Perfect place to stay!!! My husband and I flew to Adelaide for the weekend, first time in Adelaide. With the friendly, professional, helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. From booking our tour to the Barossa, checking us in for our flight home, printing our boarding passes. The services rendered by the staff at the reception were excellent. Hotel at the start seems a little old but soon a certain old world charm seems to happen. Visited friends in newer hotels but preferred to return to ours. Restaurants for every taste in nearby streets.

Good Hotel in good location close to Adelaide city centre attractions. Reasonable rates.

The property was centrally located to all major attractions and public transport. Hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help with any request, Room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The hotel was conveniently located near great eateries and restaurants on Hindley Street.

Brilliant location on a quiet street, just around the corner from Rundle Mall. Great sized room and huge bathroom. Very Happy with our stay.

Great position but not the luxury I expected. A little on the old side. TV doesn't have many channels.

A warm and inviting hotel to relax in; almost like a private club.

hotel charges high per minute rate for slow internet when almost every backpacker hostel or country town roadside motel has free internet nowadays!

The hotel decor was a little seedy. The view from my window was a brick wall across an alley. However, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

For what we paid, we were expecting something more than a small room with an old TV and minimal facilities. The room was very small, two small windows and the decor was outdated to say the least. I thought for the price we paid, we should have gotten more. It is in no way a 4 star hotel. This hotel is very well placed in CBD Adelaide. The deluxe room was comfortable, although furniture was marked as was the carpet. We appreciated a desk and reasonable chair for computer work. We would return there, but hope for a little renovation of furnishings.

Travelling with a friend, this was a huge room; loads of space. Included a fridge and a table to have breakfast on. Bathroom needed a little TLC, just a lick of paint would have been appreciated in here as it was a little peeling. The main room was fine though. A short walk to the main street. Central Adelaide great position to see all that Adelaide has to offer.

I have stayed four nights while it was cold in Adelaid during Sept 2010. The staff are very helpful. There was a problem with the AC system. It was very disturbing in my room !. After I reported the problem, the staff kindly changed my room, but the heaing system in the other room is going off by its own and my room goes cold again. There was something […] WRONG. I would recommend this hotel to others if they needed a central location to stay in the city of Adelaide and were not intending to spend a lot of time in their room. Admittedly, my room was described as an "economy" room and was priced as such. It did not have any view at all. There were two small vertical windows which were not strategically placed. […] However the bathroom was more than adequate (although only a shower, no bath). The best part of this Hotel is without doubt the location. Central to all of Adelaide's CBD's attractions. If you are looking for something in the centre of town then this place will do. Some of the things that did not impress, are the spa temp was a little too cold along with the pool water, not inviting in August. The TV's in the room were a little […] too small and need updating. No plates, or toaster to make snacks. We didn't have a great view but i would imagine that the other side would be great. Grand Chancellor should be the Very Average Chancellor. Rate was reasonable but only represented fair value. Room was plain and somehwat dated, the bed only moderately comfortable. The bathroom was spartan and the shower was just placed in the corner with a curtain around it - no base or screen. This meant the water splashed everywhere and formed a […] considerable pool. Makes a mockery of their request to use the minimum number of towels because you need every spare towel to mop up the water. Advertised foxtel but you get very few extra channels - mostly sport. Very sophisticated and classic room. It was so much more than what we had envisioned. We absolutely loved the cleanliness, the decor, and the quality of the hotel/room. Would absolutely recommend and can't wait to stay there again. It was in the heart of everything. Everything in walking distance.
