The Green House - Bournemouth

A great hotel, beautifully furnished to a high standard. Rooms are exceptionally clean. Beds very comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order and to a high standard. The owners have obviously put a lot of effort into getting everything right. Small details that make a big difference to your stay like fresh milk for your tea.

I used the hotel for 1 night due to business meeting in the area,, the staff were friendly and made me feel very comfortable, even in the bar the staff chatted away to me as I was on my own. Food was fantastic as was breakfast.

The hotel was great. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The staff were all very helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. The breakfast was also of an equally high standard. Would recommend to anyone who likes a boutique hotel with the service that comes with it. Booked for my wife's birthday and was not disappointed. As a weekly hotel dweller I was delighted with the setting, accomodation, food and service. Cannot recommend this hotel enough! Suggest you book a master room as you get a roll-top freestanding bath, but book early as we missed out! however the 'rain-style' shower was not a disappointment!

This hotel is just perfect... I can't fault anything. Our room was not huge but it was definitely luxurious with the Victorian roll top bath and very comfortable bed... We did not want to get out of it.. Just loved it- especially as everything was eco friendly. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of beach. A very enjoyable 2 night stay at The Green House for my husband and I. Clean, close to both the centre and beach, good breakfast and wonderful evening meal. Very friendly hotel staff too. I would definitely reccommend a stay if planning a visit to Bournemouth.

My wife & I enjoyed a very pleasant two days at this very clean & peaceful hotel. The room was clean, well appointed & gave us excellent sleeping conditions. The breakfast menu was totally adequate & was cooked freshly to order. We will certainly stay there again.

Very high quality standards! The room was beautiful, not large but fine for one and had all that I needed. Luxurious lines and toiletries. Very helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was superb. The only disappointment was that the heating was off in the room when I arrived and it didn't really warm up all evening.

Hard to put into words how well this hotel has achieved luxury - bedding, decor, contemporary furnishings, electrical goods - with such commitment to the environment. To have windows that open is a small thing, but a real bonus to 'fresh air' bods. Rooms spotless. Staff very helpful. We will return sometime again this year hopefully.

Very pleasant hotel with quality furnishings in the bedrooms. Nothing negative to report except for lack of noise insulation on the bedroom door. Well located, freindly staff. Would recommend.

Good food, comfortable bed, wonderful pillows, great shampoo and body wash, fast WiFi access, quality television, friendly staff. Only one niggle - the insomniac in the room above made the floor creak as he wandered about at 2am, so stay on the top floor!

Not the usual seaside resort hotel. Refreshingly different in many respects - decor, service. The only criticism I would make, is the bed in my room was two singles pushed together and made up as a double. It also had a waterproof sheet under the bottom sheet - not the most comfortable set up.

The basic rooms have only a double, not a king size bed, we had a ground floor room next to the kitchen - which was extremely noisy early in the morning. Breakfast service is very slow and disjointed.

Nicely re-furbished hotel in a pleasant environment. Customer service at front desk was sadly very disappointing,some serious customer service training is required. Also , when asked if the light bulb in the bathroom could be changed, we were told that the maintenance man was on holiday and they would see what could be done. Needless to say, it was […] never changed in the four days we were there. We also requested an extra bed when we booked the room, and when we arrived in the room there was no extra bed. The Green House hotel is conveniently situated about 10 minutes walk from the pier. If walking to the hotel it is uphill but the initial part of the climb can be eliminated by taking the cliff lift. The hotel itself is well appointed with good quality furniture and accessories. The breakfast was expensive at £15 per head but was fresh and well cooked. […] "Full English" however does not need to be presented in a nouveau cuisine 'stack'. The small double rooms are small with barely room to turn round. The tea and coffee making equipment was on a tray in the wardbrobe and it was not possible to extract the tray as there was not sufficient space to fully open the wardrobe door! The shower and toilet room was small with only enough room to turn round and if sitting on the toilet your knees were almost knocking the door! Had a great stay at the hotel, very relaxed, friendly staff, good location to explore the local surroundings, beauitfully decorated and liked the info about all the eco aspects of the hotel, all round perfect hotel stay!

Stayed at THE GREEN HOUSE on the 24th march for 3 nights, every thing about this Hotel is first class..the location is perfect for the Beach or Town both only minutes walk away. Staff are very freindly and helpful..food was excellent..decorated to a high standard through out ,we had a large room with with view over the gardens..could not fault room […] done to a very high standard..... Really beautiful boutique hotel, 3 mins walk to the beach and very quiet area at night. Friendly but unobtrusive staff. Room was great and the roll-top bath in front of the window was fabulous. Bathroom was v nicely done, good toiletries and the robes were a nice touch. On the downside, the super kingsize bed was actually 2 singles and the gap/ridge […] in the middle was annoying. The lighting could have been brighter for putting on make-up/shaving and a couple of chairs plus a set of drawers would have been useful - all minor points though. The breakfast was a bit of a let down - focus was on artistic presentation rather than substance - & the scrambled egg had the look and texture of puréed baby food. Very good value for this quality of hotel considering the discount via hotels.com. Lots of attention to detail to fulfil the eco-friendly remit. Breakfasts were very good, can't comment on the evening meals as we didn't eat dinner there (menus looked expensive but carefully sourced, probably good for foodies). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even with a 19 month old baby in an up market establishment the staff and other guest were very freindly and helpfull and we couldn't fault a thing.

Thoroughly well designed boutique hotel with beautiful rooms and communal areas. This defies normal 'hairshirt' interpretations of sustainable building design by careful selections of materials and offers organic, locally sourced, food prepared and served to the highest standards. We stayed three nights over a weekend and appreciated the central location […] of the hotel, the easy parking, comfort & design of our large double room and quality of the food. Our first floor room at the front of the hotel had a large freestanding bath and walk in shower in the same space as the bed, only the wc and basin were in a small separate room. As the bedroom was large this arrangement did not detract from the usability of the space, although the bath's location in the bay window made it tricky to use without fiddling about opening and shutting blinds to spare passers-by from unintentioned views. Not sure how well the rooms fare in hot weather as the hotel understandbly has chosen to avoid aircon. Only downside of our room was it's position directly above the bar. This meant we had the bar's piped music coming through the floor into the early hours on the Saturday night and we also had quite a lot of external noise from people in the front garden, despite the quality of the windows. I would recommend avoiding rooms above the bar at weekends unless you intend to be out until late. Breakfasts were very good quality although service could be stretched at busy times, one waiter is not enough for a whole dining room. We did not eat in despite the attractiveness of the menus, I felt rather sad that the restaurant was being underused after all the effort put into the food and wine being offered but we were usually out until after dinner. I would definitely want to eat in next time we visit. The overall impression was of a well executed green friendly hotel that manages to achieve a premium environment and avoid the corporate / sterile contemporary feel of many recently opened hotels. I chose this hotel on price and location not realizing it was an eco hotel. However everything about it was brilliant. The room was very comfortable with great towels and sheets etc. The restaurant was very good with local organic produce and good well priced wines etc. Everything was to a high standard. Fabulous hotel.5* - Food 3* just. The room was spacous and very comfortable. We were changed to a room with bath on arrival despite it been a midnight check in. - The bath was victorian and in the main room which was a pleasant quirck. Bed queen size. green factor obvious but still tasteful. staff excellent and helpful. Just breakfast weird. Fried egg […] etc oversalted by chef, and the scrambled egg liquidised like baby food. Exceptional hotel. Highly recommended. This should really be a 5 star hotel as the service all round was excellent. The only hotel we have ever stayed in that we would certainly revisit one day soon.

We stayed at the Green House in Bournemouth August Bank Holiday Weekend 27-30th- The room was beautiful and to a very high standard, good quality food for breakfast and very friendly staff. We would highly recommend this hotel and would go back there again.

Very nice and pleasant hotel; the whole environment is arty,cozy and warm. I especially loves its idea of being a 'Green' hotel. Everything inside the hotel are made of recycled or recyclable materials. And you should definitely try the bar and the restaurant. Very happy staying and will visit it again for sure.

This hotel was a revelation after other Bournemouth hotels we have stayed in. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, and the restaurant excellent. For the first time, we actually wanted to eat at a hotel, rather than trying good restaurants in the area. As a plus everything was green or environmentaly friendly - from the recycled wooden furniture, […] to the organice food and wine. The room was very high quality, and very comfortable. if your looking for a quiet and first class hotel close to bournemouth town centre and beach this hotel is excellent .Staff couldnt do enough as you came down to breakfast by the time you finished your room was cleaned, the room was very comfortable also the food was excellent will be returning again

No major complaints except the room/bathroom was a bit dark, and it could get a bit hot as no air-conditioning. Apart from that it was absolutely gorgeous, clean, lovely breakfast and the staff were very helpful. Highly recommended.

First impressions were excellent - it is clear a great deal of money has been spent on this place. But it was not just the immmaculate and contemporary public areas - our bedroom was perfect with high quality linen, flat screen TV, Bose ipod docking unit, aircon + a small but very good en suite with great shower. The staff were obviously well trained and our complimentary glass of Nyetimber champagne was a nice touch. The restaurant menu looked good but we were only offered two choices of sampler menu - at £25 and £45 per head - I guess my only criticism was the lack of choice on the menu - a steak would have been great, so we went out for dinner.... Vi var gjester på Green Hous i fire netter, og har bare godt å si om oppholdet vårt der. Ble godt tatt da vi kom og ble fulgt opp på rommet. Et rom som var nyrenovert. Lekkert bad. Gode senger. Veldig bra frokost med hyggelig personale som serverte. Hyggelig barområde der vi kunne sitte å slappe av. En av kveldene valgte vi å spise middag på hotellet. […] Nydelig mat, men det tok alt for lang tid fra vi bestilte til maten kom på bordet. Vi satt også veldig lenge i baren og ventet på å få bord, som var bestilt til klokka 20.45. Dette er det eneste negative vi har å si om hotellet. Beliggenheten var fin, med gangavstand både til sentrum i Bournemout og til stranda. Da vi hadde leiebil var vi avhengig av parkering, og det var det ingen problemer med.
