpful. My flight landed at 4 am and I got to the hotel at 6 am. Although the check-in time was 3 pm they had me in a room by 8 am. The room was in the back of the hotel. Lets face it you don't go to NYC to sit in a hotel room. This hotel is in a fantastic location close to Times Square. Staff were friendly, room was clean. We went in early January, and the only complaint is that the room was very hot. It was cold (I would say in the -15 to -20 degree Celsius range outside) when we got there, and had to open the window […] to cool off the room! But other than that, absolutely no complaints! I'm not sure how this Hotel would be in the summer because I'm not sure that it has air conditioning, but I would definitely go back when the weather is somewhat cool! Great location: in the middle of manhattan, near most subway lines, can walk to anything. The hotel was a great price and the bed was comfortable enough for us to stay a fourth night. The room was clean and comfortable, though the bed was stiff. The staff was very nice and helpful! The deli next door was very good!

For the price we were offered we were expecting a cold dark closet, but our room was comfortable, clean and bright. Reception was always friendly and the room was made up nicely daily. With a great deli next door open 24 hours and Time Square on the corner we highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the hub of Manhattan action.

I got a great rate through hotels.com however the hotel had some minor flaws... The elevators had all sorts of internal damage and graffiti on the brass plates and they had the moving curtains up. The steam register made intermittent banging noises throughout the night which helped to block out the sound of the pigeons mating outside my window. The […] bathroom was clean but I had to use the shampoo to wash with and a VERY small bath towel as a bath mat because the hotel chose to include neither. WIFI was free and my room happened to host one of the access points ( no complaints there ). On a positive note, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming which is sometimes rare. I would certainly stay at this hotel again and hope that the hotel management pay a little closer attention to the little details.
