Miellyttävä pieni hotelli kohtuuhintaan. Huone oli valoisa, avara, siisti, kaikki toimi hyvin. Paras mannermainen aamiainen niistä hotelleista, missä ollaan tällä matkalla oltu: tavanomaisen "pulla-aamiaisen" lisäksi oli erilaisia pikapuurohiutaleita, jogurttia sekä hedelmiä.

Hotellin sijainti oli tosi hyvä. Yöllä pientä meteliä, mutta oltiinhan suurkaupungissa. Ruokapaikat lähellä ja hyvä aamiaispaikka ihan vieressä.

Hinta-laatusuhde oli mielestäni kohdallaan. Tämänhintaiselta hotellilta ei tietenkään voi odottaa viiden tähden laatua, mutta huone olis siisti ja riittävän tilava, ja sijainti oli erinomainen.

Hotelli sijaitsi kivalla pienemmällä paikkakunnalla noin 20 minuutin ajomatkan päästä SF:n downtownista. Autolla oli kätevä liikkua (hotellissa ilmainen parkkipaikka!). Mutta myös vajaan 2 km:n päästä kulkevalla BART:llakin pääsee helposti SF:n keskustaan. Hotelli oli todella siisti ja hyväkuntoinen. Myös hintaan sisältyvä aamiainen oli kattava (tarjolla mm. puuroa, hedelmiä, jogurttia). Hotellin henkilökunta oli hyvin ystävällistä. Suosittelen hotellia etenkin San Franciscon automatkaajille!
"Quaint and Convenient"
The location is very convenient to Union Square and to the meeting I was attending on Nob Hill. The hotel is small, very quaint, quite comfortable. The staff is pleasant and cooperative. They hailed me a cab on a very busy Saturday night when cabs were about as scarce as hen's teeth.

This Inn is adorable! We were extremely pleased with the charming decor in the public areas as well as in our spacious room. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The breakfasts were tasty, but not overly plentiful--more like European style than American--and coffee and tea are available all day. Rooms are equipped with a kitchen sink and a refrigerator […] with complimentary soft drinks and water. It is close to Union Square and Chinatown, but not right in the hub, so it is less noisy. "Oasis in Downtown San Francisco"
Wonderful small older hotel with lots of character. A bit quirky with the old wallpaper, English overtones, and old-fashioned door keys, but easy to overlook with the spacious rooms with a fireplace, nicely updated bathrooms, and complementary wine and appetizer receptions in the evening and extensive breakfast selections in the morning. "The White Swan - Very comfortable"
The fireplace in the room was a great touch, as were the other ammenities...Mini-fridge with free water and soda, wine reception in the evening (food was above average). I never made the breakfast, as I rarely do on vacation. This will be where i stay when I go back to S.F.

No air conditioning and when hot the absence of screens on windows led to a choice between being hot or innundated with mosquitos and flies. Bed smaller than normal size queen bed and uncomfortable. Breakfast OK, but coffee was terrible.

We really liked the "shabby chic" French-style decor of The White Swan Inn. We particularly enjoyed the Happy Hour buffet which was provided each day and was especially welcome after a long day of sight-seeing. This was a very comfortable hotel with an excellent buffet breakfast. The only drawback was when people forgot to close the lift doors properly […] after use which meant that it couldn't come when called. A notice on the lift door would remedy this. "Fantastic stay at a great price!"
Perfect! We had an immense room- a suite really, with gas fireplace, walk-in closet and wet bar/mini-fridge/coffee station nook. Fresh cookies during the day, free water and soft drinks in the fridge, full breakfast including a new quiche everyday, and wine in the evening fro 5-7 in their ground floor lounge area. This is a pleasant bed and breakfast feeling hotel - what many call a boutique hotel. Its a reasonable value for SF especially if you are a bit adventurous and don't mind quirky. Whats quirky? The small old style elevator, and the very helpful but not quite polished staff. The rooms are fine though the building shows its age a bit. Bathroom and shower […] could be a bit more modern but again this is a good value. Location is fine for us as we were happy to walk about. "Great Service"
The thing that most impressed me about the White Swan, is the service of all the staff which is exceptional. My wife had a birthday during our stay and one of the staff saw me writing her card. The next day a birthday card, cupcakes with candles, tin of chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine had been left for her. This made our stay that little bit […] special and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I do agree with some of the comment, yes hotel is "Old" but in a charming way. Our room was great fireplace, books, antiques and teddybears the most comfortable and highest hotel bed I have slept in. My only negative comment is the reception area need a little TLC as it is not up to the very good standard of the other public rooms which are nicely decorated and echo the English theme well. "B&B Feel in heart of The City"
We loved our stay at The White Swan. The staff was delightful and helpful at every turn. The location was great given where we wanted to go. The room was cozy, spacious and comfortable. The amenities were terrific - including a complete breakfast, free internet access, and a nightly wine reception that featured something different every evening, from […] fresh veggies to a warm potato salad. There were a couple of hiccups. Our bed the first night was way too soft, but the next moring we asked and were immediately moved to a room with a perfect bed. Internet access was down the first day, but it was AT&T's issue and was corrected the next morning. And there wasn't a desk/table in either room we saw that was suitable for writing or a computer. "A gem of a hotel"
This hotel was a delight to be in, and very cosy with its multitude of china tea pots, plates and all sorts of British memorabilia displayed in the lounge - we really felt we were at home! We were in Room 34, the bed was very comfortable, big, and decorated with loads of pillows and an adorable teddy bear. What made my husband's day was the fireplace […] in the room - he would sit every night in front of it and watch TV. It is 2 blocks away only from Union Square, 4 blocks to Chinatown, and approx 10 minutes walk to the Powell-Hyde cable car and all of the various restaurants/shops in, or around Union Square. The Mozart restaurant, opposite the hotel is very good, and so is Toni Sushi if you like sushi (1 block from the hotel) . The White Swan Inn's breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices, and every afternoon they have a good cheese & wine reception in the lounge from 5.00 to 6.30pm. They also have delicious home made cookies in a jar at the reception area, where you can help yourself. We were surprised by all this hotel had to offer for the price: convenient location, large room, comfortable bed, lots of windows for natural light (our room had no view but there was little street noise) fireplace, stocked frig, evening reception, hot breakfast, and a front desk staff focused on customer service. "Great Hotel!"
This was a wonderful surprise. The place was like stepping back in time. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, great amenities- I would stay here again and again. Even though it was an old hotel, the amenities did not suffer. The parlor and fresh baked cookies were a nice touch, and the breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel.

The hotel is very well located at the bottom of Nob Hill, away from the crowds along Union Square. The staff is very welcoming, the hotel clean, tidy, but showing its age.

This was a great hotel with a lot of character. The only complaint I have is that there was a dull noise coming from outside that cause the window by the bed to rattle a little. It was very subtle at first, but by the morning it was kind of driving me crazy. I guess it's to be expected in a very old building. Rooms are great although not decorated to my taste (very country, way too much floral going on). The elevator is old and rickety and did not work when I had to leave. I called the front dest for my car but no one answered the phone. I had to drag my 40lb suitcase and 20 lb duffle bag down five stories. It was not a pleasant way to leave. We had an interior room, never heard noise. It was very nice. The breakfast was just okay. The wine service was nice, but by 5:15 all they had was wine, nothing had been cleaned or replenished. I was dissappointed by the lack of chocolate that I had read about!

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. Somehow my reservation was lost but they were quick to make sure that we still got the room we paid for. Hotel was located a block away from a Cable Car stop. Used the valet service twice and it saved us time looking for a hard to find parking spot. This is the third time we've stayed at this hotel which is conveniently located near Union Square. From the hotel you can catch a taxi to just about anywhere for about $6. You can also walk to several good restaurants and shopping. The hotel provides complimentary water and soft drinks in the in-room refrigerator. Travellers should keep in mind that this is in the heart of the city which means you will hear typical city noises such as traffic and sirens. "Perfect"
We love this hotel. A small, familary hotell. With nice breakfast. There is not much but enough. With both hot and cold food. And nice sweeties and fruit. If we are going to SF another time we will definitely live here.

Wie schon oben geschrieben, war das Hotel sehr schön ausgestattet, das Personal sehr freundlich und die Lage ist auch sehr gut. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls gut und es gab nachmittags ab 17 Uhr Wein und einige Snacks dazu! Wir würden jederzeit wieder in das Hotel gehen!!

"Mysigt blommigt hotell"
Jag och min man bodde på hotellet i 4 nätter. Läget är bra. Snabb och smidig incheckning. Allt är blommigt! Mysigt rum med behändig "köksdel" och öppen spis. Frukosten var varierade och bra. Ibland kunde det vara lite tjockt med folk och ibland tog frukostmaten tillfälligt slut, men fylldes på relativt fort. "Receptionen" på eftermiddagen/kvällen […] med vin var lysande. Een heel prettig hotel in hartje San Fransico, valkbij Union Square etc. Mooie ruime kamers met open haard en heerlijke bedden.

sehr schönes komfortables gut gelegenes Hotel, gemütliche Zimmerausstattung (mit funktionierendem Kamin!), alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet zum wohlfühlen. Sehr gutes Frühstück inklusive! Und abends gibt es kostenlos einen (oder zwei) Wein mit Gebäck im großzügigen Kaminzimmer. Super-Hotel, absolute Empfehlung!
