My experience with inns is that they're nice places to eat, but they usually have shoddy construction, making them very noisy. This place is nicely built. Simple rooms, but nice service and a good night's sleep. The breakfast was also well-done and simple.

Wonderful food and luxurious room. Breakfast was included and consisted of help yourself fruit, cereal, various breads and muffins, juice, and a different kind of tart each day. It also included a well prepared hot dish eggs Benedict one day and ham and cheese omelet the next. Not caring for eggs Benedict I was able to order a cheese omelet. Staff was […] friendly and helpful and upon arriving we were upgraded to a suite with two fireplaces and a Jacuzzi for two. Carter House serves complimentary wine at 5 but were not wine drinkers but apparently they have an award winning wine. It is an easy walk to view the harbor and not far from downtown. Most parking was on the street and we had read that nothing should be left in the car due to the number of transits (true of all hotels in Eureka - we were two blocks off of 101 - probably good advice anywhere). Bed was extremely comfortable and if it hadn't been large trucks involved in repaving 101 through the night, traffic noise would not have been noticed. My wife absolutely loved our experience. I don't normally stay in that price hotel, but comparing it with others and including breakfast, I found the price reasonable for our vacation. Highlight of the trip for my wife was all the shops in Ferndale, although Eureka has their share too. I enjoyed photographing many of the local spots. Lisätietoja
