Couldn't get over the view of Vanderbilt Stadium from the room!! Who needs a ticket with a view like that???

Located adjacent to Vanderbilt Univ. in a cool neighborhood more common to the local population. Still a quick cab ride to the strip on Broadway. Great city and convenient hotel. Hotel parking is pricey but found a spot on the street.

We stayed for a couple nights as my wife had surgery with Dr Byrd. Hotel was close convenient and accommodating. They had a wheelchair that made it handy to go to dinner at the close by restaurants. I have stayed at the Vanderbilt Marriott at least 8 times and have always had excellent service to compliment its terrific beds and spotless rooms. For me, the valet service, the size and quality of the rooms, and the food are better than the Loews, and the prices are also lower. Right outside the front door is a PF Chang, and around the corner are […] lovely shops, more dining, a Starbucks (even though, the Marriott has a Starbucks concession), and a Barnes & Noble that doubles as the Vanderbilt University bookstore. If you are on an admissions trip, the VU building is just a few blocks south on West End. short walk to campus, beautiful park right accross street with 19 tennis courts. Excellent restaurants a short walk away. Perfect location for Vandy visit.

Hotel was very clean; staff very helpful and friendly; valet was timely; expensive but worth the price. Convenient location and shuttle service to downtown.

Hotel staff was helpful and courteous. Location cannot be beat for a visit to Vanderbilt. Hotel and room were clean. Was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early. Having free wifi restricted to public areas was the only drawback.

Extremely convenient and great value considering the age of the facility. I will certainly stay there again. We were only a block away from our meeting so we didn't have to move our car.

Hotel, room and staff were all excellent. Location borders Vanderbilt, directly across from the Parthenon.

My friends and I stayed at the Marriott Vanderbilt for two nights while in town for a concert. The location was just a couple minutes drive from the touristy downtown area and close to the interstate which puts you a short 15 minutes or so drive to the Grand Ole Opry area. There was a free shuttle that was offered to the downtown area, as well. Parking […] was expensive at $24/day for self parking and $26/day for valet. The staff was fairly nice, even though they were a little snooty. We arrived ahead if schedule and tried to check in at 3:30. Our room wasn't ready, so we had to wait. There were many others waiting in the lobby for rooms as well. The staff said our room should be ready by 4:00, which is normal check in time, and asked for my cell so they could call us when our room became available. We waited patiently while the lobby cleared and people who arrived after us where assigned rooms. A little after 4, I asked the staff at the desk if our room was available, and it was. We were glad to get settled, but we were a bit frustrated because they hadn't called my cell to tell us it was ready as they said they would. Over all, the hotel's appearance was nice. The lobby and little bar area are up to date, but our room was slightly dated and showed some disrepair. If had not been vacuumed well, either. It was frustrating that it didn't say how much the parking would cost. Getting your car from the valet takes 15 minutes. The free shuttle was not big enough for everyone plus did not run enough times to be useful.

The hotel environment was as expected for a Marriott. I did not venture into the restaurant or the bar area, but it seemed as if people were enjoying themselves. Was a bit perturbed about the parking situation -- they suggested I could park my car in a self-parking lot, which turned out to be a bit inconvenient -- would recommend just parking your […] car with the Valet attendents. I made reservations believing I was getting two queen beds, when I got to my room I had two doubles. Greatly disappointed! When I made the reservations it said I would get a standard room of either a king or 2 queens, I got neither!!!

Classy hotel, great staff of valet parkers who also run the shuttle service to get you downtown or wherever you need to go, airport, etc. Breakfast had made-to-order omelets and lox - very nice. With the shuttle service, you really don't need to rent a car unless you need to drive around a lot. All in all, a great experience.

2nd stay at the holidays, very nice AGAIN! Pool was great for kids on Christmas day. Stockings with candy on everyone's door Christmas morning. Husband loves 24 hour work out room.

I have stayed at this Marriott on several trips both business and pleasure because of not only the great service and overly accommodating staff, but also the convenience to everything you would want to see while in Nashville! The beds are comfy and room service great as well! A+ for me.

Requested two double rooms received only a single, they would not bring a roll away bed, they blamed expedia for the mix up and said there was nothing they could do that i should deal with expedia. Gave other client that did not go through third party complimentary breakfast for the inconvience when i asked for one i was told in exact words "im Sorry" […] no other explanation. Everything was very nice for a spare of the moment trip. The room was clean and comfortable. I had a fabulous view of Vandy Stadium, but know that if there had been a home game I would not have gotten that room. Parking is a challenge, but the valet service was great!

You cannot go wrong with the Marriot Vanderbilt. You are 2 miles from downtown and practically right on campus...everything I wanted for my weekend. The staff was wonderful and the room was perfect.

We read several reviews that warned about the expense of parking at this hotel, but we ended up parking free of charge. We arrived at 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday and found a spot in the street-level lot that hotel guests share with local retail customers. We left at 5:00 p.m. and, upon our return after 10:30 p.m., found plenty of unoccupied spaces in the […] same lot. The hotel itself was very clean, and our room and bed were very comfortable. Service at the front desk was prompt and efficient. My only complaint (and only reason for not assigning an overall rating of 5) is due to our experience at the hotel bar, where the bartender pretty much ignored us and then overcharged us. everything was great but I am really upset of the valet parking this hotel has. On top of charging you 18$ the night, it took them over 30 minutes to get our car back. I had to remind the attendant about this and we were not the only ones. Good hotel, but the parking issue really stinks. Never staying here again for that reason.
