Disney Grand Californian was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The craftsmanship and landscape of the property is unbelievable!

Great place to stay with kids when you are visiting Disneyland. Close to everything and easy access to go back and forward to your room.

It was great. Had a wall leak issue that flooded our bathroom when we returned from the park the 1st day. Front desk moved us immediately and the rest of the week was perfect. If planning to visit the Cars area the Grand Californian Hotel is the way to go getting in a hour early.

Location is its best asset, being connected to California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney, which connects to Disneyland. Rooms are spacious with a queen bed and double-decker bed for my two kids. Fantastic because we were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday and we were upgraded to a beautiful suite.. We could enter the park an hour before the general public so did popular rides before the crowds arrived. Staff were very friendly and it's a special place to have your birthday !

My grand-daughter and I had a wonderful 3 day there. The service was wonderful, people very pleasant and helpful. We were sure they cared about our having a good time and we did.

The staff was wonderful. Room was nice, a little far from lobby but still nice. Hotel did not have a continental breakfast, and the inhouse restruants were a bit pricey. But overall everything was Great. A plus was the ability to enter the parks an hour before any others. The hotel is well maintained and service is good. It seems a bit overpriced for the accommodations, though. You cannot beat the location for its proximity to Downtown Disney, the convenience for purchasing passes, nor for the short lines to get into the California Adventure park. These things, combined, almost justify the expense.

The hotel is a pricey for the room size, but the location is unbeatable. Since we had 2 kids who needed to take naps each day, we wanted a hotel as close as possible to Disneyland/California Adventure. Hotel didn't disappoint because we had exclusive entrance to CA Adventure and 5 min walk to Disneyland.

Stayed there 2 nights and loved it! So close to both parks and Downtown Disney. Food at the Story Teller's restaurant was yummy!

This hotel is nice but not any nicer than something that costs less than half as much per night. What that means is the price premium is all about being on property. The hotel was excellent! We got in an hour early to the park. I would book a room again, they made it very convenient. But I suggest not eating at their restaurant Storytellers Cafe, it is too expensive and my son had hair in his food. Food was bland and not much selection for kids or vegetarians.

Another $50 a night and I may finally stay somewhere else, but the connivence when you have little ones that still nap is worth quite a bit.

Would have liked a little more pizzaz for the $. Big hotel, great convenience, but for $450/ night, would have expected a bit more.

Love that the hotel is close to Disneyland and has an entrance into California Adventure! Made it super easy to take a break from the parks and rest before heading back out. Staff super accommodating! No wait for check-in (even bought our park tickets at the front desk), luggage service or valet parking. Awesome! Hotel was wonderful, however, there is another hotel on the resort property that we have stayed at that we liked more. The beds were not the most comfortable and the sheets were rough. Otherwise, it was great.

The only unfortunate part of our stay is that the bathroom pipes made a continuous noise that was very distracting, especially at night. Apparently this is from air in the pipes. Since the hotel had upgraded us for free when we checked in, I did not complain about it and it didn't prevent us from sleeping. It is something the hotel should check out […] though. Everything was great. My husband and I went for a Kid free weekend for our anniversary. The hotel was very accomidating they gave us anniversary buttons to wear at the parks. When you first get there it is kind of a cluster lots of people and congestion at the front entrance hard to see which line is for bell services and which is for checking in. The […] only think i didnt like was that when they put our card on file they for "incidentals" they didnt tell me that they were charging my card right then for the vallet parking. We had cash and intended on spending only the cash without using our bank cards. So when we were checking out I went to the front desk to pay for my vallet only to find out it had been paid and charged at the time of check in which i was unaware of. I didnt like that at all. My card was to be on file and thats it not used for anything, of course unless we broke something or ruined the room. I think if they are going to charge your card they need to be upfront and tell you at check in. Overall a great place to stay, the convience of having a back park entrance is awesome so your not waiting in a huge line to get inside California Adventure. We got a room with the view of downtown disney, which at first i was a little skeptical of but it worked out great. the sliding doors have awesome sound proofing so you cant hear the noise outside and we could see the fireworks from Disneyland. Rooms are very pricey and nothing special. The location is the best advantage and we were able to go back to our room really easily throughout the day without the hassle of taking a tram and dealing with parking lots. So I would definitely stay here again!

Worth every penny. Disney knows how to treat you right and from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave they put you at ease and all in the world is good.

Although the "full" Disney experience is pricy, it's definitely worth it at least once. The Grand Californian is a gorgeous hotel, with exceptional service from each and every employee (or cast member as they like to dub themselves). Everyone greets you with a smile, the rooms are comfortable and impeccably clean. Disney does not disappoint in the details […] - we had turn-down service, fuzzy robes, chocolates, and a wonderful feature where you could send souveneirs purchased in the park directly to your room. Hotel was very nice and cozy. There was a fireplace and a man playing the piano. Hotel is near the Downtown Disney and is near entrance of California Adventures. Very convenient. I would recommend families and couples to stay here. A place filled with lots of joy!

When we arrived and checked in they said our room was not ready and that they would text us when it was. They never texted us. Had to go back to the desk and ask. Upon arriving in our room I found soap in the shower from a previous guest. There was no waste basket in the room except for the bathroom. The breakfast in the hotel with the characters was […] way over priced. You couldn't even get a bowl of cereal unless you paid for the buffet which was also over priced for what you got. The food was ok but some of it was luke warm such as the potatoes. Your only choice for fruit was melons. No bananas, strawberries, or blueberries. There were a few things I was disappointed with on our recent stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Even though the hotel was only 55% full (according to the Guest Services Representative), we were placed in a room next door to a storage room. In the middle of the night, two out of the three nights of our stay, we were awakened in the middle […] of the night by staff storing things in the room next door, letting doors slam, and flushing toilets. I brought this to the attention of the Guest Services Representative and he offered to move us to a different room for our final night. We chose not to move. One more disappointing thing, I left a room service card out one of the nights and the staff failed to pick it up, thus, we did not receive our pot of coffee that morning. The facility is beautiful. Way too crowded. We felt rushed out of our hotel room with the maids in the hallway waiting to change sheets beginning at 7 AM. We lined up at 6:45 for early entry into the park at 7 AM and we did not get into the park through the grand Californian private entrance until 7:30 AM using up 30 minutes of our early admission just waiting in line to get […] into Disneyland California Adventure! This was our first trip to Disneyland. The Grand California was superb and I would highly recommend staying there. It is central to all things Disney and the service was excellent.

I took my 5 year old daughter and 65 year old mother to Disneyland for the holidays, the Grand Hotel took our trip over the top. Without the magic we wouldn't of been able to make half of the rides we did. We did all of fantasy land plus 3 other rides in the magic hour. Being able to walk back to our room for downtime and lunch kept my daughter in a […] great mood. I never let my little one take a batch in hotels but this tub was the cleanest hotel tub I have ever seen. The staff was so amazing. The day we checked out we were still playing in the park. Hotel, although beautiful, seems worn. The pricing is extemely high for what you get. I pay the same prices for Hawaii, which is worth the cost. However, the staff is fabulous and makes certain your needs are met at all possible.

It was wonderful being so close to the park. Staff was great. The only downside was that the front desk did not tell us about the Craftsman's cub when we checked in. Ultimate convenience to Disneyland and California Adventure parks. Easy walking between hotel and parks as well as the Downtown Disney area. Self parking for the car is across the street so is not as near to the hotel as the Paradise Pier hotel. Parking rates are typical for mid-tier hotel. The most amazing motel. We have travelled for many years to Disneyland staying at many motels including the other Disney resorts but this ones take the cake for being the best. The beds are very soft and comfortable, very clean, decor is nice.Valet parking is well taken care of. Probably would not recommend to a friend as it is not value for money in comparison to other hotels of the same price. However, I guess it costs more due to its convenient location in Disneyland.

Wonderful hotel especially at Christmas. Super friendly staff and wonderful little holiday touches everywhere -- carollers, Santa, the amazing fire with staff telling bedtime stories. Fantastic!
