Villa Rivoli - Nizza

The hotel room was a big disappointment, it was in the basement and very small. A little window with bars nearby the sealing was the only source of natural light. The bed wasn't a double bed which we ordered but two separated beds. Smell of mold was saluting us at the room's door.The first thing was to fix the sink's plug which was jammed. During two […] days we lost electricity three times but luckily the fuse box was pretty near in the corridor. The soap stand couldn't handle the weight of two shampoo bottles. Investigation of dropped stand revealed pair of attachment screws which were severely corroded. There wasn't any kind of ventilation in the bathroom and that could be the reason for the smell and corrosion of all the steel parts. Minor shortage was the missing batteries of the remote control. The maintenance of air conditioning machine was forgotten. However, the staff were nice and helpful but we wouldn't come back to this hotel. Actually we changed the hotel for the next four nights. Very nice hotel with good location and personal sevice. The staff was nice. The room was nice, but needs some attention. The bathroom does not meet the standard. Needs instant overhaul.

Nice hotel, decor would have been charming (fabric lined walls, nice curtains) had it not been for the carpet tiles and IKea wardrobe. Very comfortable bed, decent sized flat screen TV that worked, immaculately clean and modern bathroom. Friendly welcome and smooth departure. Visit to Villa Rivoli was nice and pleasant. Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were spotlessly clean (though tiny) and breakfast delicious. There's some walking to old town and restorant and shopping areas, but beach is around the corner. And free wi-fi was adequate. I would definitely recommend this hotel to leisure travel!

The hotel is located in an old villa in a quiet street, with walking distance to the Promenade, and to the shopping areas. The staff was very friendly. Good breakfast with more variation than usual in French hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

Service was fantastic and the location was a 5 minute walk to the beach-front. Good value for money too, even-though it was low-season!

Stayed here early november, 4 nights. Room: Small but cozy, VERY clean! Location: Only 3 blocks from beach and Negresco! Walking distance to everything, bars, restaurants, beach, perfect! Service: Excellent, helpfull stuff, even though we speak french, nice to hear they speak english! People in room above us were walking in their shoes and every single step was like a hammer beat! Also very loud when trucks outside were emptying trash cans or whatever they were doing. Great location, close to cafes and short walk to Promenade de Anglais; 5-10min walk from SNCF and 5 min to the airport bus stop. Make sure to question the room charges if something's not right and they'll be happy to accommodate.

This hotel is small, but so charming. It's very easy to reach by bus from the airport, very close to the beach, and in an adorable area of the city. It was so charming.

Spent four nights in this lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room, breakfast etc was a very high standard - Would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Nice - It is a good 10 minute to the old town from here. Also please note that the beach is not included in the price - but the hotel offers reduced rate at the Blue Beach […] - which is a very nice clean and comfortable beach with a good restaurant and is litterly a couple of mins from the hotel. i stayed for 2 nights and felt very welcome and comfortable there. The only complaint was that my room was in the basement and it smelt musty and old. but still I would stay here again...just in another room. The staff were so so lovely and the location was perfect.

Well located, the people in the front desk was very kind and helpful, the rooms (because were in 2 during our stay) are very nice, even the one in the basement is pretty. The room´s decoration is very nice also. It´s 4-5 blocks away from the train station.

Stayed for a long weekend with my girlfriend. The room was very good - the bathroom modern and clean; overall the room was very clean. Close enough to the Old Town - a very nice stroll along the beach to the Old Town (and very close to the beach). This hotel was more like a childrens hostel not a hotel. There were not enough pillows so my business associate slept without one. There was no one to help with the bags and not an elevator. So we carried our bags up two flights of stairs. The employees were very kind but they could not help as the problem was with the hotel. The rooms were so small […] you could not turn around in them. The Villa Rivoli was a delightful find. The rooms are charming and cozy (small, but you should expect that in any European hotel). Nice little touches like towel warmers in the bathroom and free internet access make the rooms both modern and quite comfortable. A generous and inexpensive breakfast is served in an adorable sitting room with views of […] a garden. The service staff are extremely helpful and kind. A few notes - as this is a boutique hotel, there are no on-site staff after 11 (although there IS a number to call for after-hours urgent problems). Be sure to ask for the code to the door so you can get in after 11. Also, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy after dark (this is true of many areas of Nice - especially the Old City). There were 'working girls' within a few blocks of the hotel. It didn't feel unsafe, but women traveling alone might want to come back from dinner a bit earlier in the evening, or take a taxi. Excellent hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The ladies on reception were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful- very quaint with lots of detail and decoration. It had a lot of character and the room was a great size. Our room overlooked the back garden, which was lovely. I recently stayed at Villa Rivoli for 4 nights and it was one of the best and most memorable hotel stays ever. The staff is warm and welcoming, very kind with my very rusty French and helpful with directions and things to do. They believe in service with a smile. The airport express bus stops just down the road either at La Buffa or Avenue des Anglaises […] so don't shell out for a cab. The room was very pretty and very French. Stay was perfect. Staff friendly and efficient. Location superb close to promenade with the Negresco hotel at the end of the street 250 metres away. Room was large and very comfortable by Franch standards. Bathroom modern and clean. Couldnt recommend Villa Rivoli highly enough

Marvellous as Aussies we don't usually have good language skills, but the staff were brilliant. we were mucked up by a strike in the transport (government) and they helped us heaps. service, room cleanlyness, position all brilliant. HIGHLY RECOMENDED. Our shower was small but it didn't ruin the experience

We stayed one night in the Villa Rivoli and were very happy with everything. The rooms are a bit small but are quite charming with lovely decor. We had breakfast in the garden which was very pleasant. Staff were good (especially the nice German guy serving at breakfast). All in all, a good hotel, keenly priced and very close to the seafront.

Friendly staff...the only problem is no elevator...so if you have lots of luggage, it is a bit tiring...

The Villa Rivoli in Nice is a gem. It's a very French hotel. The rooms are smallish but adequate, and our room had what looked to be a recently refurbished bathroom. Rooms are air-conditioned, and the A/C works great! Hotel also has free Wi-Fi, but use with caution - our email contact list was hijacked and everyone on it got a spam with our email as […] the "From", and I think it was hijacked from the hotel wireless. Staff were wonderful. I got a guided tour of the main floor when I checked in, and everyone was wonderful. Breakfast is available for extra cost but is done very well. Can ask the staff to prepare hard or soft-boiled egg(s), and assortment of breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, etc. Coffee was good! Location is great. Hotel is about 5 minute walk to the beach, and maybe 10 minute walk to old Nice shopping. Immediate neighborhood is fine - we walked in the area at night and all was fine. it is very comfortable and the nearest to important place, such as beach, train station , not to far from the city center and old town.

a lovely hotel perfectly situated for the promenade de anglais(2mins) and 7 mins from the station. our double room was simply furnished but immaculately clean and everything was in a good condition. our room was lovely and quiet . the air conditioning was a must as we were there in july which was28 degrees.

This is a small 2 star hotel positioned 100 meters from the the Nice Promenade and Negresco, and an easy walk to the old town. Hotel parking space is limited and a little expensive at 15Euro a day, but the room had character and was very clean, and a very good for a French 2star. Recommend you pay the extra for en-suite. Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Nice and can only say positive things about this hotel. While not the most modern hotel, our room was clean and while quite modest it was perfectly adequate for a short weekend break. Location is fantastic as it is only a few short minutes from the gorgeous promenade des Anglais and is only a short 15- 20 min stroll […] the to the gorgeous old town of Nice. While we did not breakfast in the hotel, we were advised that it was a buffet. The staff were fantastic. Really helpful , providing maps and directions in a friendly and pleasant manner whenever required. Ideal location - central, near beach and not far from main line station. A wonderful hotel, so obviously French. If you want characterless, sterile,chain-type hotel then please do not go here - you will ruin it for all of us who love original and quirky places

女性一人で滞在しました。ホテルをでてすぐ近くにバス停があり、9番か10番で旧市街近くまでいけます。シャガール美術館までもバスが出ています。 スタッフ全員とても感じがよく、スーパーやネットカフェの場所を丁寧に教えてくれました。朝食のついていないプランでしたが追加10ユーロで食べられるとの事。パンの種類も沢山あり、おしゃれな部屋とテラスで食べられるそうです。次回は食べてみたいです。 部屋はとても可愛い内装で、清潔です。部屋と部屋の壁が薄いせいか隣のテレビの音が気になったよるがありましたが、壁を「コンコン」とたたいたらすぐにボリュームを下げてくれたので眠れました。嫌な思いは何もなかったです。次回も滞在したいホテルです。

Trevligt litet hotell med med bra atmosfär och trevlig personal. Fin tillhörande trädgård. Endast 200 meter till stranden och gångavstånd till centrum med shopping. 100 meter till busstation och många restauranger i närliggande området. a

Enestående service fra personalets side. Troede vi havde booket hotel med morgenmad, så var lidt overrasket over at det ikke fulgte med. Bør være lidt mere tydeligt ved bestilling. Ellers perfekt service

Fantastisk bra service. Lite gammelt hotell som er å anbefale. Nydelig frokost. Hjemmekoselig. Litt korte senger. Et hotell man gjerne kommer tilbake til.

Ett mycket bra hotell. Familjär känsla, endast 26 rum. Personalen var fantastisk och frukosten är väl värd att äta (ingår ej i rumspriset). Nära stranden.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung für 3 Tage in diesem schönen, romantischen Hotel im Zentrum von Nizza und Nähe zur Promende des Anglaises. Unsere Erwartungen wurden gar übertroffen. Ein Hotel mit französichem Charme unter deutscher Leitung. Alle Mitarbeiterinnen waren äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam. Unser Zimmer- nochmals Danke für das upgrade!- war sehr […] stilvoll eingerichtet, sehr gutes, französisches Bett, stilvolle Stofftapete. Hat uns ein wenig an unseren letzten Aufenthalt in Paris erinnert. Die Kombination aus traditionell romantischem Zimmer und modernem Bad ist gut gelungen. Sehr angenehm auch das separate WC. Das reichhaltige und ansprechend aufgebaute Frühstück konnten wir entweder im Salon oder im schönen romantischen Gärtchen genießen. Hemtrevligt hotell med personlig service och bra läge. Enkelt att ta sig dit från flygplatsen. Lugn miljö. Lagom promenadavstånd via gågator till gamla stan och konstmuseerna. Rummet var ej avbokningsbart. Dyr Frukost med enbart vitt bröd och dåligt kaffe var enda plumpen i protokollet. Plus för TV med Eurosport och skidVM med Nortug!
