"Sometimes, it's the little things"
The hotel was obviously old, but my room was clean. However, there were holes in the comforter and stains on the sheets. The towels were small and ratty. One of my friends who was staying in the same hotel was bothered all night by the noise of the street. She asked to switch rooms and was charged a fee. I don't think that's fair.

The hotel was definetly 2 star. Old, dingy, worn, etc. It was clean enough, just that over all feeling of grime that comes with older hotels. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic! They have a waffle maker, and biscuts and gravy, plus the standard muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, oatmeal, toast, bagels, etc. The hotel was great for […] us, because we were gone all day, and mostly just spending the night and eating breakfast. "Highly recomend"
Upon arrival I was greeted right of way and the guy who checked us in was very friendly. When we got to our room it was already warm which was nice since it was very cold outside. In the morning I stopped by the breakfast and there was a lot of food to pick from. I highly reccomend this hotel because it is a great hotel with very friendly staff and […] a great deal for the price you pay. You can't find a better deal anywhere else and a staff as friendly as theirs. I also needed a few extra pillows and they provided them to me for no extra cost. "Super 8 Rodchester"
The hotel was'nt the prettiest, but everyone was very nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable. It was clean enogh. I did not have a chance to eat the breakfast.

I wanted the cheapest I could find, so I booked super 8. I used to work at a super 8, so I knew what to expect, so I thought. I thought hotels were non smoking now days, but I was wrong. The hallways upstairs reeked with cigarette smoke. Not pleasant unless you smoke, I guess. We were put in a single king room, which was on the farthest corner from […] the front desk. When I got to the room, the key did not work. So I trucked all my luggage and my stuff back to the front desk to get a different key. The man at the service desk was very polite, and rescanned the key and said it should work. I hauled all the way back to the room to find out it still didn't work. I was getting frustrated. There was a phone in the hallway that automatically calls the front desk, and thankfully he told me about it so I didn't have to go all the way back to the front desk. He said he was checking in another person, and he would be up in a few minutes. Grrrr....out of impatience, I just kept trying the key. Finally it worked! Yay!!! So I get into the room, and it is BLAZING hot. the heat was on full blast, and I had to turn the air conditioner on for 2 hours before it was comfortable. One thing I did like about this super 8 was that it came standard with a refridgerator and a microwave (something that didn't even come in a Marriot hotel room, paying 3X as much). Not that it's a huge deal, but there were only three pillows for a king size bed...I would have liked to have more. I would recommend this hotel if you don't really care about atmosphere. Decent motel for the price. The beds were very comfortable and amenities included mini frig and microwave. The listing showed a pool-which wasnt there, but no big deal. I may have just read it wrong. The staff was very helpful.
Carpet has bad smell. Breakfast very poor. They do not have bagel or cream cheese, no milk....... I will never stay in Super 8 motel.

Very good accommodation at a reasonable price. The waffles for breakfast were not as good as at other hotels, but otherwise it was quiet satisfactory.
"Only one problem"
I liked everything about this hotel except for the bed. The mattress was hard and very uncomfortable. Unexpectedly, we had to stay an extra night in Rochester and we chose a different hotel in the same price range and vicinity to Mayo Clinic based on this one issue.

The hotel is older, but clean. They could do with newer pillows, but overall a good visit. The continental breakfast offered a little more than the standard fare so was a pleasant surprise.

"Average in many ways"
There wasn't anything really bad about this hotel, there are just better choices available. It was cheap, but we would spend a bit more in the future. No elevator made our 2nd floor room tough to access. No overhang made unloading in the pouring rain a hassle. Breakfast was average. Pretyy bare bones experience.

We needed a place to just sleep and thats what we got. When we walked into the room there was a terrible smell like it was shut up for a long time but other than that it was a good place to stay. "Bad Experience!"
First, our room was the only non-smoking room in a series of rooms and the smell was very hard on our son who has asthma. We also requested a rollaway which was terrible! If my son didn't have asthma it would have been better to sleep on the floor. Then they wanted to charge $10 extra for the rollaway that was quoted in our price. The manager was terrible […] and very rude. I would never stay at this location again. Room was clean and in good maintenance. Staff, for 2 of our 3 day stay, was questionable. Couldn't check in, because attendant on duty was sleeping. Didn't even wake up when I tried calling the desk. 2nd day, no attendant. Turns out this one was eating breakfast. The price was reasonable, in comparison to other prices checked. "great for a Mayo patient"
My son and I stayed at the motel for several nights due to his medical condition. The room was nice, we especially like the remote air. The frig and microwave came in handy. The shuttle to and fro the clinic was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We had to return to Mayo later that week and we decided to stay at the motel 8 again. "Clean and inexpensive room"
shuttle to Mayo in the a.m. was quick with just a couple of stops, but the afternoon shuttle made several stops and took too long. They need to run the shuttle more often than once an hour in the afternoons.

I used my free night for this hotel when I could have used it for a more expensive hotel because my free night that I earned was before the change in the program. You can't find a nicer hotel that is this nice and closer to the Mayo clinic. The shuttle bus service was very nice for getting to the clinic. The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. A lot nicer than other hotels I've stayed at in Rochester.

You can't find a nicer room for this price. From the minute I walked in I was satisfied because the staff was so friendly and fast. I just came in from a long drive and all I wanted to do is get to the room and sleep. Everything in the room worked well. I plan on coming to this hotel for sure in the future!
