"Flamingo Beach"
Arrived Jan. 30, 2012 to large, fresh room with balcony. Two flat panel TV's, large, very clean washroom. Room faced the parking lot (which I thought the website said it was luck of the draw, whether you got pool, sea or parking lot, so I guess we're not good gamblers). Didn't spend much time in the room with the excellent beach and pool very close. We enjoyed the clean, beautifully furnished room and the beautiful, but crowded, beach. Very popular as a timeshare destination for American retirees.

I actually own timeshare in the sister property - Royal Palm, used my timeshare week at Royal Palm but couldnt get coordinating flights so we ended up staying at Flamingo the first night of our seven night stay on St. Maarten. We go back to front desk they said there was nothing they could do. The next day we decided to get to towel station early- got there @ 9:00 and once again we were told no towels - and no apologies- just "they dont have any". Well located, great pool, right on the beach, just down the road from heaps of restaurants that you can walk to. Good workout when walking the roads around the hotel area since the narrow streets have steep grades. Helps with taking off the calories you take in. DO not use the close little stores. We had a suite facing the beach. It was so worth the money we spent. At first we walked into an dirty suit that just had been vacated. But the kind staff quickly moved us into a clean suite. "Flamingo Resort in St Maarten"
We stayed in this hotel twice in the course of 2 weeks and for the most part enjoyed everything about the hotel. Our first room was large, with a wonderful view and great facilities. For the second stay we were in a much smaller room without sufficient space to lay out our suitcases or move around when the sofa bed was open. "Great place! Stay here all the time!"
Overall I would say this place is perfect! Rooms are clean and while I was there last they put new beds in all the rooms! Nice feeling sleeping on a brand new hotel bed! Had hotel manager Chris help me with a wine bottle to propose to Liz... The staff there is amazing each time! Overall I've stayed at this property 8 times and have been very happy […] each time. Although WIFI is free in the lobby and the big room upstairs it's not in the rooms. Beach is very nice but I do miss the swim platform they used to have a few years ago.. I hope they bring it back. "Great location and view"
We got a very large room with excellent views in a modest price. Good location and nice beaches. helpful and polite staff in the reception. The room was not cleaned daily. The restaurant did not meet the quality of other services. Excellent value for money at least in our case.

Hotel was not that bad, but the service could have been better, the AC did not work at, we told the front desk about 3 times but no one came to look at it.. There was water inside of the closet which may have been from the AC but again no one came to look...Then the traffic getting to the hotel was a nightmare. "More than expected"
After arriving in St. Maarten, the trip from the airport to The Flamingo was terrible. It took an hour for a 3 mile ride. But once at the resort, we were more than pleased. We located a room that was more to our liking. The staff at the front office were more than happy to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The grounds, beach, pool and Topper's […] restaurant were incredible. We met some wonderful people. The management team on site were so pleasant, as well as the staff at Topper's Bar & Grill. The show they gave on Thursday "Grease" which was local talent was so enjoyable and quite a nice touch we were not expecting. "Some issues, but they were fixed"
Our first room had a problem. They quickly got us another room that still faced the ocean. A very friendly staff that responded to every request. Good value and location. The desk clerk recommended a nearby restaurant where we got local cooking that we were very happy with.

It is a well run resort with all the basic services and activities. It will be nice to have a on-site gym rather than a 5 minutes drive to an affliate facility. Also needs more choice on TV channels. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I will recommend this resort.

Hotel is in a great location, clean and very convient to everything, the only down side is the service at the front desk, they could use a class in customer service, but everyone else at the resort is wonderful!!! Would stay there again, but will be prepared for the front desk lack of skills.
"Nice Place!"
The Flamingo Beach Hotel in St. Maarten NA is a nice place to stay. The only problem was a loud refrigerator that without earplugs would have been intolerable. Otherwise, clean grounds, lovely view with a beach side room and friendly staff.
"Bed Bugs"
We were on the island for 10 days before we got to the The Royla Flaming We stopped by in several times to see if they could up grade us to 2nd floor ocean or pool view they said that we would have to come back and check.. Well the day we checked in they told me I had a beautiful garden view it was a parking lot with a tree. To top it off the room was […] infested with bed bugs.. I got the the worst bites of my life .. When i complained about it they told me that there were no bed bugs they changed the room told me they were going wash all my clothes but never did until we almost missed my flight.. They didn't even off to buy dinner or breakfast. We waited in the lobby for over 4 hrs for our clothes. They also gave us a difficult time about extending our room even thouigh we had no clothes to take showers or get ready to go home. This was my third stay at the hotel and this was far the worst .. When I got home to the USA I went to the doctor who confirmed that I had bed bug bites and it was the worst case and am now on steroids for 10 days. Lisätietoja

First impression counts and a jewelery counter and an activity counter at the main entrance of the small lobby makes it a hard and difficult task getting into the lobby and to the check in desk, in general both counters needs to be relocated to the sitting area next door, this will create more space for guest in the busy lobby area. "Last night in St Martin"
My 18 year old daughter and I took at 16 night vacation to St Martin in July 2011 we stayed the majority of our stay at an RCI condo in Phillipsburg and for our last 2 nights we stayed one night on the French side of the island and our final night at the Flamingo Beach Resort. The resort was very nice, it is also an RCI resort with a lot more activities […] than the one we stayed at for the 2 weeks. The Flamingo is located in Simpson Bay out near the airport. When I checked in the manager on duty upgraded us to a room with a sunset view (that was very nice and much appreciated) The resort was clean, safe, and fun. The beach was not one of the nicer beaches that we had been to but still not bad. You do need a car to enjoy any of the area. This hotel is on the Dutch side of the island. In walking distance or a short drive there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment. The hotel staff was very helpful and there are activities for the kids. The rooms were big and comfortable with a kitchen but smelled musty. We were very impressed with our stay at the Flamingo Beach Resort. Located in the heart of Simpson Bay, it was only a short (but hilly) walk to stores and restaurants. Staff were very accommodating and the rooms were large and clean and well equipped. The infinity pool was also very clean and overlooked the beachfront. Free wifi was located in the lobby […] areas. A Thrifty car rental booth was located in the lobby as was the Royal Caribbean Jewelry Store which offered beautiful, well priced jewellery. I stayed only one night in order to be near the airport for an early morning departure and it was perfectly situated on the beach within seven minutes of the airport. It is a timeshare property so the "room" was large, apartment-sized with fully equipped kitchen, large living & dining room and a large master bedroom and two baths. There is an on-site dining room on the beach but several other restaurants and a small convenience store are within walking distance. Very nice place, I don't understand the few bad ratings I seen, It was really nice and I'm very picky
Check in was slow. A lot of paperwork to fill out and had to put a deposit down that was more than what we were supposed to pay for the total of our two night stay. We thought it strange. Also had to pay a deposit for them to call us a cab. They gave it back when the cab arrived. The hotel was clean and in fair condition. "Good Enough"
This is a resort with nice rooms, a nice pool, and a decent beach looking out over a bay. There are several restaurants and a grocery across the street, which is very handy. The service wasn't anything to write home about, but everything was clean and well maintained. Toppers by the Beach operates a beach bar and restaurant on the beach and is a lot […] of fun--good food and drinks fairly priced. Many people spend their entire St. Maarten vacation here. "Lovely resort---even better than expected!"
Lovely room, good beach access, calm water. A 1BR apt./suite for the price of a simple room elsewhere. Hard to find: I didn't know where to turn off the main road. Once I did, I had to keep asking directions to the reception. Restaurant OK, but Rack of Lamb was overpriced without enough meat.

We found the hotel to be friendly and accommodating. Location was convenient to many restaurants and shops. The view from our one bedroom suite was excellent. We missed the convenience of a concierge for making dinner reservations as the dialing conventions from one part of the island to the other were a real problem for us until we finally called the […] main desk for instructions. (Very fruntrating) Other than the saggy couch and remotes that didn't work (battery went dead twice in a week) our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. "Business"
I visit St. Maarten twice a year and try to stay at Flamingo. It is clean, comfortable, convenient and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is always friendly. The only issue is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, guests must go to a central location.

Great hotel! This has to be the best hotel for the price on the island! The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and clean and the view was amazing! The hotel had events each day that cater mostly to families (I did not participate but it was a nice gesture). There is a bar/grille attached to the hotel that was affordable and lively. […] The property is about a 45 minute walk to the airport/Sunset Beach, but a cab is only about $10. Also, there is a string of restaurants about 10-20 minutes away from the hotel on foot. There is a Hertz desk downstairs in the lobby for those who want to rent a car and there is a jewelry store as well. There is free wireless internet in the lobby. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel or better location. Very convenient having the full kitchen in the room. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. The hill everyone talks about really is not that bad to walk. It actually felt good walking up it after eating a big dinner. Wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again!!!!

Rooms are equiped with all you need and a bit more. Rooms are spacious and clean. If you discover anything out of order, just mention it and it will be resolved in no time. My overall stay was wonderful!!! The room was comfortable, cozy and like a home away from home. I actually was there during Hurricane Earl 2010 and as soon as Earl moved on, hotel staff worked feverishly to get the hotel back in order. Within hours The Flamingo Resort was cleaned up as if nothing happened. I would recommend this resort to all who are […] looking for a great vacation spot! "Great Value exceeded our expectations"
Lovely hotel, very spacious room with granite counter tops, and a fully equipped right down to the blender. Although we didn't cook, it was nice to have it there if we needed it. "Nice hotel - great beaches"
This is our second time to the island and the first at the Flamingo. Hotel is close to the airport, food, and activities. The beach is really the highlight which is private and protected. If you are okay not having the glitz of a more expensive hotel, consider this a good find. Family friendly too.

I do not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. 1. It was the loudest hotel I have ever been to. I have been all around the world in stayed in many many diverse locations, but this resort was the loudest of any hotel experience I have had world wide!!! 2. It was musty in my room. I think it may have been cooled by a swamp cooler. 3. Room service […] knocked on my door even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door. What is up with that??? 4. There was maintenance going on in our hallway at 9am. I called the front desk to ask them to stop and it did for 10 minutes... and then continued. I couldn't believe how loud it was... and how absolutely inconsiderate it was. If I was eligible for a refund, I would have found a different place to say. 5. No wifi in the room. 6. No movie channels on the TV 7. Our wake up call on the day we were leaving for the airport was 30 MINUTES LATE!!! Unbelievable9. 8. I could think of more things, but I am sick of talking about this very WELL MARKETED, but poorly executed resort. I am a seasoned traveler and dont usually write reviews, but it was bad enough to let the world know.
