The room smelled like urine and the furniture was all beat up

You get what you pay for, and I didn't want to pay for anything except a shower and a bed..and that's exactly what I got. Perfect. Clean.

Its your basic no frills room, nice staff and a convenient location for us.

We loved how close the Motel was to the beach. My kids and I walked there everyday. The people who own the hotel also manage it. They were kind and very accommodating, they even suggested where to eat. We had a great time. The motel is older but it's clean and it was the perfect place to crash after a long day at the beach. It is within walking distance of the beach, Seal Beach and Ruby's is a short drive away, bit of a walk if you like to walk. It's not a bad location really, but the parking lot is cramped, the hotel rooms are VERY tiny, specially if you get the King sized bed, the room is no bigger than the other rooms, so you basically walk on the bed. The jetted tubs […] were nice, if a bit loud. I didn't see any bugs but the rooms were about on par with a Motel Six in a remote town in cleanliness. Reading any review is an exercise in frustration. Reading many of the reviews on this motel, one would never stay here; however, they would be mistaken. I have stayed at almost every hotel and motel in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach and this one was a true sleeper. My last stay was ten days. The room, although small, was more than enough for me. I […] spend all day surfing, beach combing, and touring so the last thing I do is spend a day inside. And location is excellent: several beaches, great restaurants (Don the Beachcomber next door is fantastic), shops, and many other attractions are close by. Yeah, the name is a misnomer, but so what? You'd pay two to three times for a better glimpse of the ocean, and if your too lazy to walk over to it, then you really ought to stay home. Every day, fresh soap, shampoo, towels, coffee (the KKK next door has a coffee maker, but they don't provide coffee ... and it is a dive!), microwave popcorn, snacks, and mints are replaced. With an HD TV and cable, microwave, and refrigerator, you have all you need. There's a reason this motel fills up every night while all the others nearby are nearly empty. What's to lose? When checking-in hotel was paid in full through Hotels.com, they "demanded" a $200.00 deposit. Front desk clerk very rude.

First of all, I am not one to EVER complain about short term hotel stays, and as such have NEVER previously went out of my way to write a review. But I simply had to take the time out to warn others about this place because of my stay. The place is INFESTED with bed bugs - I averaged about 10 new disgusting bites on my body every night. I examined the sheets upon arrival and found many hairs in the sheets leading me to believe they didn't even bother to change them if they r not obviously stained up. The owners/managers are CREEPY. The 'lobby' if you want to call it that STINKS so bad I couldn't be in there for more than 1 minute. The hotel staff will continually peer in through your window to 'check up' on you?!?! if you curtains aren't drawn.. seriously?? Cops were on the premises 2 separate nights out of my stay there around 2-3 in the morning. The location is decent it being very close to the beach but please DO NOT LET the location fool you. I finally cancelled my stay and booked a couple of nights at the hotel down the street and it felt like I was at the 5 star hotel in comparison - no joke. The funny part it was only a few dollars more a night to stay. I only wish I had made that decision sooner now my body is full of nasty bites. By the way, the free 'wi-fi' worked only for one night and thereafter it totally disappeared and was nowhere to be found. In conclusion, if you're looking for a bug INFESTED, dirty place with CREEPY staff and horrible conditions and want to save a couple dollars, stay here. This is a small, welll maintained motel close to the beach, restaurants and stores. The room was comfortable and the mini-refrigerator and microwave were a great convenience. THe management and staff were very friendly and helpful.

our overall stay in the oceanview motel was a good experience we weren't bothered by the owners we had our privicey and when we needed something they didn't think twice about helping us...

I liked this hotel.. it's affordable and in a great location the room wasnt very nice but it was a good place to just crash.. I walked to everything so all in all I would say if your looking for a cheap place to stay this is it

hotel staff could use a class in PR...our room was really small...and if there was an oceanview it was somewhere behind all of the condos across the street....walk on the beach, don't think so...suggest Long Beach.

I was moving out of the house and just need a place to sleep for 2 nights before moving in to a new place. the first night I checked in it was too late almost midnight. I was so tired and fell asleep right away. The next morning I woke up and went straight to the storage and didn't pay attention to my car until my friend asked me what happened to the […] rear end. I parked my car at the hotel, and someone packed up or hit my car at the rear end. It was terrible. Besides, everything is not working in the room: tv remote control, telephonie, alarm, a curtain in the bath room is old and dirty. I called the front desk, and a lady who claimed she's the manager there came up to check it, she was so rude and took a tv remote control downstair to fix it and never came back to return it and check the phone and alarm also. The hotel was a good price, clean and convient. But being right on the Pacific Coast Highway where the speer limit is 50mph it was incredibly noisy. I couldn't sleep even with a pillow over my ears.

Great location, a short walk to beautiful beach and inland bay as well as really good restaurants and nightlife and other fun activities. The hotel room had a big king that was very comfortable and a large flat screen tv w/ 100 channels, ie Golf, Food, History, Discovery, Spike etc. It also had a micro and mini fridge. It was tidy and small compared […] to the bed. Nice, clean bath/shower but small bath room. It is less than 5 miles to downtown HB, less to Seal Beach and Belmont Shores. We played two great golf courses that were about 10 minutes drive from the property, Meadowlark and El Dorado, fantastic! This place is a jumping off spot to very good times all around and about. Donn the Beachcomber is legendary. Taco Surf is kind grinds, and Brix is awesome! Harbour House and Woody's are right there and both have really good food too! We booked this hotel, because they pictures showed that it was near the beach,and with a nice view. The hotel, and the view did not look anything like the pictures.

Service was great, rooms where clean, very close to the beach and other restaurants. The attendant was super nice and checked me in very quick. I had a great stay.

The couple who work/at the check-in counter were rude and un-helpful. There were tattered chairs out front surrounded by garbage (as if bums sat around and hung out nightly). The bedding was not washed, the pillows had the hotel name and phone number written in marker on them. When checking out I asked for a receipt or documentation stating I had stayed […] there, the management was reluctant and then proceeded to get loud shall we say unprofessional with me so much so my boyfriend saw/heard from the parking lot and came in. Poor customer service, motel owner acted like he didn't know what was going on. He was giving inaccurate info and didn't provide any type of service. I will never ever go there again or recommend someone to go there.

You get what you pay for. We wanted somewhere cheap to crash for one night. The only 'complaint' I have is the smell in the room. Although the rooms are non-smoking, the carpet has suffered years of smoke probably from before the family took over the business. Otherwise, it's a nice family-owned motel with all the basics.

You get what you pay for room had a disgusting smell went to albertsons and bought cleaning supplies and febreeze plug ins, besides that location was good and by the way it is a bit away from the freeway.

The hotel as it sits is acceptable enough, considering how close it is to the beach and restaurants, but the staff is not even unfriendly. They're pretty much non-existent. The front desk clerk was extremely unfriendly upon check-in, and extremely friendly at check-out time, particularly when she suggested we give them a good review.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with our stay. Because of the rate we were expecting less than what we got. The room was very clean, staff was very friendly and accomadating. Close to the beach. Great experience and we can't wait to return.

We were not expecting much more than a place to sleep, but we did not expect the room to be so dirty. Mold on the curtains, blood stained sheets and "short hairs" on the sheets and towels. Stinky, stinky, stinky!!!! Bring a sented candel and some air freshener!!!! Location makes it easy to get to all the local beaches.

The pictures are much nicer than the actual room. Felt like a motel 6 room even though I paid a premium price - really just paid for the location. Staff was really creepy, not very polite at all. I would never stay there again.

Stayed here 2 nights during the U.S. Open thinking it would be good to be away from all of the HB traffic. First, it's listed in Huntington Beach but located 15 miles away in Sunset Beach. Ok, no big deal. Second, the "oceanview" is a little four foot gap in between houses across the street. Slightly bigger deal. We got whatwe expected given the price and location. The unexpected nicety was the friendly family that manages the hotel on-site. Also enjoyed the short walk to Sunset Beach and to nearby restaurants. Negatives - PCH noise, relentless all night! stay here every year for easy walk to uncrowded beach. Rooms have been updated and family running hotel very friendly.

Situated in a perfect place and on outwards appearance it was fine. Open the door to chipped particle board, microwave on the bedside, cramped, and a really uncomfortable bed. Now the lien was hap hazard placed on the bed and it smelled, wrinkled and not taught to the mattress . The smell was enough to make me use a sweatshirt as a pillow, not overwhelming, […] just a "whats that" when you lie down. This Hotel does what it says. It has a bed, shower, toilet and sink. Bed was firm but OK. Location was good, on the PCH at North end of Sunset Beach walking distance from many restaurants/bars.

I'm sure when this motel was orginally built there was lots of ocean views, but with progress you mostly see houses unless you know where to look between them to see the Pacific. This motel was clean and the staff very friendly. It serviced its purpose for what I had intended it for. You can walk over to the beach. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk […] and is not a tourist spot but the beach is clean and well maintained. I liked not having to be around all the crowds so I was in heaven. Lisätietoja

this was not a very good motel, for the want more then they give. put us on the three floor with just stairs. not nice to us.

You are really paying for the location of the hotel and not the quality of the room/service. Pros: location, location, location. The beds/pillows are decent and comfortable. They do have blowdryers in some rooms but you just have to ask the front desk in case your room doesn't. I liked that I could see my car from my hotel window. The hotel management […] is friendly. Cleaning people do a great job. Nice flatscreen TVs. Cons: The room I stayed in you could hear the toilet of the room above everytime it was flushed, not too loud but annoying. Right beside Pacific Coast Highway - easy to find

This hotel is not the best to stay at but the employees are very honest. I left my wallet there with quite a bit of money in it. When I called about it, they had it with nothing was taken out of it. I am so glad there are some honest people left in this world.

Dirty! Burns in the sheets and comforter as well. Carpet was sticky and had burns in it. The furniture was very old and very bad. The staff was bad as was the lobby. Nothing good here......just do not stay there.
