Forest Suites Resort - South Lake Tahoe

The room is a bit out dated and worn but clean. It was also so stuffy as the AC didnt seem to work. Luckily we can open windows and the sliding door for fresh air. Location was the best. We were located right across the street from the Heavenly gondola. Woke up in the morning, got the continental breakfast and walked over to the gondola for some boarding […] action. We were lucky to get a 2 bedroom suite when we reserved a 1 bedroom suite. We had an impromptu in-suite party on our last night with the other friends we were travelling with. So this was very convenient given that there were six small kids between the three families. The suite was very comfortable for a family stay with two small kids one of which […] was a 9-month baby. The staff promptly provided a crib when I requested it. . The hotel location is very conventient for doing the gondola rides to heavenly. The kids had fun in the jacuzzi. My bf and I rented the 1 bedroom suite for stay. The suite was roomy and it was nice to relax for the weekend. The room had all the amenities but if you plan to cook in the kitchen, bring some pots/pans as they only had one pot in the kitchen. We loved that it was only walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola and the village. This was so convenient […] that after a long day of riding, we were happy that we were so close. the 2-bed unit we stayed in was very spacious, in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the main gondola The building is probably 30 years old, and although updated/redecorated recently the kitchen and bathrooms are somewhat dated, but serviceable Overall good value, especailly compared with the (new) Marriott accommodation necxt door!

Needs major updating, a new mattress would be a good place to start.

The hotel has a good location. The room we had was a two bedroom suite. it is located a block from casinos, 1/2 a block from shopping and near restaurants. The room had full kitchen two bathroom. Only few things were not the best it could be the windows were all single pane and during a storm they rattled and were drafty. They also did not block out […] sound from noisy people outside late and trucks and snow plow early. The room was always trying to keep the main living room to the set temperature which made the bedrooms too warm. We booked this place so we could be right by the Gondola. It was an awesome location. The room itself wasn't really anything to brag about, it was a typical hotel room. The lights in the first room didn't work, so they moved us to another room within minutes. The second room we needed to plug in the lights. Breakfast was great: hard boiled eggs, fresh […] fruit, waffles, etc. We used the hot tub after skiing all day. I think for what we paid we got a great deal! I would definitely stay here again. Definitely rundown and not the most clean. For the money we paid, I was pretty disappointed in what we got. The bathroom was probably the most disturbing, as far as cleanliness goes. If you're already going to pay $ for a nice stay with close access, spend just a bit more and get a clean room/suite elsewhere. I'm also frustrated with their false advertising […] of 2 Jacuzzi's (only 1), suana (there isn't one), etc. I'm not sure if they're using "creative marketing," but a lot of what they advertise is not an option. Also, the front desk told me that housekeeping sorts through your trash to get recycleables out to take in for money, so if there is something you don't want others seeing-don't throw it in the trash. Don't expect too much...at all!!! If all you want is a bed to rest your head after a day of skiing and a night of going out and bathroom with a flushing toilet - then, this place will do. If you want any amenities, look elsewhere. Free breakfast - generally, they're pretty bad...but, this one takes the cake for being the worst! Gym - nothing in the […] gym works...nothing is maintained. We even called in advance to make sure they had a gym and we received glowing reviews of a bike, treadmill, elliptical, weight machine...none were maintained and nothing worked. When I checked into my room, I thought "this seems really nice! It was, the clerk at the front desk upgraded my room. It actually felt like a home and I wanted to start living there!

For the price we paid it's a good hotel. Rooms are clean and warm (winter time). Location is perfect, we did not use car at all, gondolas, restaurants, shows just 5 minutes away.

This place was awesome. My only regret is that we did not stay more than one night. This place is a great value for the money. We have a very large family and the room and staff was more than acomidating, The one problem we did run in to was that the elevator was very small.

I doubt if you can find a better location: the ski gondola actually crosses over the roofs of the resort and is a short walk to the loading/unloading area; State Line is a short 2 blocks away; same for the Lake; good shopping 1/2 block away. However, the rug of my room looked so dirty that I made certain I never walked on it in my bare feet. One teeny […] waste basket in the bathroom only. No mini refrig. Dabinets and furniture outdated. 2 chairs but no small table. The drapes felt dusty and terribly outdated. No grab bars in shower, nor non-slip strips in bottom of tub. I stayed 2 nights but the cleaning staff took my wash cloths so I had none for the second day. The lounge was nicely decorated and in good condition, but when you stood at the check-in counter, you could see badly worn carpet literally taped together behind the counter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking can be a problem. Mid afternoon on the first day I could find no parking and had to park in the public parking garage across the street from my unit & had to pay a parking fee. The stairs up to my unit on the 2nd floor were shabby and I'm pretty sure not according to code, since the final step was abnormally high. Obviously the investment group which owns this property are trying to put as little money into the place in a mistaken belief that this will mean more return on their investment. The location, parking and room size (we had a 1 BR) are great. Unfortunately the facility has not been updated in a long time... dingy, old carpets and odor mostly. Room furhishings were spartan but adequate. The elevator is almost claustrophobic ... you can barely turn around.

Wonderful hotel. Booked King size bed, regular room. Was told we were upgraded to one bedroom suite and when we got to our room it was a 2 bedroom suite. Staff very nice and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room in rather poor state of repair. Bed was too hard and pillows too hard. Air conditioner didn't function adequately.

The hotel is nice, very conveniently located. It is a bit old but rooms are spacious.

Called on a Thursday, requesting a Friday night stay. Granted early check-in. The hotel staff could not be friendlier. Professional staff, great pool and hot tub, nice one-bedroom suite, perfect location. I'll come back for sure! Only request, better lighting for reading. Thank you!

The location is perfect, right behind Heavenly's gondola from where we took our hiking trips, and next door to a supermarket and many restaurants...even a movie theatre, all walkable. I did not mind the dated conditon of the hotel. Suites are roomy. Maids and maintenance very friendly. After 2 days some irritating things will bother you. There seems […] to be no supervision of the hotel or grounds whatsoever. Ignoring the rules, groups of partiers converged at the pool every morning with glass beer bottles everywhere. Bears knock over the garbage cans at night because they're stuffed with food. Breakfast is nice, if you don't mind homeless guys stuffing their pockets with food and leaving. The location & cleanliness of the room was great. We were pleasantly surprised to be ugraded to a 2BR/2B room. However, the room/furniture are outdated. My kids loved the pool. Overall, we would definitely stay there again!

This is an older hotel, but it was a great price for what we had. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which was more like a 2 bedroom apartment. Everything was clean and all appliances worked great. It was also a very short walk to the casinos and very convenient. I would stay here again!

Our room was a good value for the money. It was close to restaurants, shopping, movies, all sorts of activities. The beach is only a couple blocks away. We parked our car at the hotel and walked to everything. That was the best. Thank you.

The location of the hotel was GREAT. It's walking distance from all the major Lake Tahoe attractions. The area seemed secure and the outside premises were well maintained. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. However... The bed was very stiff and the AC had a difficult time keeping the room cool, which shouldn't be a difficult task in Lake […] Tahoe - the high temp was 80 degrees and the low was in the upper 40s. This place was great for my family. Close to casinos and main area of South shore. They provided the private beach pass too. The comp breakfast wasnt so great but overall we enjoyed our stay. While the place is a little old, the rooms are big, comfortable and convenient. I would recommend to anyone with a family.

I decided to go to south lake just for 1 night with about 7 friends. The location was perfect if you are wanting to be close to the night life (which is what we were there for) it was only about a 5 min walk to the casinos, and close to grocery stores, restaurants etc. We stayed in the 2 bdrm suite which was PERFECT for a large group...there was more […] than enough sleeping room for everyone. It was literally the size of a apartment, i wish i couldve of planned it to where we stayed 2 night instead of 1! The only thing that i was dissatified with was the comfort of the beds/pillows...they were not very comfortable. Good continental breakfast, suite was roomy, very quiet, nice service, great location. Linens were stinky, carpets and walls were yucky. Perfect if it were fresher or had new paint/carpet Good for the price ***

We liked the location and convenience of this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. They offered a beach pass without us having to ask and parking for two cars was free. Our room was clean and spacious with new paint and furniture in good condition and style. The rooms were a tad bit run down. In contrast to the hotel lobby which was in good shape. However, you couldn't be closer to the gondola. That's what counts for skiers.

I've stayed at Forest Suites six times - three times in a suite and three times in a hotel style room. The suites are the better option, especially in the newer wing. The suites have a small kitchen which is great. The hotel rooms have no such amenities. The free breakfast buffet has limited options but they suit me just fine. The selection of fruit, […] cereal, waffles, bread and bagels to toast, peanut butter, honey, butter, boiled eggs, juices, teas, coffee and milk is more than enough for me to choose from before a day of skiing. The hotel was located in a great area of S. Lake Tahoe, which was the only good part of this property! There were stains on the pillowcases and sheets and the bathroom was not cleaned very well. The cold air came through the ¼” gap under the door and the 20-year old funky heater worked intermittently. We asked to change rooms, but the room two doors […] down was just as bad as the one we wee staying in, so we just stayed in the dumpy room (306). I am still wondering what part of this property is classified as a RESORT? This was a bad experience and it will be a long-long time (maybe never) before I ever use your service to book a hotel...and I will never stay at this property ever again!!! Lisätietoja

Really liked the location of this place, close to everything to make the stay comfortable and fun. Rooms were as I was expecting nothing superlative but adequate.
