Tämä kahden tähden hotelli vastasi mielestäni kolmea tähteä Suomen arvosteluasteikon mukaan. Erittäin miellyttävä ja ystävällinen palvelu. Huone oli riittävän iso ja vaatteiden säilytystilat olivat asialliset. Sijainti lähellä rautatie- ja bussiasemia oli erinomainen.

Hotelli on lähellä kaikkia kauppat. Auton pysäköinti on helppoa. Itse hotelli on rakenettu 1700 luvulla ja historiallinen. Huonemme oli iso ja mukava. Ainoa puute oli pieni jääkaapi. Palvelu toimii. Ravintola ja ruokka on hyvä ja väki kohteliatta ja mukavia. Huulen heittoa toimii. Hissi ei ole mutta laukumme oli viettu huoneseen. Suositelemme.

Hotelli on erinomaisella paikalla korkealla kalliolla meren rannassa viehättävässä Shanklinin kylässä. Hotellista portaat suoraan alas rannalle, Shanklinin vanhan kylän puoli kivenheiton päässä. Merenpuoleisista huoneista on upea näköala. Hotellissa on mukiinmenevät sisä- ja ulkouima-altaat, poreallas ja minigolf sekä todella nätti puutarha, jossa kioskikahvio. Huoneet eivät ole mitenkään erityisen viihtyisät - kannattaa ehdottomasti ottaa näköalahuone tai premium näköalahuone, jos tässä hotellissa aikoo asua. Seinät ovat ohuet eli äänet kuuluvat hyvin huoneesta toiseen. Alempien kerrosten huoneisiin kuljetaan vähän kummallisesti ravintolasalin läpi. Hotellin englantilainen aamiainen keskitasoa.

Idyllinen pikkuhotelli, äärettömän ystävällistä henkilökuntaa. Auton sai hyvin parkkiin. Full English breakfast maittava; jos englantilaisista aamiaisista pitää. Arundelista hyvät yhteydet esim Brightoniin. Suosittelen.

The decor along the corridors is the worst I've seen - icy white weird textured white walls and floral 1970's carpet. Very strange combination - fire the decorator I say! The room was clean and comfortable though - with normal decor. It was quite a drive from the ferry port but taxi was prompt in arriving. When booking information was not made clear enough e.g On checking in I was asked to pay £6 for parking, I would have appreciated if this information was made available when I was booking. The ironing boards and irons were dirty

There was a very dirty roof in the bahtroom. A lot of yellow spots. The foul water in the bathroom didn´t fade away. The bathroom was so little that I couldn´t comb my hair without hurting my head and hands against the door post. Close to all amenities, check in/out efficient staff friendly and helpful.

I stayed a night here before getting a boat to Spain. The room was small but perfectly adequate and clean. The facilities downstairs are as you would expect from a quality hotel and the staff were very polite. I would stay again if in Portsmouth.

Nice spacious lobby and conveniently located, the room was unfortunately very small. The beds were by the door entrance and the bathroom is very small even for a small built person. The only savior is the "porthole looking" window in the bathroom which adds some authencity to its location in Portsmouth...if you do appreciate designs over bathroom comfort! I was very happy overall considering the price I paid. Yes it's a little small but I was by myself but I wasn't expecting the Ritz. Everything was clean and tidy. My only issue was not having any information on how to get the heating going but then again, my fault for not asking! Absolutely perfect location and an ideal base to explore the many local attractions. Staff extremely friendly and helpful and overall could not fault this hotel and will definately be returning.
Very handy for the ferry. You could have a really early breakfast if you wish. Room had everything we needed. Staff helpful. Secure car park.

Very convenient for Portsmouth's sights and the continental ferryport. Clean and functional, comfortable for a single night's stay. Rather a noisy air conditioning system in the bedroom and, while the quality of the food in the restaurant was very good the service was appalling, slow and slapdash. Apparently short-staffed in the kitchen so long wait […] inevitable BUT there were only 10 in restaurant when we arrived and only one couple came in after us. Got a pretty good price but even so rooms were very cramped and spartan. Less comfort than I would have expected from using IBIS hotels in Germany in the past... Reception staff pleasant but clearly understaffed in the restaraunt/ breakfast area. Service tere very poor and food offered also very poor and minimal. Would probably not recommend or use […] again but try my luck elsewhere. Ibis chain will also be further down my list now. Also irritating in this day and age that free WiFi is not available in all rooms. We paid for 24 hours but found the system very slow and unreliable with it constantly dropping out and help line call goes to India - pointless and no help. "Ibis hotel is as central as you can get"
You get what you pay for. Ibis offers a place to sleep, and has no intention to pretend to offer anything more. Ibis is located besides the university and is very easy to find. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the train and 10 minutes from Gunwharf quays. The hotel pretends to make a difference between a double room with 1 bed and a double room […] with 2 single beds. There is no difference, they just take the bed appart and it differs about an inch between the beds in the second option. Summary: a hotel for a weekend of shopping, or sightseeing. The room was really small. Meant to be a twin but the beds were touching with no room between. Not enough room to swing a mouse let alone a cat. Service around bar lacking at times. Good location

Budget hotel, but really well worth the money! The comfort of the rooms may be improved; the bed was really hard and the bathroom... well you better not try to be two people in there. However, it was clean and fresh and I've spent nights at hotels far worse than this, paying three times as much. As far as the location, it's close to the city centre, […] (as suggested) and with a walking distance of about 10-15 mins to Gunwharf. Breakfast buffet isn't great, and cost more than an english breakfast in one of the many pubs around. "ideal for the ferry"
We just wanted somewhere to stay for one night before catching an early morning ferry. This hotel is perfect for that - just 5 minutes from the docks - and the reception staff were very helpful in supplying a map. Parking was free - virtually unheard of at a city centre hotel - and although the secure hotel car park was full by the time we arrived (after […] 10pm) there is another car park just over the road that hotel guests can use. Be under no illusion - the room and bathroom was probably the smallest I have ever seen! But they are cleverly designed and everything you need is there. We (2 adults and a 5 year old) slept fine, and the pull out bed was made up ready for us (I have stayed at places where you are expected to do this yourself). Clean room, definitely 'no frills' but convenient for an overnight stop in town. 7 min walk to Gunwharf key for shops and restaurants.

It was an ok hotel overall, very nice reception, however the parking was insufficient, as we had to park off site and the hotel room and bathroom were both ridiculously small, not even worth the discounted price!!

This hotel is handy for an overnight stop before the ferries. Rooms are modern, well-equipped, comfortable and clean. It is however woefully understaffed. The staff themselves could not be more pleasant or accommodating but there was only the manager plus one to deal with reception, the bar and the restaurant. For a budget rated hotel we found the decor and ambience in excess of what we anticipated. In particular we found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Our only negative comments would be the size of the shower room which was minimal and could be a problem for the larger than normal person. Also for repeat visits we would require a room not overlooking […] the main road or the hotel entrance as the noise level from those leaving the local bars and clubs was intrusive. Hotel is in a great location near to Gun Wharf Quays. The staff were friendly and provided an excellent service. The only thing that went wrong for me was when I pulled back the bedsheet to find only a dirty matress protector. I called down to reception and someone arrived very quickly with 2 flat sheets for the bed. I have stayed in Ibis hotels before and had quite a good idea what to expect. The location is very central to the university and walking distance to Gunwharf Quays and Commercial Road. We stayed in the hotel during the warm weather after Easter and the room was quite hot - there isn't any air conditioning and the window only opens a couple of inches.
