If you are looking for a hotel with air conditioning this is not the hotel to stay in. It wasn't until we checked into our rooms (family of five who had booked two rooms# that we discovered the rooms were not air conditioned. Also our five year old daughter managed to lock herself in the bathroom and was locked in for nearly 45 minutes. It was only […] opened after the hotel's maintenance person was called back from his home #9.30 at night) to get to the hotel to open the door. This was after numerous attempts by ourselves and hotel staff to get the door open. The door lock wouldn't have jammed if routine mainentance was carried out. We were not impressed. Having said that, the room was well presented, the staff were friendly and the hotel restaurant was pleasant. We definitely would not stay there in summer unless they invested in air conditioning but would consider a winter stay as air conditioning wouldn't be required. Lisätietoja

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids and stayed at this hotel's 1 bedroom suite. The boys shared the sofabed. Suite comes with small pantry and washer. Lots of space in the loving room and large bathroom. If you can get a ground floor room that opens to the garden, you will enjoy the additional light and access to the garden. Service staff are all […] non-New Zealanders and rather young. They don't seem very experienced but they are all polite and tried to do a good job. So no complaint afterall. We enjoyed our stay and would return. The hotel was in good order, the staff excellent, and location ideal. The air con was not as cool as we would have liked in our room, but other than that a good hotel.

Overall quite a good hotel. Bed was relatively uncomfortable - too saggy. Hot tub advertised as such should be call 'warm tub' - not really hot enough. Internet did not work well.Staff very helpful and breakfast was excellent. Reasonably good value.

The venue was well appointed and staff very efficient, helpful and attentive. Room was very comfortable had a nice view. Food and Beverage facilities where also excellent.

We have stayed in 4 different hotels/motels in Queenstown and 5 in other areas. We stayed at this hotel in a "1 Bedroom Alpine Suite Lake View 1 King". Our favourite hotel-absolutely lovely in every way. A brilliant deal too. THE ROOM- The room & view was stunning. A lovely bedroom with double doors to the lounge. French doors overlooking the lake on […] the town centre side of the gardens. The bathroom was great with a huge shower! The kitchen had everything needed including a washer/drier! A flatscreen TV in the bedroom & a large one in the lounge. A round dining-table with 4 chairs in the lounge. It was perfect for us - gorgeous, clean, comfortable & a great view. THE HOTEL-it had a very welcoming atmosphere & we felt at home. The staff at the front desk can be highly commended - helpful, professional, approachable & friendly. We cannot praise them enough. The nice bar had a great view of the lake. The restaurant had the same great view. Make sure to order side dishes with a meal which whilst tasty, was quite small & costed as expected. Our deal included breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel parked our car & the service was very good & reasonably priced. LOCATION- one road back from the lake, up a short steep hill. It was steep & it was short but most definitely worth it - the best views are always from looking down. The hotel was only minutes away from the centre. Overall, a great find in a beautiful part of the world. The hotels is very high end and the rooms are fantastic. I asked for a balcony and it made my stay. I overlooked the lake and the mountains with a glass of NZ Pinot Noir...perfect!! Good location, close to town ...but far enough away to not hear the insanity. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we walked in the door we knew that we were going to have a great experience at this hotel. The service from the staff were exceptional, they were pleasant and extremely helpful in all ways. The hotel was beautifully presented, and we loved spending time around the fireplace in the evening. […] The room was immaculately clean and tidy and every need was met and all the furnishings, towels, linens etc were of a high quality. The view from the dining room was superb and a lovely way to start the day whilst having breakfast. The hotel was well positioned in respect to the township. Hotel staff were helpful. However, the hotel room assigned to us felt dated and rather dark. It didn't help that the beds were rather uncomfortable.

Great Boutique Hotel with the best staff one could ask for, and close proximity to all the happening things. Only drawback is the steep uphill one block walk to the hotel. Managable, but not for all. We would stay there again without a second thought.

The St Moritz has many positive features: cleanliness, location, amazing views from the room if you're luck enough to get a room thattakes advantage of it. As a woman who often travels on her own I am used to 'the single woman traveler treatment' and having to be assertive to receive service that couples receive. The St Moritz was no exception! Even […] though I had booked and pre-paid for a NINE night stay, when i arrived the female receptionist allocated me a room of the type I had requested (one king bedroom Alpine Suite LAKE view) but the room had a tiny tiny window! So When I went back to reception Iwas offered a room on a low floor with a bigger window but less view. After asking for an upper level room with a view one magically became available after a 20 minute wait!! While reception told me about the daily 30 minutes of free Wifi, I found out for myself on the website about the possibility of purchasing 7 days wifi for only $NZ110!! This would be the best hotel in Queenstown. The place was fantastically clean and tidy and the staff almost fell over themselves to make sure you had everything you needed to help you enjoy your stay at the hotel and in the town of Queenstown.

The St Moritz is in a great position. Close to the city centre, but not so close to be bothered by noise. It's really good exercise walking up the hill back to the Motel too! Good location, not so bad facilities but overly non-professional. It's almost like the staff is working on their own, no coordination, no anticipation but I must say they are nice and friendly and trying to do their best individually. But as a team it doesn't work. I felt like the hotel manager ran away and the staff were left to their own devices. OK […] here's what happened: we came early in the morning and check-in was at 2pm. We came back after skiing, very very tired only to find out that the room was not ready yet! They have provided complimentary drinks etc. which was nice but it was almost 6pm that we went in. After brief settling in and rest we wanted to have dinner at the restaurant and turned down because we didn't have reservation! Had to pack and go to town with a small kid all exhausted. They should have offered a table - or send to room. Lovely hotel in a great location, only a short walk to all the attractions that Queenstown has to offer. My son and I stayed in a one bedroom suite and the only issue for me was no window in the bathroom or the bedroom; which makes the suite dark and me a bit claustrophobic : )

This hotel was cheaper than a number of others in Queenstown which is why we booked it and we were impressed. The hotel looks wonderful and the facilities were great. It is really close (5 minute) walk to the city. There is a hill from the main road to the hotel as others have noted however it is not that bad.

Outstanding! Service was exceptional, everyone made you feel like it was a joy to have you stay. Views were breathtaking. Food was great and they created little value adds like an option to prepare a takeaway lunch etc. Rooms/suites were just lovely too especially the feather/down underlays on the beds, but to top it all off was the outdoor hot tubs. […] They were great to relax in after a busy day and gaze at the stars - again they thought of everything like providing extra towels outside in case you hadn't. Staff were polite and very helpful. Facilities were clean and well presented. Food (Room service, breakfast and lunch pack-up) was delicious. Resturant and bar had fantastic views. Overall, a fantastic place to stay.

We stayed in a suite the first three nights and then in a lake view king room the last - the suite was AMAZING! The view was stunning - from our balcony we ould see out to the remarkables and across the lake. The staff were on the whole very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious! Free range eggs and organic tomatoes! […] Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting queenstown! If travelling with kids though the king size room would feel a bit small. The location was fantastic but the best part was the view! Waking up every day with the sunrise just over the mountains and it almost felt like the clouds were going to come into your room! Amazing, comfy beds and very nice staff.

This hotel is well located being about 500 meters from the centre of town (This is a good thing because town is rather busy and can be noisy) It is up a very short steep hill which gives it an elevated position with beautiful views. Very nice hotel...I loved the hotel lobby and the rooms. We check in and the hotel gave us an upgrade to a garden view. It had a little grass area and walking distance to the hot tubs. Not much of a gym and the sauna did not work properly but just a very good location and cozy hotel. The other side that was not as great was the loud water running in […] the pips that you could hear all night long. The other downside was the internet was crazy expensive...$30 a day or timed for free in the lobby for 30min. But over all I would recommend the hotel and stay there again. Lisätietoja

When staying in Queenstown, you really want to be within walking distance of the dowtown area because there are so many good shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Finding quality accommodation in that area is not easy, but the St Moritz, in my opinion, offers a very good balance. It is now top of my list of places to stay in this city.

The room was gorgeous, the hotel staff were unfailingly friendly. We had excellent room service and the extra amenities like two guest laundries were just we needed at this point of our holiday. A wonderful place to stay, would be a good idea to request (or pay additionally for) a room with a view...it would be worth it. We didn't and it was the only downfall to a wonderful long weekend away!
