Perfect - exactly what I wanted. We have stayed in some very nice hotels and this one is among our favorites. The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating - can't wait to return. Also the spa amenities come with the room i.e. jacuzzi, dry sauna, relaxation room, etc.

Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent staff.

Great service, very comfortable room and the bathrooms are beautiful with a big jacuzzi tub. Very conveniently located, right on the edge of all the action of the riverwalk, but not too noisy.

Nice hotel but the rooms did not seem worth the $$ paid. We really wanted a jacuzzi but got a spa bath - bigger than a normal bath but not quite what we had imagined. Great location being near the restaurants on the river front.

I treated my husband to a special weekend at the Mokara Hotel Resort and Spa for his birthday. We were so impressed with the hotel, the location, the staff, the room, and service. I reserved two riverview rooms two months in advance. When I got there, they told me I didn't reserve a room with a view. The front desk didn't offer any options; I got to look at the back of a building. Valet parking, left my car on the side of the road for hours. The restaurant " ostra" had a very rude waitress who seemed prejudist, I had to request […] a change of server. I had a spa service that was less than enjoyable ( even went into the wrong room, that had someone undressed on the table already). This is definitely not worth the money. Never going back. The hotel was first class in every way! The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. It was nice to be surprised by how great a room was!

My wife was greeted with a yellow rose and we were given champaign at check-in. We were escorted to our room that was very nice and the bed was very comfortable This hotel is located on the river walk in a great location that is on a slightly more quite section of the river but near everything. Gives the term "Full Service" a whole new meaning. Attention to detail was beyond expectation's, the hotel was wonderful as was the staff. Best stay on the Riverwalk.

The Mokara Hotel in San Antonio was a superb place to stay, and I am baffled at the 4.5 rating on Hotels.com! It deserves a 10! Beautiful and classy, with great staff whose aim was to be friendly and helpful at all times. We just stayed in a legendary hotel in NYC, but the Mokara put it in the shade.

The service was perfect. The rooms were large and had lofted ceilings. The best part was the bathroom: very clean, large, and it even had a jacuzzi!!? Best hotel I've stayed in for a while.

I had a average time at the Makara Hotel. I had the room with a riverwalk view, the negatives to start with: the tv was from the 1990's which I could not believe, and my rooms carpeting was becoming worn in the walk way areas, and the pillow on the sitting chair was so stained on both sides i had to put it out of my sight. I think its to overpriced […] for the quality. The more positive things are the in room espresso service was great since im a coffee lover and the bath area was a grand size so two people can easily fit in the bath area at the same time. FANTASTIC! Everyone I encountered at the hotel, from the bellman to the maintenance staff could not have been more gracious and accomodating. A wonderful experience! The room was beautiful, bath was excellent, spa was super. This hotel made the grade with flying colors.

This is a very nice hotel - by design, maintenance, ambience, and comfort. I would give it 5 stars if they hadn't thrown away a medical device piece I left behind. When they learned it was expensive, they simply claimed the maid "did not remember it". No attempt at making good, or even apologizing. Of course it is my fault to forget something, but one […] might think a 5-star place should have a mechanism in place to find and store leftovers, especially such obviously expensive ones. I had such a great experience at the Mokara. I was in town for a conference. I loved coming back to my room - felt spa like with a robe and slippers laid out. All the staff I came across from the front desk to bellman to room service were all so friendly and helpful. They made me feel like I was the only guest in the hotel. I felt they really went out […] of their way sometimes. The bathroom was huge and the bed very comfortable. The room was very clean with nice amenities. Location is very nice in the evenings with direct access to the Riverwalk and all the restaurants (and boat ride should you choose to take it). I did not get a chance to check out the spa... My wife and I were looking for a quiet hotel to celebrate our anniversary and the Hotel Mokara fit the bill exactly. Service was great and consistent with a 5 star hotel. The room was nicely appointed (though the TV could use an upgrade). Amenities like no charge pots of delicious coffee delivered to your room and no charge internet serve were included. […] The location was outstanding. Go out the door right onto the riverwalk with plenty of good restaurants very close. The spa amenities (sauna, steam whirlpool) were also included with the stay. All in all a great experience. This is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. My husband and I both agree that this was the best hotel that we have every stayed in. If you visit this hotel, yo must experience the stunning views from the rooftop pool. This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at! The staff are so friendly and really make you feel special, the hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location. The food from the restaurant and cafe is excellent.

The mini bar items and food offered in the room, e.g., peanuts, candy, are very expensive and not very good. Also, the televisions were old and the selection of channels to watch while cooling off in our lovely room were few and not very good. Overall, it was a great stay if you don't mind tipping for everything, including the "comped" items and paying […] a high price to stay there. I don’t typically write reviews, but the Mokara hotel and its staff deserve it. I’ve spent a lot of hotel time in San Antonio in the past due to my work and I’ve stayed in many of the big brand hotels there included some of the historic ones. Let me just say that if I’m ever in San Antonio again and I can help it, I won’t stay anywhere else but the […] Mokara. My wife and I recently stayed there for our anniversary trip and it was just what we needed. Everything from the location, the hotel itself and the staff were great. Our initial greeting was warm and professional. Beautiful lobby. Room…excellent. Bathroom had jetted tub, celing height doors, marble vanity. Very clean and updated. Their turn-down service? Great. Bath crystals, silk sleeping mask, bathrobes presented daily. The hotel is just the right size but very quiet. Rooftop pool/spa with café and food service. While laying out by the pool we were presented with ice cold lemon water, cucumber soaked wash cloths, and Evian facial misters so “we could keep hydrated in the hot sun". The Mokara is beautiful, but by far the best part about this hotel is the location. It was so nice to be able to walk right out of the hotel into the heart of the action on the Riverwalk. In my research, I found many claims of hotels being located on the Riverwalk, but when I looked at a map, I realized they were not close to any of the shops or Riveralk […] destinations, like the Alamo. Staying at the Mokara Hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff always treated us with respect and a how may I serve you attitude. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a relaxing getaway. as well as being able to enjoy the San Antonio Riverwalk.

This is a gorgeous hotel. My room was amazing with a balcony overlooking the riverwalk. Just lovely. I would say the front desk staff was not at all congenial upon arrival and could use a little brushing up on etiquette and respecting privacy. For those (like myself) not accustomed to staying in such a nice place, the room was great for our special occasion. The front desk manager was extremely accommodating to my request and surprised us with a great goodie upon our arrival. The only problem was a noisy air conditioner out in the hall that kept waking us up every 45 minutes. The fantastically fresh raw oysters served by the hotel's restaurant Ostra were the most memorable part about our stay at Mokara. The oysters were sourced from many different regions including the Gulf, Boston, Canada, and several others I can't remember at the moment. My wife and I shared a sampler plate which included 12 oysters along side 12 shrimp. […] We will be visiting Ostra again for the oysters! Mokara's valet and the front desk staff are very kind and very helpful. The valet offered us water when we left the hotel, the front desk kindly took our picture in the lobby, and the room was very clean upon arrival (kudos to the cleaning personnel). My criticism is mainly reserved for the interior designer(s) and the maintenance staff. As for Mokara's hotel room, it looks very good in pictures, but it's not comfortable. I had a hard time sleeping because our mattress was lumpy. Also, the hotel furnishings were just crap. The shower head felt as though it was in dire need of replacement. After years and years of service, the poor shower head simply gushed water instead of spraying into fine lines in its more youthful years. I've experienced better shower heads at Motel 6. The shower door didn't close securely, so there was a nice puddle for me to dry up after I finished. No, the floor mat wasn't any help at all. It was already drenched, so I had to find another towel to help soak it up. If you sit on the bench in front of the bed and lean back, you'll be rudely greeted by an iron bar that is part of the bed frame. Classic interior designer mistake of form over function. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE from a hotel of this price. We didn't have time to visit the spa, maybe on a future stay. But next time we'll be staying at a different hotel. This hotel is great for its location, and its restaurant. But the restaurant and spa can be enjoyed without the need of staying there. I paid for a River or City view and was given a view of a brick wall and air condition ducts. The hotel manager first informed me I would have to pay extra for a view even though I showed him the ad stating the view I had already paid for. He finally offered to change our room but not until the second night of our stay. Though we were not happy about […] the room our bed the first night was extremely comfortable. Our stay at the Mokara was the one of the most memorable stays at a hotel. The staff was always quick to be helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. While staying poolside, we were provided cold wash clothes, water misters and sunscreen. The concierge was extremely knowledgable and helpful. The bedding was high quality and very […] comfortable. The valets were always offering cold water or coffee as we left on excursions and quick to be helpful upon our return. Beautiful boutique hotel. Wonderful oversized room and bath room. Very helpful attentive staff. Highly recommended.

This turned out to be a beautiful hotel with great amenities. I can very easily recommend it to any one. The room was spectacular. The hotel sits along the River Walk, so you can join the fun immediately. For those of you who like exercise, there was an excellent exercise room with great equipment. Good luck

This is property is rated 4.5 out of 5 and it is well deserved. Accomodations were excellent, clean and service was about the best I've ever had. I've stayed in lots of business class hotels in the same price range and the Mokara is one of the best if not the best.

The bathroom had pubic hairs laying around in the toilet, shower and bathroom floor.

The hotel is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Loved it! Right on the riverwalk, close to all must see's in San Antonio.
