Overall, not a bad place to stay. Two problems: room was not ready when we got there at 4:30 and the walls are paper thin. We could clearly hear everything going on in the room next to ours and I don't think they were being overly loud. On the plus side, location is great! Next to the beach and close to Cal Poly. Everything was wonderful, service, location. I only rated the cleanliness lower because there was cigarette smoke coming from my bathroom vent and I thought this was a non-smoking hotel. Keeping the bathroom door shut seemed to help, but it was overwhelming when I needed to go into the restroom. : (

Only stayed one night but the room was roomy, clean, overlooking the sea and had a gas fireplace. In the misty morning, saw a small group of dolphins making their way north along the shoreline.

Hotel was nice. Some rooms were under construction when I was there. Rooms were nice, the pictures make it seem nicer then it really is. Over all, I'd stay there again.

My stay was very nice

The Spyglass Hotel was clean and location was perfect for our needs, quite and comfortable.

A couple of miles from pismo beach. But closer to hot springs. The staff was very helpful.

Arrived late Friday night for a weekend stay at the Spyglass Inn. The room was very nice-large clean and nice furniture. We had a patio-though shared with the next room, so no privacy. Short walk to the cliffs from our room. The on-site restaurant had excellent food and we dined there for dinner and breakfast. Overall the room was very satisfactory […] and we had a great time. I would recommend getting an upstairs room considering that if you get a room on the first floor (the only rooms that have fireplaces and walkout access to the cliff-side) and there is anyone in the room above you, you WILL hear every step they take and the floor boards squeak with every stomp! The people above me paced back and forth across the room […] until 2 am and then started back up at 7 am. So if you want to get any sleep book a second floor room! Or request a room that no one is checked into directly above you (but its not guaranteed that someone won't check in later). Other than that I like this hotel, if you walk down the path a little ways there are steps that lead down to a little beach and some neat tide pools! Its also close to the freeway a short drive to downtown and the restaurant on site is pretty good. The hotel staff is also very nice. Keep in mind that this is an older hotel and is quite quaint, so if you're looking for luxury, this isn't it, though I think its beach-y charm matches that of Pismo itself--quiet, and relaxing. Hotel is located on cliffs above ocean. The hotel immediately next door cost 4x as much, so the value here is fantastic

Disappointing and expensive. The fact that it is very close to the beach doesn't really add much. I like hotels to be super clean. It's passable, but not super clean. Was very dusappointed to have two small dogs in the next room who were growling and snarling part of the time and then woke me at 3:45 am barking! The sound barrier between the rooms was almost non existant.

The room was very dark and badly in need of updating. The sliding glass door to the outside was filthy and the room, in general, did not look clean. We stayed two nights and did not get room service. We were told that the "do not disburb" sign was on the door handle; however, we had made a point to make sure it was off so they would go in a make up […] the bed, leave clean towels, etc. It was also very expensive for what we got. Understand that there was a premium for rooms because of Thanksgiving weekend, but what we paid was pretty outrageous. The staff was pleasant, but inexperienced. We had a great room looking directly over the bluff. The room, although a bit dated, was clean and beautifully maintained. The service was fine. We had dinner at the attached restaurant and found that to be the only flaw. The service was pretty awful as was any of the food that wasn't deep fried. Having said that, the fish and chips were pretty great. […] Don't think you'll be having anything healthy there though! On our way back we tried to get a room without a reservation and we were given the option of a room with a partial view. That room was definitely not worth the price as it looked over the parking lot and only had a very small and distant ocean view. when you flipped the bedspread back, you can see white satins, tha look like slivia or something else I don't want to name. We took both spreads off, they were both soiled. There is no excuse for dirty bed linen. You wonder what else has been recycled ?

Awsome sunsets, really enjoyed the direct oceanfront view, and access to restaurants. A nice central location to visit wineries, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo. Friendly staff! Only suggestion: please clean under bed? Thanks plan to return.

my girlfriend and i had a great time ,very nice rooms and the best view ever,plan to go back soon,very very romantic..

Very convenient location, just out of the freeway. I arrived at 2am and was warmly welcomed. Room was clean and i slept well. Stayed only overnight as on my way to another location. A nice and affordable stop when travelling across California

very pleasant stay--easy access to view shoreline and water---close to restaurants etc--nice layout

A great location, walking distance from the beach front. From our balcony, we had a view of the beach.

You are in a great location. Short walk to beach, right by 101, close to town. Hotel is def dated. Beds r uncomfortable, toilet loose, shower head pulled out from wall. Won't be staying again. Front desk staff was very nice and spyglass restaurant food was good. Try cottage inn or the cliffs. Cleaner!!!

A prime spot in Pismo Beach to watch the sunset and the beautiful views of the ocean. Rooms just seem a little worn down and could use a refresh on the furnishings.

This place rocks!! The view is awesome, the grounds are laid out beautifully. Beach access is about a 1/4 mile walk. Our room was great, had a fireplace and the bed was really comfortable. I would stay there again!

The hotel was welcoming and spotless. The restaurant served a wonderful array of breakfasts and the service was very helpful. The view and path alone the cliff was spectacular.
