Gaylord Palms Resort and Spa - Kissimmee

In town for the Mecum Auto Auction so I decided to introduce my girlfriend to a nice business hotel. Our stay was brief but very enjoyable. Gaylord does an excellent job with respect to customer service and the food was much better than most business properties. My only complaint is, due to much business traffic, I could not get into the restaurant […] I wanted but, nonetheless, I did enjoy dinner at the back-up choice. We are frequent visitors to Florida and have always liked Glaylord Palms and when we decided to visit for 3 weeks at Christmas we found an amazing deal for a week at Gaylord which we booked... Unfortunately the hotel was constantly noisy due to a singer that performed every half hour even into the .late evening which was so loud you could barely hear […] the tv in the room. The room service failed to replace any tea / coffee facilities on a few occassions and one day we had no water to our room so no shower /, unable to wash / brush teeth and we were instead given 2 bottles of water extra in our rooms. We had the international buffet which regardless of the country has the same food - nice although nothing spectacular. We also had nightmares parking as lazy people decide constantly yo abondon their cars at all ends of parking bays rather than doing a 2 minute walk to the overflow carpark - which no one monitors. The hotel charged us both self park and valet for the whole stay which we promply had refunded when we complained and also a resort fee for the day of no water. The hotel charge a resort fee but do not give you the information fot wifi at check and so we were unaware we had this causing extensive charges to our own phones etc Overall the hotel remains to be a beautiful site however the constant battle of people and cars were too much for us and were glad when we checked into our other hotel. The location of gaylords is also surrounded by tolls so this is somehting to remember if you have never visited florida - they soon add up! Lisätietoja

Just what you want to hear from the valet when you want to have your car pulled up. Actually the Gaylord gets $22 per day to park your car however when they can't find your car they do not offer to arrange a car or even act like it was a big deal. The front duty manager said "this happens all the time, just go have dinner and when you get back it will […] be sitting up front". Bottom line my car was used by another guest to go shopping. The hotel's calculation of our lost evening to EPCOT was 2 free breakfast coupons for our party of 4. Way to go. Finally the morning we left the whole resort was out of water so let's just say the next time I want to spend a grand in Orlando it will not be at the Gaylord Palms. Lisätietoja

Ok, I'll be brief and articulate better. The resort and its ammentities are amazing. The layout, the innovation, etc....we love. The rooms? Yeah, noo, nothing really over the top or memorable. I've stayed at regular Marriott resorts that I'm still talking about over 6years later. I really was hoping for a beautifully laid room, but was disappointed. […] I guess my expectations were too high. I engaged my wife at this resort and always wanted to stay there. 9 years later I decided to stay there (12/21/11) and............nothing. It is an amazing hotel!

We are so pleased with the entire experience. The Ice and Snow show, the hotel itself, and Haagen Daz till 11:00pm That is a thumbs up! A bit pricey in the food department, but all in all an memorable stay! Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel.....like a hotel in Vegas, but for the family and minus the slots! Nice restaurants and beautiful decor in lobby/restarant area. Rooms are small, but just there to sleep, so fine.

Nice place. We happen to go during a very busy time so there was always a line at the valet parking. Expect to pay an extra $30+ per day in "resort fees" and parking. Cost of food is on par with resort prices - very expensive. Lots of construction so the pool was very noisy. Pool is small and not well suited for small children. $15/day for parking; $17/day requisite resort fee whether you use it or not. Within walking distance of nothing. You are trapped in an overpriced, highly themed enviornment that creates a highly negative pressure around your wallet. Parking spaces are tight and require adept control over your unfamiliar rental car. In my opinion the room was over priced due to the limited choice of food/restaurants/amenities especially the limitations for breakfast; in addition certain other guests were ALLOWED TO SMOKE on their balcony and other public places on site - the no smoking restriction was not enforced. I have to say, we really liked the stay overall at the Gaylord Palms, however on the last day we received our incidentals bill, and we had 2 daily charges. 1 was $13.95 per day for parking, and the other was $17.95 per day for "resort fees" which we were never told about. We called down to the front desk and they said this was for our 2 complimentary […] bottled waters per day, which we never got, our complimentary transportation which we never used and free local phone calls from the room, which we also did not use...plus is complimentary not supposed to be free? So they are not really "complimentary" at all. We stayed here from Monday - Friday and the front desk agreed to remove 2 of the charges from the bill. That was not good enough so we went down to the front desk upon leaving to get this taken care of and after speaking with them and showing them that no where in anything we signed or anything that we were given was mention of ANY daily fees other than parking... So after speaking with them they did remove all charges from our bill and we left happy, but if you plan to stay there just make sure you ask about those fees or you will have a surprise of an additional $31.90 per day added to your stay. Another thing we found disturbing was the cost for food. We went to a breakfast buffet that had less than mediocre food and it cost us $21.50 per person for about $2.99 worth of food. Lesson learned! My husband and I took our daughter to Orlando for Christmas weekend. Gaylord palms was the best choice we could've made. The hotel was beautiful and engaging at every moment. We always had something fun to do. Planning to go again!

Wow! What a fantastic place! We were there for one night beginning on Christmas day. We had to check out of our condo somewhere else by 10am, but the Gaylord Palms was able to put us in a room right away. The place was BEAUTIFUL! They had great shows planned all throughout the Atrium and we felt as though we needed to stay a few more days just to see […] everything. The hotel was beautiful, frontdesk staff was very friendly. Room with view beautiful ! Just don't order any food, prices were outrageous ! And food was terrible! After all the fee add-ons and $17 for 2 bags of. Chip, 14 dollars for a drink, $42 for 2 small pizzas That were terrible! Not priceless!

We were in Room 7139 awesome complete view of atrium you could see the ship of key west to the xmas tree. The staff is very friendly, we had lunch at the keywest boat maybe not worth it then again all there restaurants are not cheap, save some $$ go on the strip its 2 min. away. The atmosphere is what you pay for. The Ice show with shrek was a reasonable […] price for FL residents but for almost $30 a piece if your not it can add up. This hotel was simply amazing. It is a must visit. The ICE and SNOW was amazing as well, There were sights and smells that will never be forgotten.

The hotel and grounds were beautifully decorated and the nightly entertainment was not to be missed. We're sorry we hadn't included more time there. The buffet was excellent and although we were the last to enter before closing, they did not remove any food without asking us if we needed anything at each area. This is a great place to stay during the Christmas Holidays. The hotel is beautiful and has a variety of things to do for all ages. It is connected to the Convention Center so it was just a brief walk to see ICE! They have musical shows in their atrium too. The staff are awesome. Better than any other hotel that I have stayed at. They are pleasant, […] happy, and attentive. My stay was not long enough to check out everything Gaylord has to offer. The only downside is the cost to eat at the hotel. This hotel is amazing. Perfect Christmas getaway.

Rooms were large and clean. The staff was pleasant and met our expectations. Worth the extra money compared to surrounding hotels.

The Gaylord Palms is absolutely beautiful, & we had fantastic service. Will recommend it to all of our family & friends.

I am an Orlando local, and I was looking for a hotel that would be nice for me and my boyfriend to have a little getaway. This hotel was perfect. This hotel is very beautiful . If you are going to stay there, request a room with a resort view. I was stuff with a view of the construction, not very pleasant. :(

One of the things is it had no microwave in the room to heat the wonderful danish, The walk is amazing , The atrium is gorgeous we had a great meal at the Old Smoke House. Overall it was a nice weekend.

Definitely would recommend this hotel. Hotel has both a professional, classy yet fun, family-friendly feel. Only good impressions! Unfortuately, I was there on business, but would have loved to stay and play.

Although the hotel is beautiful and a convient location, they neglected to change the description that the family pool with the slides for kids, the playgroung and the kids activities were not there during our stay. They are under much construction (not sure if it will include kids stiff) and our child was bored. The concierge did try to make it up […] with a surprise gift to the child (from Mario because he loves Mario...which I thought was clever) and a $50 credit to their restaurants or room service, the restaurants are not kid friendly, healthy menus and are WAAAYYYY overpriced for what you get. I have gotten better ammenities and restaurants at a 3-star hotel. The Gaylord is suppose to be the best hotel in Kissimmee. I beg to differ. We thought the Omni at Champions gate, the JW Marriott and even the fall special at the Buena Vista Palace Resort and Spa was much better. The hotel was beautiful, but i was very upset when i receive the final invoice with extra fees i didint expect. This guys charge for parking (around$15 a night) this is ridiculus. And also they charger a "Resort Fee" because they give you 2 bottles of water in your room and they have wireless which i didnt even knew we had it, and didnt need it. Following the resort clearing up a mix-up on thier part with regard to my receiving a Florida view versus a confirmed Atrium view; I would have to say that my stay was very relaxing, peaceful, and hassle free. I have no complaints at all! What an awesome place to stay while in Orlando.

I had shuttle service to and from the hotel, so getting there from and back to the airport was no problem. If you're going offsite, you should have a car, though, as you can't walk anywhere from there. The people were all quite nice, but the food/drinks were way overpriced. I was there for a conference and I don't have a lot of extra cash to spend so […] it was expensive for me. I've been to this hotel several times in the past and never had any problem, but my recent stay wasn't up to par because the room wasn't well kept. The beds were dishevled upon arrival and there were small ants crawling on the nightstand. When I pulled out the nightstand to find the source of the problem, there were pieces of paper and a sizeable collection […] of dust and hair. Obviously no one had thoroughly cleaned this in a while. I picked up the phone to call the front desk and it didn't work properly. During my stay, I noticed a couple of used pizza boxes on the floor next to the stairwell that remained there throughout the 2 nights/3 days of my stay, despite seeing housekeeping on the floor each day. Overall there was just a lack of attention to the rooms that was obvious and was unexpected for the caliber of this property. The public parts of the hotel were gorgeous, as usual, and well kept. This was our second time staying at the Gaylord. Very disappointing. Our room was dirty upon check-in so we had to be moved to another room (30mins wasted)...and I mean dirty as in towels used and still on floor, dirty glasses on tables, etc... Enjoyed it very much. However, our shower over flowed and the bathroom was under an inch of water and wet my new wife's wedding gown. Hotel dry cleaned it and gave us an upgrade to suite. Suite shower leaked on to the floor also, but not as bad. Service was excellent. Had dinner in shack-type restaurant on premises.
