A nice hotel in a very central yet quiet location, convenient for shopping. Very nice staff. Good restaurants nearby (E.g. Fino).

Hotel was clean and had a big room, newly remodeled with coffee maker in room and great robes! Price was great too! The lusting noted DVD players. Had to get hotel engineer to help me as they are transitioning. The best part....uber green hotel and sooo recycling friendly.

Very comfortable rooms that were impeccably cleaned every day. Friendly service, especially from the bellhop. I appreciated the "green" touches. A quick walk to the Fairmont Hotel where I was attending a conference.

I really like how cozy this place was. It was very well kept with an excellent staff, from the doorman (who is so friendly) to their front desk. The only issue I had was their TV couldn't get constant reception on most channels. It was centrally located within walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown, Museum of Modern Art and the trolley stop right outside the hotel makes for a fun ride down to Fisherman's Wharf! We arrived in town around 10 am (earlier than I expected) and they were able to accommodate us and check us in early. Very nice overall.

The hotel is on Bush, if it were one block South, on Sutter, it would be slightly better, but overall it's in a good safe location (though as you wander towards the tenderloin it gets seedy). I switched rooms because mine faced an alleyway (same as the Marriot on Sutter) on a lower floor and was noisy during garbage pickup. Hotel Orchard was great location! The hotel was nice and quaint and perfect for my stay the front desk and valet were extremely nice and helpful i would defiantly come back for another stay :)

Very nice & helpful doorman. Very quiet hotel. Clean room, great location. TV was out one night. They gave us DVD's. which we did not need because San Francisco was so great. Parking was very expensive. Carpet okay. Very nice overall. I would recommend this hotel. Nice eating areas close by. Only 2 blocks from great shopping.

If you a desire a simple (no pool, limited work-out room) hotel, the Orchard is terrific. The staff is friendly, location great for walking to things around central SF and the rooms and bathrooms are nicely appointed. We stayed near the elevator and found the floor to be very quiet, even there.

I was happily surprised by this find. The room was clean and the best part is it was quiet! The door is super thick. Probably the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at, whatever they did as far as preventing sound from traveling from room to room they did a good job at. The Orchard Hotel was lovely. Small, Clean, Nice hotel centrally located a couple blocks from Union Sq. Right near the cable car to get to fishermans wharf and any other destination. Staff was super friendly. Would 100% recommend staying here.

Great location near Union Square with the tram passing close by. Staff were helpful and friendly. Didn't use any of the drinking or dining services but the beds were really comfortable.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have any sort of view but that didn't matter. The bath products were nice, and bathroom was really nice. My favorite thing was the robes.

The Hotel was clean and staff pretty friendly and helpful. Just takes a bit of time to get your car back from valet, that was the only set back but very nice hotel.

Concierge service was excellent and very helpful throughout our 2-day stay! Surprisingly quiet given its location. Very comfortable and spacious room. Great location near trolley stop and multiple restaurants nearby. Easy to walk to Ferry Building or Fisherman's Wharf if you are up for the hills!

A very nice boutique hotel with outstanding staff, good downtown location. Great for business, a 15 minute cab ride from the waterfront. If you can't take hills, SF is not the place to go walking; I walked one evening to Filmore St to the Sheba Cafe for jazz and Ethiopian food and got a pretty good aerobic workout (but the food and music made it worthwhile). […] Breakfast was good but not great; coffee was very good (always important for me), eggs and toast good, but bacon was overdone and fresh fruit was unripe. We were charmed by our stay at the Orchard Hotel and will definitely return as soon as we can and often. The room is large/the beds are plush/the pillows too/the staff was so much more than accommodating....they were knowledgeable, interested in how our days were going/ and went beyond the call of duty for several of our requests. We love the location of this gem of a hotel....it is only blocks from Union Square, from China Town and from great shopping....we walked absolutely everywhere....this hotel is central to everything and right on the trolley line. At first glance hotel appears a bit old. But after the first day of stay you change your mind. Big room and bathroom, clean, desk and all minor but neccessary things like iron, safe, desk make your stay comfortable. On top you have excellent location.

We visit SF regularly and this is the first time we have stayed at the Orchard. We were so impressed by the hotel that we will stay at the Orchard on future visits. This hotel was exceptionally priced and very convenient (2 blocks) from Union Square. Front desk staff were very helpful and always had good recommendations for local restaurants as well. I also appreciated the fact that they very green concious. Highly recommend for a nice stay in San Francisco.

I just loved the staff. Everyone was super helpful. The room was amazing! The view wasn't the greatest, but I didn't get the hotel for the view. The bed was comfortable and the furniture and overall feel of the room was very relaxing. I just LOVED it! Thank you!

What a refreshing change from other hotels! Small, classy, well-appointed, quiet and comfortable. Spent three nights and was greeted each and every day by friendly, professional staff who remembered my name. Breakfast room service took 10 minutes for a hot meal. Location perfect to Union Square. What a gem!

Great Hotel and location close to Union Square downtown San Francisco. Walking distance within a few blocks to excellent restaurants. This hotel had a great bed and was lovely-I would highly recommend it, particularly to business travelers due to its location.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location off Powell. Cable car stop right outside the hotel. Only issue we had was our shuttle service to the airport. We paid a deposit and apparently was suppose to get a slip and the person at the front desk didnt give us one. We ended up having to pay the shuttle company more when we arrived at the airport. I've stayed at this hotel five times before. We've always been treated well, but this stay has turned me off completely. I feel so awful that I was the one who suggested this hotel over other more economical and better located hotels. The room smelled moldy and felt damp. The bathtub didn't work and took a full day to repair. There seemed to be no […] interest from the front desk to relocate to another room, even though the hotel was less than full. Yes, this was a less expensive room, but I've certainly booked more expensive rooms with them. Often I book direct, perhaps they don't like guests who book through Expedia.
