Very decent family style resort. It is relatively small, so everything is right there: pool, restaurant, lobby and the beach. However, if you are looking for variety of restaurants and entertainment in the resort this is not right place for you to go. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Way too many problems to describe but here are main ones: 1) Rooms were smelly and not clean at all 2) Linens were over-used and need immediate replacement 3) Water pressure in sink as well as shower was extremely low 4) Customer service was very poor.

The location of awesome! The beach is beautiful and not crowded. The only thing was there was a wedding party there the week we were and they hogged the seats by the pool bar and did not let anyone else have time by the bar. The food was very good off the menu, and we had all inclusive and could order all our meals off the menu. We did not do all-inclusive as there are too many great restaurants in the area to try. Staff was incredible and very attentive. The concierge was patient, knowledgeable, and gave us great advice on a tour. Breakfast was a buffet of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, potatoes (or rice & beans), bacon (or sausage)....in other words more than adequate and filling. […] There were daily activities and when we were there (Feb 2013) the pool was not crowded at all and very clean. Hotel location was perfect and only steps away from a lovely beach which was great...front desk services "Augusto" was suberb service greeted everytime with a smile and quick service for all requested....good food at the restaurant with ocean view, great bar at the pool too. Everything clean.

The Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa was a great place to stay at the end of our vacation. We stayed there with a group of friends in January for 2 nights so that we could finish our month long vacation with a bang. From the time that we checked into the hotel we felt relaxed. It was located on the ground floor and had sliding doors out to the pool area. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! The pool was also great and had a view of the ocean, which was nice. FBR is a great beach side resort with happy and pleasant staff. Located across the best beach in the area. Amazing sunsets! We had so many room problems almost every day. No Hot water for two days. Very low Shower pressure However, Staff is very responsive and courteous. No towels at the Pool.

Most beautiful seeming private beach, picturesque pool, great staff and adaventure booking agents. Felt like I won a free upgrade or something. Girlfriend and I had a fantastic time!

The hotel staff was exceptional - always friendly and willing to assist in every way. Our room was very well kept with fresh linens and very clean. We thought the hotel was beautiful. We would do this again!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Flamingo. It was family friendly, close proximity to beach ( access road before beach not an issue ), and a nice beach free of other hotels. The staff was very helpful, the concierge went out of her way to help us find a used surf board shop. Nice pool with swim up bar. The food staff was amazing and very courteous. It was easy to book an excursion through the hotel and the jet ski/ snorkel was a blast!

Wonderful resort with a wonderful staff. We couldn't have been happier. The breakfast buffet was always amazing. The setting was perfect. There were eateries nearby to stroll to and we always felt safe and well tended-to. The only warning we might include in this review is that this is a tropical location with high humidity so there are no carpets anywhere […] in the resort. The tile and marble floors get very slippery. Bring and wear sandles with a good tread on them. I slipped the first day and sported a nice shiner on my left eye for the duration of the trip. The entire Guanacaste coast is fairly rural so if you are picturing beach town go to tamarindo. This hotel is a great resort by costa rica standards and I highly recommend it based on affordability for what you get. I had a nice stay at the Flamingo Resort. At checkin they put me in a room with 2 double beds and not much of a view. After talking with the desk clerk that I had reserved a room with a king bed and a pool view. I was told that this is all they had that they were full and there is added charges for a view. I showed them my res from Expedia and they […] told me that they have a room for me. They moved me to the new room with a king bed and a great view of the pool. The rest of my stay was nice and relaxing. The food there was a little pricey but there are some nice resturants in the area. The pool is great with a swim up bar and a ledge that is just below the water for tanning and staying cool. I seen some wonderful sunsets from there and the beach is quit nice also. The staff were all nice and friendly that made for a pleasant stay. I loved the open lobby and corridories that let the breezes flow through the building. There are lots of interisting plants and iguanise and trees to see. When I go back to Costa Rica I will stay at the Flamingo Resort again and recommend the resort to friends. Lisätietoja

b4 we even left for vacation had emailed tourist desk never received a response from.wanted to know if we should book our tours in advance since we went during the week of easter . so after two emails i then emailed the reservations desk, never received an email back from them either. that was kind of dissapointing way to start off our vacation. then […] i call as we are leaving ny 2 request 2 beds, yea sure no problem.arrive only one bed have 2get us anothe room which was in teh basement of the hotel terrible odor and room smelt moldy and mold in bathroom. called front desk for new room said no there arent any, wasnt until i called 2nd time a room opened up.hotel which is open to the outisde had a sewerage smell, later found out was ocean red tide! understand soemthing they coudnt control, but the ocean was unswimmabel the least they coudl have done was offer us a free dirnk at the pool bar because that was the only place we coudl hangout. my friend tried going to teh beach twice but the smell was to awful for her, othe rdownpoint was the casino itny bar, 2 tables, and a machine roulette. i tried out the gym one day and the machine creeked the whole time it was such a piece of garbage on another note we had a blackout about 5 minutes no big deal. breakfast every morning consisted of fruit cereal yogurt etc if the water was clear and not smelly and not harmful to our skin if we ahd an open cut, my experience tehre would have been differetn obviously. Everyone was so kind: The security guard outside, lobby, housekeeping, restaurants... It has been one of the best experiences in a hotel and truly recommend it! :)

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Flamingo Beach. We had a few issues with charging food/drinks to our room initially, but once it was taken care of, there were no problems. We stayed in 2 seperate rooms, one of which didn't have a fridge - but this actually turned out to be ok because we didn't need it. The pool is beautiful and the swim […] up bar amazing. There is also immediate access to the beach from the pool. Some of the bartenders were absolutely incredible at making drinks and typically never skimped on the alcohol. All of the staff members were friendly, courteous, and spoke very good English. The breakfast buffet was also amazing. On a few occasions, ordering off the menu proved to have slow service, but we weren't too bothered by this. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would gladly stay here again. Lisätietoja

We were at this hotel for our honeymoon and had a great time. One issue was that there were no elevators for the second floor rooms. The location is great - perfect beach location! The food at the restaurant was wonderful, service was not always as good.

Great Hotel and location. The only thing I have negative to say is that is does not have room service after 9:30 pm and no other place in the hotel to get something to eat late at night. Besides that, loved our stay.

This hotel is a little run down and needs some attention. The dining areas are not very inspired and the menu items aren't varied enough. Those who purchased an all-inclusive package got a pretty good deal. Those who ordered off the menu were overcharged. I got sick after eating the ceviche the first night. Great location, great beach. Don't listen to the malcontents that complain about the hotel not really being on the beach. It is on the beach with a lightly traveled gravel road between the actual hotel property and the sandy beach. BIG deal. The beach vendors were friendly and courteous. The hotel pool is large and nice. I would not recommend the all […] inclusive option however. There are a number of very good, and i mean very good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Prices are 1/3 less than home. If you really need to get wasted everyday while on vacation then the all inclusive might be worth it. We had a great stay at the Flamingo Resort. It was very clean, the food was awesome (particiularly the breakfast buffet), the view of the sunset was amazing, and the staff was helpful. Absolutely recommend this resort to others staying in the area.

althought we resreve 2 double beds, they had only king bed room. We stayed for 4 nights so they gave us a suit for 2 nightrs and made us change the room for the other 2 nights, which was uncomfertable! The suit wae nice but the regular room are very simple like 3 star hotel in the US! The hotel has a great game room with ping pong, pool and other games. At […] 8 oclock you already cannot find a chair at the pool...wake up at 7 if you would like one! The beach is graet and the sunset is awsom. Beach has high surf and warnings for riptides make swimming risky. If you like quiet resort and beach, this is great. For us, we would have preferred staying closer to a big town like Tamarindo for access to more food and activity choices. I just went with a friend for a short getaway and we could not have had a better time! We did not get the all-inclusive which would have been a waste for us as we do not frink that much. If you do, then get the all inclusive because drinks are about $9. There is a restaurant called Marie's right across the street from Flamingo hotel. I HIGHLY recommed […] it. Not expensive and GREAT food! Everyone at the hotel was EXTREMELY nice and helpful and went out of their way for you. I am considering going back! The best time to go we heard is the dry season which starts in December. We did not have a drop of rain. It was perfect weather the entire time! The other thing that is very helpful is transportation from to and from the airport. Use Ecotran! They only charge $20 per person where you will pay double that with anyone else.
