Nice enough room - unremarkable except for the pretty extensive & well stocked continental breakfast. A cut above, in my opinion.

Everything was nice except the bed was hard; the hotel tried to soften the matress with a padded matress cover but it didn't work. The sheet on the bed did not go to the bottom of the matress, was about 2+ feet short, a bit unusual. Very nice people, lovely atmosphere, very clean. The location was close to our destination. Breakfast was adequate.

The hotel is priced just a little higher than it should be, the recent renovations brought it up to a hotel showing its age. Thankfully our stay was not in the heat and humidity of peak summer, our air conditioner did not work properly. The only thing I would change is an additional waffle maker.

It was okay, quit at night and that is a plus for me. The hottub didn't work, and the door handle came off in my hand, and never did get fixed. The T.V. keep blacking out for no reason, but always came right back on. I told them about it, and it didn't get fixed. It was okay, not the best or the worset i have stayed at.

The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The 2 teenagers accompanying me loved the fresh-baked cookies and hot chocolate available in the afternoons/evenings. Would definitely stay there again.

While this hotel is not within walking distance of the historic district, it is about as close as you will get unless you stay in one of the expensive Colonial Williamsburg hotels. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast provides a range of foods (waffle, toast, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, biscuit and gravy) in small breakfast area. […] If a tour group is eating at the same time as you, you'll probably need to take food back to your room. The staff was helpful and friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub were a nice benefit at the end of a day of walking. The only negative was the fitness room. Hotel under renovations. Brought our discomfort to the noise to the manager. Manager seemed very smart. Gave us option to move to another much more expensive sister hotel. We opted for a comp to a free return trip. Manager and staff very customer oriented. Free breakfast has many many more choices than advertised. Couple of Hot entries that change every […] day. The hotel was under renovation during our stay but it didn't really impact the comfort of the hotel. Overall we were pleased and would stay there again.

Renovation work on the second floor created a dust condition throughout the building. On a previous stay everything was great-this time not so much.

For the most part our stay was a good one. The breakfast was not as good as it was advertised.....not sure if the eggs were even real. Another strange thing was there were NO clocks in our room...kind of strange. There was also a lot of street/ parking lot noise from our room. The bathroom was a bit small as well. Very average hotel stay. The mattress was TERRIBLE, but the room was clean enough for me to sleep on the floor with no worries. TV was actually too big for the room, but A for effort.

This is a really nice hotel. It has that country feel to it with a good hot breakfast. Also, the extra door to the bedroom provides good soundproofing. And they have good tvs.

Staff was very nice and attentive. Great breakfast bar and awesome rooms. The lobby was very inviting upon arrival and the convience to everything for tourists was excellent. Overall A+

Comfy beds but holes in sheets. Nice pool and fitness center. Breakfast: white bread, white bagels, fried thing and white gravy, no eggs, no whole grain.

Great hotel, felt very safe there as single woman. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Carpet seems new as well as bedding, but furniture seems from 80s and whole bathroom and linens could use updating as well.

I just arrived from the St. Augustine location and this location was just as good as the previous. Amazing service, amazing complimentary breakfast, amazing rooms, amazing facility to work out, amazing business center. Very satisfied.

We are a family of five. Two adults and 3 children 5 and unde. The regular bedroom was to small for us. I would recommend the suite. The hotel was dated but clean. The staff was nice and helpful. The pool was nice, warm and clean. The surrounding area was close but not walking distance.

The hotel was very close to Colonial Williamsburg and a great deal! We stayed one night at a great rate and would stay here again.

Good breakfast just get there early or go late as there is limited seating. This hotel has seen a lot of traffic but is still in okay shape but will need a good renovation or cleaning in coming years. Reasonably close to Colonial Williamsburg.

This is a first class hotel and should not be over looked by anyone. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The full breakfast has a good selection and fresh.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Super location and very clean. A good breakfast also. I recommend it very highly.

We had a double-queen suite and the room had a living room, with a fridge and microwave. The windows opened, so, we even had fresh air! We have stayed 2 years in a row, and both times, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Country Inn is a basic nice hotel. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and there is a pool. The negatives are the breakfast area was always really crowded and I waited for almost 20 minutes to make a waffle. The only other bad thing is there is no room service or restaurante in the hotel. on this vacation we stayed in country inn & suites 4 out of 6 hotels & williamsburg was the worst one. we had no hot water on the 1st morning som we learned to take our baths in the evenings. we had no washcloths so had to use handtowels which wasnt right. the front office did give me 3 but that evening I told them they didnt have 2 clean our room just […] take out the trash & please leave us some wash cloths. they left one. their was 3 in our party. I felt this was so ridiculous. all they could tell me was that people kept taking them, Ive never been in a hotel where I cant get a washcloth. it was crazy such a small thing. The locations to some of the major attractions is perfect and the beds in the hotel is comfortable. It took me 28 hours to get the clog in our sink cleared up, and the older gentleman in the front desk told me that they have no microwave for the customers to use unless they pay for an upgrade. The hotel ammenities shows clearly that they have a microwave […] but the gentleman refuse to let me use it for some unknown reason. I have some foods inside the refrigerator of our room that I have to throw away because I cannot heat it up. The owner is very appologetic for my inconveniences and promise to do something about the situation in the future. The breakfast ladies are very nice especially the old african american lady. I think their room is a bit pricey considering there really is not much different than some of the hotels that I've been in but this is probably because of the time that I was there. If you're looking for a clean room, comfortable beds, and a nice breakfast then this is the place for you... I have only stayed in this hotel because of the excellent review they receive for customer sattisfaction. I am a bit dissapointed for my stay and with that older gentleman for not treating me as a regular customer in that hotel...I found out later on that they do have a microwave not in plain sight that he could have me use but for some reason he didn't eventhough I was asking him repeatedly if there is anyway I can heat up our left over food..My sink is clogged up from the moment we arrived at night time and didn't get fix until the following night because the morning desk clerk forgot to tell the handyman eventhough I spoke to her twice.... In the Williamsburg area, there are numerous hotel choices for people with all different types of budgets. If you are looking at a moderately priced hotel, then the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson on Bypass Road is an excellent choice. It is located only about 5 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg and about 10 minutes from the main attractions of Busch […] Gardens and Water Country USA. To reach the local Newport News/Williamsburg airport, it's a 30 minute drive. The staff is extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. The breakfast they give as part of your room rate is pretty good, including both hot and cold choices. It feels almost like a large bed and breakfast. The rooms are extremely clean and the bed is quite comfortable. The main lobby of the hotel is very inviting and even has a small library of books to take to read if you'd like. After a long day of doing touristy activities, there are even fresh baked Sugar, Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal cookies waiting for you at the front desk. My family was quite satisfied with our stay at this hotel. The staff was pleasant. Breakfast was crowded, but the food was quickly replenished when needed. The pool was clean. This hotel worked well for my family. Its location is great for most area attractions, and it is surrounded by other hotels and places to dine, as well as a convenience store. The breakfast attendant also didn't have a firm grasp of English, but things worked out okay. I would stay here over many of the "historic" places to stay in Williamsburg.

The hotel is located close to the historical district and the water park, but it is in a very quiet neighborhood. Staff was very courteous.

1st. time staying there. rooms were clean and nice. the service was great, expecially the people, who were extremely nice. will definetly be coming back.
