I stay here about three times a year for about a week at a time. They are consistently good, although I did have three problems on my most recent visit. 1. Saw roach crawling on hotel room door. 2. Had not hot water in the shower two out of the seven days I stayed there. 3. Internet service was terrible this time. Slow and kept having to reconnect about […] every hour. Also, laundry service is prohibitively expensive. For example, if you want a pair of pants washed and pressed, it's about USD $6.00 per pair. I always have a pleasant experience at this hotel. I never have problems with the booking or with the rooms. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are clean and internet connection is included in the rooms. I am never disappointed when I stay here and I will always keep coming back. It wasa pleasant stay though it could have been better had they given complimentary wi-fi for the guest and maybe complimentary b-fast as well.

actually, the hotel is not brand new so facilities are not that nice though, the staffs and service were very very nice. I had a meal at the marco restaurant, but there was a small insect. They served new one of course. The manager and chief came to me and apologized sincerely. I am quite impressed about the staffs.

Excellent choice when in Davao. Rooms are comfortable and "western" style. Lobby Lounge is a pleasant place to have short meetings or unwind with a date. Modern gym and pool.

I found the general experience inside the hotel quiet pleasing. Many of the restaurants were a little pricey, relative to Philippino standards. But I experienced 2 of these and the food has been superb. The area is close to some of the malls making the shopping for your partner very easy. The city itself does not have a great deal of things for tourists […] but I visited a Crocodile park, Jack Ridge - a restaurant with a view up in the mountains. Davao is not Vegas, their are very few fine hotels. For the money The Marco Polo is a great value. 4 star very good service, nice staff, and the rooms are nice, old but nice. great gym, pool etc....

It was our second visit to this hotel and some staff recognised us from before and gave us warm welcome back greetings. Always a comfortable stay at this hotel and the service is top notch. Nothing much to really complain about but only praises. Keep up the good work!

Very personal and good service during the stay with a professional and warm staff. The hotel was in a convenient location that was in the heart of the city. The only let down was they allowed rowdy kids into the Continental Club, which turned it into quite a circus!

They were doing maintenence in the room next to mine all during my stay. I was working the overnight shift so needed to sleep during the day. Needless to say, I didn't get to sleep very well.

The room and laundry service was very good. The hotel was very clean. The people were generally friendy. The ambiance of the pool area was very nice especially at night. This is my 3rd stay at Marco Polo. I was assigned to the new refurbished 8th floor. Very nice outfits and I'd say they can claim now to be a 5 star hotel. Staff as usual are most helpful. The pool and outdoor bar look stunning at night.

The hotel and staff were excellent. The buffet was quite good, but one does get tired of bufrfets, since we were actually on a 5 week journey. The restaurant at the pool was excellent. Good choices, great presentation. Just an superb job by all the staff at that restaurnat.

great hotel for relaxation , buffet foods were excellent and samal hotel room feels like home. we enjoyed feeding the coral fish from our balcony as the water was so clear. the hotel staff were very accommodating to our needs and request. overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

nice staff & services! I brought my notebooks & tablet and they provided me with two wifi access. I believe the location is also okay as it will not spend you much for taxi to anywhere.

Our second stay at the Marco Polo. So obviously we liked it enough to return. Quite a central location. Helpful staff. Some construction/repair work going on both times. I'm glad we paid our full room rate (including breakfast and internet) with Expedia ahead of time. HUGE taxes on all other purchases and services: for example, our shuttle to the airport […] was 150 pesos, but 244 after taxes! About 60%? Similar taxes on bar purchases and at the (very good) spa. Good location,go to afats to eat. Don't eat at the hotel ,or use the mini bar unless you want to be charged all kind of fees. Pool and workout room is nice.

Excellent Hotel but some staff are average. Davao taxi drivers are bad, always try to over charge and will not use meters.

this is a great luxury hotel with fine linens, great staff, and an amazing view. Breakfast is a large buffet to please any pallet!

Checked in late but rooms were still not available. Made reservations on-line. Had confirmation no available but still requested for copy. Refused to provide complimenary wi-fi access to print. Terrific service. Arrived earlier than usual, and staff graciously accommodated me in spite of my very early arrival. Received a fabulous Christmas gift basket from the manager on Christmas eve....basket contained shiraz wine, fruit cake, cheese, etc. What a pleasant surprise!

This is the nicest place to stay in Davao. It's very secure with armed guards. It's luxurious. The location is excellent - short cab ride to the malls; within walking distance to the bars and restaurants on Torres St. It accepts US style electric plugs so need need to bring an adaptor. I just stayed at the Marco Polo from Nov 24 - 27, 2011. Great location. Very central to everything. The Gaisiano Mall is a 15 minute walk away. The Abreeza is a 30 minute walk away. The hotel buffet breakfast has a great selection. The service overall is 5 star. I was able to check in early and check out late because of my flight timings. If you join […] their loyalty program, the wireless internet is free. The pool area is phenominal. Make sure to spend some time lounging by the pool. The gym is also well equipped. Many banks are located within walking distance including HSBC and Citi as well as many other Filipino national banks. I can't wait to go back again. I was very, very impressed with this hotel. I am temporarily living in Manila and it was certainly nice to stay in Davao at the Marco Polo away from all the hustle bustle of Manila. Excellent Hotel to stay at if you don't mind paying alittle extra. Manager told me "free wifi" to start early next year. Amazing breakfast buffet. Fresh sashimi tuna melted in your mouth. Great location, excellent view, service was personal first class and faultless. Only small issue there was a strange odour in lobby restroom area I think due to plumbing.

In my room the tolit ran every 20 minuets, this was reported on my second day but no one came to fix it. There was some mole on the ceiling in the bathroom and the hall was smelled on mole.
