Room good except for the poor sound proofing - children running around above sounded like a herd of elephants & a child screaming in neighbouring room very audible. We were only in Milton Keynes for 1 night on a shopping trip, but found the Novotel to be exactly what was required for an overnight stay. Would happily stay there again.

Good location. Only a few minutes drive to shopping centre and the theatre district. Nice looking hotel with pool but we didn't use it. We had some issues with the room we had been allocated at check in and after swapping with other guests we eventually got a double bed and sofa and they got family rooms with three beds and not much space to move! The […] bed was comfy and there is a separate toilet and bathroom. Breakfast was included in our package. We arrived at the restaurant and had to queue to get a table and then had to plan what to eat as it was replenished due to the amount of people eating. However breakfast was good. Ultimately this was a nice hotel even if it is a little tired and needs a bit more organisation in some areas. We would stay here again and feel the price we paid was good value and very competitive. We arrived about 9pm on a Monday and the hotel reception and restaurant/bar area was pleasantly busy with people socialising, which made a change from the hushed, deserted public areas we often find. if we'd been staying more than one night we would have been pleased to use the gym and swim facilities.

Maid forgot 1 bath towel first day. Upon notification, it was promptly provided. Could use more vegetarian options in the restaurant menu.

We booked this hotel to break up our return journey home from our holiday, the "Executive room" that I had booked was not good, I was given a very small, outdated room that smelled of diesel, it was that bad that we left soon after checking in and went home...

Hotel comfortable. Nice gym and pool with sauna and steam room. Breakfast good and freshly cooked. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you will need a taxi into town. Good for parking and easy to find

I was turned off by the poor service from staff. We were assigned rooms that was already occupied, not once but twice and the most disappointing was our credit card declined at dinner (not sure why) and we asked to use the reception phone to make a toll free call to the credit card company and was told to go back to the room so that the charges for […] the call would apply. We then told the Dining room to charge it to our room not knowing our credit card was not on file. They called the room around 10pm (we were sleeping from jet lag) that night to either bring a credit card down stairs or pay with cash. I asked if issue could be addressed the next day and was told no......very poor service and certainly consider all other options before booking another stay at this hotel Lisätietoja

Overall the hotel is pleasant but in the bedroom one side of the bed is far too close to the wall and very inconvenient. The air conditioning unit was very noisy. Having the toilet seperate to the bathroom seems unhygenic as guests touch door handles and light switches before being able to wash their hands. I booked this hotel based on a stay in the Novetel in Liverpool City Centre which provided excellent service and modern clean facilities. Unfortunately my expectation wasn't met. I found the welcome on arrival slightly unfriendly and my issue with the unpleasant room odours seemed to fall on deaf ears. I've stayed here 3-4 times over the last few years - and while the staff remain friendly (and very international!) the hotel itself is starting to look like it needs an overhaul. Blankets on the sofabed were very pilled and well worn, the towels in the bathroom were plentiful, very clean - but rather threadbare with tatty edges... the mattresses on […] the sofa bed were awful - all springs and lumps & bumps. The main double bed was comfortable - but I've slept on much more comfy ones in hotels recently. TV was fine, however, it makes sense to have screens with a built in DVD player these days - no extra space to find or likely for a unit to be pinched and it would have helped with entertainment for the evening. On the plus side, staff were friendly, cleaning staff polite, tea/coffee facilities adequate, room was clean as was bedding, plenty of spare pillows if required, bathroom beautifully clean and decent complimentary toiletries. All that said, it was only a bed for 2 nights, I didn't get time to use any of the other facilities or sample the restaurant this trip. Can't believe we're still charging for wi-fi these days - although the lovely desk staff did seem to have forgotten to charge me for it on check out.. so just be nice when you ask about it! The main reception area is funky and has a Mac for internet access. The pool is small but warm and perfectly adequate. My only criticism is the air conditioning did not heat the room significantly enough. Even set to 25 degrees, it was only blowing out slightly warm air.

We needed somewhere for the 4 of us for one night, and this fit the bill perfectly. The room was very clean, though cosy since the sofa had been turned into 2 seperate beds. I upgraded to an exec room for the internet after reading some of the other review. The room was definitely not of a exec standard.The hose on the shower was split and projected water over the bathroom when in use. I told reception about this and it remained unfixed for the duration of my stay. I didn't receive the complimentary water in my room, again […] spoke to reception regarding this and this was still not provided. Phoned reception to get the code for the internet on the second night and nobody answered the phone, despite trying 3 times and holding for 5 minutes each time. The coffee machine was dirty on checking in to the room, which was fixed when we told reception. The cleaning of the room wasn't great. A plastic tag that was on the floor when we arrived stayed in the same place 3 days, the hoovering wasn't done. The bed was not changed or properly made. The hotel is nice, but was spoilt by having room at end of corridor, and arriving to find room absolutely freezing. despite leaving heat on all night, we had to,sleep,in t,shirts and have noisy fan blowing out warm air all night. As we had booked a family room and had a child, we felt this was unacceptable.

We stayed with our two kids who lived the swimming pool. The beds are a bit too firm for our liking and the ventilation for the bathrooms is non existent. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Overall a good hotel and an enjoyable stay.

I arrived at the Hotel to be informed that they had received a cancelation for my booking and they had no rooms left. I showed them my confirmation and they were very appologetic. They couldn't tell when or why it had been cancelled but did offer to find me an alternative hotel. They managed to get me into Horwood House which was good but another 40 […] minute drive away. We had a lovely two night stay at the Novotel. We booked an executive room for the three of us and the sofa bed was made up ready for my daughter when we arrived. The facilities in the room were excellent with a safe, mini fridge, espresso machine, tv, iron etc. The bathroom was of a good size and had a powerful shower The swimming pool was a good […] size and not too warm unless you went in the steam room or sauna :) The other facilities of the hotel were of a good standard with a modern iMac for web browsing, an Xbox with a racing game for children and if you are on your own tables for one with a personal TV. The only blip was dinner on the Saturday night. We waited 30 minutes to get a table and another 30 to get our food but restaurant was less than half full. Service at bar wasn't much better and several tables had ordered pizza to be delivered as a result. It looked as if they were at least a bar staff and two waiters short. On Sunday I asked why there were so few staff and was told that Saturdays are usually quite in the hotel bar/restaurant and that was the normal staffing level. That didn't ruin our stay at all but it certainly was annoying on the first night as we arrived late'ish and had chosen a hotel with a late restaurant especially for this reason. The hotel is a little further from the centre than expected. Certainly not walkable! Although the rooms are typical Novotel format, quite large but fairly basic, they were quite acceptable. The small fitness suite and pool are also very pleasant,. Had the pool to myself for a while late afternoon! The main letdown was the staff. Although pleasnt enough, […] they really appeared as though they had just walked in off the street and had received little or no traiining. I ordered a starter and a main course for dinner. After a rather long wait, both were delivered to my table together. The food was mediocre. Two miniscule crab cakes for a starter, and not a miniscule price. Burger for main course, probably kept warm whilst I ate my starter! Very average. Service slow all through the meal.
