"Maintenance issues"
My friend and I booked a suite with a hot tub in it. When we turned the water on for the hot tub, water was leaking out of the faucet, so we put a towel around it. When I went to turn the hot water down, the faucet fell into the tub and water went literally everywhere. Maintenance showed up, looked at it, then left never to be seen or heard from again. […] I called the front desk to ask if it would be fixed and they said no and moved us to a much smaller room. nothing was done or said web we departed the next morning. Very poor service. "Loud Neighbor"
Everything was wonderful, I was even allowed to check in early (at a price, but it was worth it) we were getting ready for a wedding. However, at about 3:30 AM I was awakened by the guest in the next room who decided to have a heart to heart screaming match laced with profanities. It went on for a while. I figured someone else would probably call it […] in, but when I checked out at 5:45 AM, the front desk said no one had reported anything. I know it's not the hotel's fault, but it happened none the less. Everything else was wonderful and I was so happy to be accommodated with the early check in. It saved the wedding!! THANKS! "Holiday Inn Express in Columbia"
Great location, good price, unbeatable breakfast. My only ding was the office chair in the room. I am a business traveller and the chair was too short and a bit uncomfortable. I saw this same chair in other rooms and in the business center, so I don't think it was just mine. Other than that, good value for the money.
Not as close to center of town, but was a great hotel and was very quiet. Would definitely recommend and will stay there again.

"Convenient location, deadly traffic"
The Holiday Inn Express in Columbia, SC is located within a 20 minute walk from a variety of restaurants, bars, and clubs, and close to the state house, museum, and visitor's center. The challenge is making it across the street to get to them. Taylor, on which the hotel is located, is a 6-8 lane street with no apparent speed limit. Waits at lights are […] long and iffy. And drivers tend to be minimally aware of the presence of pedestrians. It is indicative that Columbia has the fewest bicycles on the street of the six cities we have visited this tour. The hotel was very good, except our admittedly inexpensive room had a particular unidentifiable odor that was persistent and no one could define. And when we considered that getting run over was worse than an odd smell, we developed a healthy perspective. Lisätietoja
The front desk staff left alot to be desired. They were disorganized and not helpful at check in I had to have Hotel.com staff call and fax the hotel in order for me to check in.
The staff was very kind and attentive--I was the very last one checking in for the night and they upgraded my room for free.

I was very impressed with the services at this hotel. Very thankful for free wifi and the complimentary snacks and adult beverages. I enjoyed my stay and will recommend to others.

our stay at this hotel was very pleasant and most convient while visiting our son at Ft Jackson army base. The room were well keep and clean. The personnel were very informative and most friendly.. Thank You
Exhaust fan in bathroom inoperative. Housekeeping did not clean room on Saturday. Called front desk at 3:30 p.m. - was advised housekeeping was gone. Carpeting, especially in all common areas, in dire need of cleaning. Frint desk staff was very accomodating.
Olny stayed one night. Room was comfortable.

"Great Breakfast"
This hotel has a great free breakfast setup. They even have a pancake machine which makes perfect pancakes every time. Not very far from the convention center.

This Hotel is very nice. Check-in was easy and quick and the room was very nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. They had free beer, wine, chips, and pretzels in the lobby and free hot breakfast. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast and it was good. It is less than 2 miles to the Colonial Life Arena. I will stay there again.
"Graduation Stay"
I stayed at this hotel with my family for my graduation. Overall, this hotel was clean and the employees were very professional and friendly. I enjoyed the convenient ammenities, especially the continental breakfast. We thought the location of the hotel was a bit odd. Coming east on Huger St......there was no sinage for the hotel so we almost passed […] it.We needed to go further down on Taylor St. but this street had turned into a one way street by the hotel. "Nice hotel for the price"
I visited Columbia with my husband to attend a wedding. We didn't book the hotel set aside for guests because this one was much cheaper and still downtown. It was a great choice! The staff is extremely friendly, the room was clean and modern, and the location is fairly convenient (for driving only... this is not really a walking city!). "I really love this hotel"
As my son attended University of South Carolina, I stayed in this hotel several times so that I could visit him. This last visit was for his graduation. Our party consisted of his father, myself and both sets of grandparents. I would never have brought either set of grandparents to a hotel that I didn't trust to be perfect. This hotel fulfilled my wishes […] and more. We all had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this hotel for its comfortable rooms and exceptional service. "One of the more comfortable hotels"
The hotel was very clean and had a very appealing look on the inside. The room was very comfortable and it was the first time we'd slept for a full night in a week. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We had once instance when the room was cleaned and never replaced with towels, but overall this was an excellent hotel.
"Great location"
A short walk to the Vista area of Columbia, which has a lot of great restaurants and bars. The room was very nice, but there was an issue with the door lock to my particular room... Maintenance was a bit slower than I would have preferred.
"Nice stay"
only thing is that rooms on the west side (that face Huger St) are noisy due to the pretty constant traffic on Huger St. We asked to be moved and the staff did so - much quieter on east side. Very pleasant and service-oriented staff.

Hotel was very nice. Rooms were HUGE! Water pressure in shower were amazing! Beds were really comfy! Breakfast downstairs was great-no long lines and really tasty! We def plan on staying here again!

"Overall good experience - very close to down town"
Customer Service at Reception Exceptional, Breakfast Wonderful I had only 2 disappointments during my stay. While the hotel provided modern Hi-Def flat screen televisions, the local cable provider has only given the hotel a lo-def non digital, small screen cable signal, thus the television really isn't used to it's fullest potential. 2nd. Internet access […] is marginal at best. Despite great wireless signal, the band width was minimal. I have a DSL at home that was lightning fast compared to the signal I was able to get at the hotel. I found that I was completely unable to watch the evening news from their respective web sites do to the lack of band width. The hotel is located on a main road in downtown Columbia. It is close to the Vista and other destinations. We were in town to attend a football game and the location is less than 10 min. from the stadium. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I love Columbia but this hotel is surrounded by a office building neighborhood with nothing to offer travellers. To make things worse, there is only one exit onto a one-way street that is impossible to get into during evening hours so, dinner is out unless you have pizza delivered. The evening reception is pathetic. Breakfast was OK.

"Definately the best Holiday Inn!"
Everything was perfect here - warm welcome, clean and updated decor, large comfortable bed and good location. Be sure to ask for a room not facing the highway. Was so clean there was a member of staff even sweeping the car park when we left!
The hotel is close to a lot of things in the downtown area. The lobby is attractive and the breakfast has a lot of offerings. Although on a main road, there is not much noise in the room. There is no noise from adjoining rooms or hall noise like some hotels have. I would stay here again.
