The hot tub seemed to be turned down towards the end of the weekend. It flt more like a heated pool.

Beautiful place. Housekeeping didnt show up till 5PM (till we complained...but then they did). Overall, really beautiful place in awesome location!

Great location to get the beach town feel, easy access to bay and surf, near attractions without too much driving. Nothing super fancy. Nice pool area with hot tub. NIce bar and restaurant with patio. Walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. Definitely going back! Great all around location when considering all the aspects.

I had a great stay at the Catamaran. You can't beat the location, right on Mission Bay and only a block from Pacific Beach. The hotel grounds were lovely and the restaurant had good food and a beautiful view over the Bay.

The grounds are and location right on the bay are fantastic. But the rooms are pretty dated and the building itself is pretty old. When hot water runs, the pipes make a pretty loud sound - which can make it tough to sleep. The walls are super thin, as well. You can pretty much hear everything people say in the next room - even if they're just speaking […] normally. And the parrots in the morning might wake you up with the screaming. Catamaran is has nice grounds, location, staff, etc. My only complaint is the rooms are a bit dated, and although bedding was nice, mattress was stiffer. The shower head was installed pretty low so its more comfortable if you arent very tall. Oh and would be nice to have a mini fridge to keep drinks cold, leftovers and such when eating out so much. […] We had a "garden view" room which put us right over the parking garage--so I'd Reccomend the bay view. The paddle wheel boat was great and the location (close to sea world, on mission bay and 1 block from the pacific ocean) is perfect.

Wonderful stay, helpful staff, great location, nice ambiance. Beach is at your doorstep. I stayed 3 nights with my husband, infant, and toddler.

I wanted to treat my girlfriend to a night with some friends on her birthday at The Catamaran Hotel. All was great until the morning. We were awoke by what sounded like someone clearing out a drain with a router machine which is pretty loud. Then some early risers with children being very loud in the hallway repeatedly slamming their door. Room was next to the elevator and you could hear the noise inside the room. Otherwise the accomodation were very good.

main buildings have no elevators, so get a bellhop with those heavy bags, limited TV viewing on Direct TV. Great grounds with ducks, parrots and ambiance. Perfect to be steps to the ocean and to the bay. Great food.

Peaceful. Didn't really stay long enough to see service and amenities. But looks awesome. Great location. One negative was the valet. They charged me $17 to Park my car 10 steps closer than I would have be able to. At any other hotel I have ever stayed at this service was complimentary. Other than that it was nice.

Our family of four adults and one toddler stayed for seven nights and enjoyed everything about the property and especially the grounds that are kept immaculate. Our only negative is the $13.00 per day parking fee. When you get a reasonable online rate then add the parking fee, it is not quite as good as you are first lead to believe. We can see the […] need to charge for parking for non hotel guests as it is a very busy area, however it should be complimentary for hotel guests. Prior to booking we had read online guest reviews with many painting a very negative picture of the property. Not sure what some of them were looking at to come to this conclusion. The Catamaran Resort and Spa is a very unusual hotel. The gardens, tropical birds and plants, indoor waterfall, etc, all provide a very relaxing ambience to the facility. Apparently the original owner traveled around the world a great deal and brought back the flora and fauna with him. The location on Mission Bay is beautiful and serene. This is an ok hotel! Needs updating! Walls are paper thin, usually woken up by the next room at 5AM. 14.00 a day to park is a little steep. However I guess someone has to pay for the high end cars that the sales and marketing staff drive! If this is any conciliation, the rest if the hotels in the area are very, very rough looking! The staff was very good and I particularly liked the pool area. The room was big and suitable for a family of four. The location is outstanding with the ocean and bay very close and plenty of shops and restaurants.

The Catamaran more than met my expections. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, with lovely waterways and birds, in a peaceful setting. The wide clean paths along the beach allowed for long walks or bike rides around the bay. Services and amenities at the hotel are excellent with friendly staff. This hotel is in a very nice location. The restaurant is very good and the staff was friendly. The swimming pool and grounds are beautiful. The room was mundane but worked.

Due to the blizzard in NY, our initial flight was cancelled. Scott over at the Catamaran was super helpful and understanding. He showed compassion about our situation, and was accessible and available whenever I called. When we finally arrived, it seemed that we were upgraded to a beautiful suite in the tower ( which we recommend to anyone staying). […] We ended up needing medical services during our stay and the staff was knowledgable and gave us tips and locations of places near by. They helped us book a shuttle for our journey to the airport at four in the morning, and the hotel itself was one of the most well kept, beautiful places we have ever stayed. You really felt like you we're in paradise. The location is fabulous, and the restaurant downstairs is perfect for a night in overlooking the bay. We're already planning our return trip. Having read some reviews of this hotel i was a little concerned. The check in staff were great, the room was good, the bed comfortable, the mattress clean.the carpet didnt have any holes, the restaurant food was very flavourful . Cannot fault my experience of this hotel at all.

WE really enjoyed our stay . I will have to say i was expecting a littl more from the room . The carpet was stained , the screen door to the balcony was not operational , and the counter tops in the bathroom look liked they had been repaired several times and just need to be replaced.

I think we got the worst room in the place. Was it because we booked with Expedia, and not directly with the hotel? The room was old, dank, and dark. Dust bunnies hung from the ceiling and swung in the breeze. It was awkward to view the TV from the bed-the control wouldn't work if you moved the screen to a better viewing angle. The screen was off the […] big doors and just sitting to the side. I couldn't have a bath because the stopper wouldn't work and the shower dripped (alot) when it was turned off. Sometimes we got lotion, shampoo, etc. and sometimes we didn't. That was the same with notepaper and with a plastic bag for the ice, and with glasses. The location of the hotel is great - near the ocean, near Mission Bay, near restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and buildings were a little dated and noisy.

Our family had the most amazing Christmas at the Catamaran. The hotel was beautifully decorated in christmas lights and a huge Christmas Tree. There was a wonderful athmosphere and the staff made sure that our vacation was complete with first class service. We look forward to returning very soon.

We were so excited when we entered the hotel. A beautiful fish pond. The grounds are outstanding. The bar restaurant, great service, and a view of the Bay. The only thing that was questionable was the location of our room. We were in the tower right beside the park aide. It was noisy about 7 in the morining with people locking & unlocking vehicles. […] And around 9:30 -10:00 some kind of machine started up and was on for about half an hour. Very noisy. The hotel itself is beautiful on the outside and the front desk area. However, the rooms are a bit out of date. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The rooms are clean, beautiful views, and have all your basic needs. Some floors have a few cracks and the bathroom, for me, had too small of a tub. Keep in mind that I stayed in the tower. The most […] frustrating things were how long I was ignored at the front desk when checking in, the valet was $17/day and the self parking was $13/day. I disagree with paying for parking when youre paying so much for a room.
