I have stayed here for the last several years exclusively when I visit Maui as it's off the beaten path, the amenities are reasonable and the stores across the street supplement the kitchen nicely. All in all, worth the stay.

Hotel was great, I would stay there again and recommend to others. My only complaint was with the bed and pillows, for the price we paid I would have expected better sleeping conditions.

We had an excellent four day stay at the hotel in April. I had upgraded to an one bedroom ocean view room. The checkin team was friendly. They have a lot of details to review. There was an additonal $ 10 resort fee and $9 for parking per day. I was aware of this at the time of booking and so not a major issue (includes free DVD rentals etc.). The room […] was great and the view was excellent - we had a top floor room. A lot of thought has gone into the decor. The kitchen was well stocked - unlike several hotels, they had a good supply of tea, coffee, sugar, creamer. There was an one hour presentation by Expedia - this was well worth it. The pools, lawns etc. were excellent. The only negative is that the beach around this area is a bit rocky - not the gradual sandy sloping beach that we had hoped for. Its still a decent beach. We have stayed at this location for the past 7 years and we can see that some areas are looking as if they could use some repair. Our room 533 left us without hand towels in the beginning and we had to call for some washcloths another day. Also, there was a dried contact on the night stand the entire stay (yuk)

The price seemed pretty low compared to others in the area. We were nickle and dimed every day. The hotel (or rental condos) were good but we were required to pay $9 per day for amenities (included wifi but not the gym) and $9 per day to park (no option to street park). The restaurant is reasonably priced for Hawaii but we had an extra $500 bill by […] the end of our 6 day stay. Would have been nice to just include the add'l required $18/day into the hotel price. Overall, very nice. We were able to upgrade to 2 br which was very comfortable. Aston Kaanapali Shores is not actually in Kaanapali. Right outside in next town. I would have preferred to be in Kaanapali itself to be able to walk to shops.

Our family loved the hotel and plan to return. It was a comfortable stay with having two rooms, two bathrooms, living area, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, two pools and hot tubs, and easy beach access. We asked for help from staff and received wonderful service. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. The price was excellent as well! We flew Island Air from Honolulu to Kapalua, which was only a 5 min cab ride to the Aston. You can also fly into Kahului, but it is about a 45 min drive to the Aston. However, if you're looking to rent a car, you have to go to Kahului anyways. We were greeted pleasantly, and that's only where it began! When we checked into our room, we had a 7th floor […] one bedroom suite with an ocean view (where you could see Humpback Whales breaching), kitchen including a dishwasher, laundry, and a pass good for 2 free movie rentals in their machines located throughout the hotel complex. There was a grocery store and a couple restaurants right across the street, so we stocked up and decided to only have dinners out while making breakfast and lunch. Definitely saved a ton of money. The pools were very nice, and the grounds were very well kept. Many hotels don't have much of a beachfront, but the Aston had a good chunk of sand if you prefer laying on the beach instead of by the pool. Lahaina is only a 10 min drive from the hotel for more restaurants, shops lining both sides of Front St, as well as the Old Lahaina Luau (highly recommended!) The check-out process was smooth as silk. We didn't have a single complaint and would definitely stay in an Aston hotel in the future. Long story short, the maids came in before we checked out and threw everything in the refrigerator in the garbage including the leis we had purchased for our daughters. They replaced them with ones that were rotten the next day. They tried to say we stored them wrong, but we had ones that we had made stored in the same way that lasted for 2 more weeks. […] I don't normally write negative reviews, but felt pretty ripped of by this so felt compelled to let people know. kanapali shores is located on a strip of hotels and beach front property.lots of upper end hotels on this 2-3mile strip,and great beachs.The hotel itself is in great shape for its age.clean,no bugs in room or grounds that I noticed.We had a kitchenette and it was great for staying in and cooking.The room was nicely appointed and not dated at all.We […] really liked it here,had no issues at all.Beach out front is gorgeous to sunbathe on and watch the waves come ashore,night or day.The water has some rocks in it so you may decide to play in ocean a little further down.You can walk down the beach for at least a mile,and visit other hotels on the way.Good swimming and snorkeling along the way.This whole strip is loaded with good beaches,there is no reason to go South to Kehei/Wailee to find beaches to play in.We stayed here in whale season so we witnessed lots of whale breaches,some just the blowhole going,other times full out of the water jumps,it was really cool,these siting can happen from your own lanai to on the beach or just out sight seeing anywhere on island.Thats about all the blah,blah,blah,I have for now,hope you enjoy your trip/stay.I'll definately go back to stay at the kaanapali shores. Celebrated New Years at this hotel. Large and comfortable rooms. Not too close to the town, but great for families with kids. You'll probably need a car. Free breakfast the first morning after arrival.

The hotel complex is perfectly located across a grocery, small shops and restaurants. Wifi is free. Parking is $9/day. Decent garden and pools but beach access is average. There are a couple of public beach access in Kaanapali. The beach in front of Whaler's is fantastic. Lovely cool water with nice waves. Smooth sandy oceean floor. got a free upgrade to one bedroom with garden view from studio apartment...:) the stay was amazing...they had maintained the room very well..overall stay was awesome! but near main door there was a bit of dirt... that apart they didn't wash the kitchen vessels daily...we had to put it in the dish washer which wasn't working that well.. giving a score […] of 4 just cuz of the other amenities it offered and the location.. We stayed on Maui for 10 days but since we weren't familiar with the hotels, we booked 2 different venues - 1 for the first half (Royal Lahaina) then Kaanapali Shores for second half. Kaanapali Shores was, by far, the most comfortable. Basically, it was a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen, dishwasher, coffee, washer/dryer, 2 TVs, play station, […] free movie rentals, etc. I actually thought it was a little TOO comfortable as I found myself relaxing on the huge sofa watching movies during the day when I should have been enjoying the sunshine. There are two pools, two jacuzzis, restaurant, shops, etc. The room was very clean and the hotel/condo location was on the beach on one side and across the street from a grocery store on the other. There are tennis courts, golf, etc. etc. A perfect place to bring the family. The cost was extremely reasonable, however, we did incur a daily "amenities fee" that I wasn't really expecting and daily parking fee. All in all, extremely worth it. Tremendous. Excellent service with an upgrade. Countered our late night arrival with a generous check-out time. Strongly recommend this resort.

Furnitures are a bit outdated but we overall enjoyed our stay at Aston Kaanapali very much. Take a surfing lesson with Sherman and Turtle. They both are the best.

Plenty to do in the Ka'anapali area. Can catch a shuttle to Whalers Village & Kapalua areas, also into Lahaina if you change. It's nice if you don't feel like driving. There's a supermarket across the road. Also a dive shop to rent gear. Nice to get their umbrella/chair & cooler deal. Like Java Jazz for coffee. If you just want to hang out by the pool […] or beach, you never have to leave the hotel. Ate at the poolside restaurant. Liked the wrap. Always enjoy Maui. Not one for hotels, but I liked the feel of this place. We had a nice northfacing one which was quiet. My only complaint is how long it takes to check in or if you just need change, yiu have to wait in the same long line. There should.be a seperate line for incidentals. Lisätietoja

The Aston Kaanapali Shores is a great place to stay while on vacation. It is conveniently located near all activities and beaches. It is a well maintained resort and has great services to help you enjoy your vacation. I highly recommend staying at the Aston Kaanapali Shores in Maui.

We were so pleased with our stay at this hotel. I found it online and was impressed with all the positive reviews and I am glad we chose it. Our room was spacious and clean. We were right on the beach and with the pool, bar and restaurant all in close proximity to our room, it was perfect. I had a 2-day reservation and checked out after the 1st day. The general aesthetic quality of the hotel is low. It has a good lobby and outdoor space, but the room, bathroom and sink areas look like very POOR quality/3rd rate materials and look. We had to walk from the outside of the building on each floor - something that resembles a dorm room scenario […] or low-income housing. You have options in Hawaii - from extreme luxury hotels to surfer shacks. The Aston Kaanapali Shores condo complex is a really great level for a family vacation. It is located on the beach, so you do not need to drive to the water as you would from some locations. You are just north of Whaler's Village and a short, easy drive from Lahaina. It is reasonably […] priced if you need more than one bedroom. There is a grocery store across the street (I walked) making it easy to use the kitchen in your condo. An Expedia Expert is in the lobby to make activity planning easy. The staff is eager to please. The grounds are lovely. To sum up, the advantages here are location, understated atmosphere (no incessant music or any traffic noise), value, view from room, and condo convenience. What you sacrifice: not a great beach for swimming (warnings posted), average room appearance (though kitchen is quite nice), no on-site entertainment. We liked it and would return. Lisätietoja

GREAT hotel - if your looking into staying here then have no doubt that you need to book it. We have stayed here on two separate occasions an were very pleases both times. Make sure to at least book the "studio with kitchen" or higher to make sure you get a quality an updated room. The prices here are about $100 or more cheaper than the Walers Village […] area just down the road which makes it much more affordable for a 7-day or longer trip and the experience is very comparable. You'll want to drive to walers one night, Lahaina another night an Mammas fish house another night---otherwise just stay put and enjoy the great pool and beach views and either cook in using supplies from the nice grocery store right across the street, BBQ at the beach park or eat at the onsite restaurant that's slightly overpriced for the good but not great quality. Wonderful location, great staff, and very competitive pricing. Ask for room upgrade. Great snorkeling in both directions from hotel, and from nearby beaches. The access may be bit rocky from directly in front of the hotel. There are no staff hanging around looking for tips. Free native Hawaiian show on Wednesday eve. We stayed at the Aston Kaanapali Shores for just one night, but had more than enough time to decide it was a great choice for the money. The two bedroom unit looked like it had been recently renovated, and offered all of the comforts of home. Had a drink at the hotel restaurant, which offers a nice view of the ocean. The grounds of the hotel are attractive, […] and our teenagers enjoyed the two pools, one of which is just steps from the ocean. Not much of a beach to speak of, but just a short drive to the great public beach, which offers free parking. A grocery store is located right across the street from the hotel, which is convenient if you plan to take advantage of the well stocked kitchen in your unit. Kudos to the front desk staff for allowing us to check in early, and if you have a late flight, you can hang around the pool area and shower before heading off to the airport. It is a beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, clean, beautiful and close to all we needed to do and see. The only thing we missed is free internet access, although we could print off our boarding passes for free.

I had not heard of the Aston before and it was fantastic. I will stay there again if I have the chance. The surroundings were great - the lay-out of the grounds was fantastic.

Thisbis the second year we have stayed here and we will stay again if we come back. This place has everything you need.

I will go back there again! We had wonderful vacation! Hope it will remodel the rooms someday so they will be a little newer than currently. Overall, it was great!!!

Accommodations ample, but room was on the small side. "Penthouse" must be an upscale way of saying "9th floor". Staff friendly and helpful Room door security seemed a bit lacking; second lock was non-functional. Overall, it's an affordable (for Maui) place to stay that is clean, safe, and friendly on the north end of the island.
