Hotelli oli helppo löytää ja katettu ilmainen parkkipaikka oli hyvä. Bank Atlantic Center ja Sawgrass Mills kävelymatkan päässä.Todella siisti hotelli ja tilava huone. Varusteena mikroaaltouuni oli positiivinen yllätys. Sisääntulon yhteydessä sai ilmaiset suklaacookiet! :) Viivyimme hotellissa vain yhden yön, joten emme ehtineet hyödyntää kaikkia hotellin mahdollisuuksia, esim allasosastoa ja fitness centeriä.

Olimme hotellin asiakkaina maaliskuussa 2012 1,5 viikkoa. Hotellissa tehtiin tuolloin pientä pintaremonttia, joka ei kuitenkaan haitannut asumistamme ollenkaan. Lastenallas ja tenniskenttä olivat pois käytöstä, ovia ja ulkoalueita maalattiin, eivät haitanneet menoa. Aamupala sisältyi hotellin hintaan ja aamiaisaika oli 8-11, joskus ovet avattiin myöhemmin (eräänä aamuna 9.05), mutta aamupala oli runsas ja syötävää. Huone oli siisti, joka päivä huone oli päiväsaikaan siivottu. Parveketta huoneessamme ei ollut, en tiedä oliko oikeastaan kenelläkään joilla oli merinäköala huoneesta? Yhtenä iltana pikkukeittiömme lattialla oli 3 torakkaa, muuten saimme olla rauhassa ötököiltä. Hissejä oli kolme (hotellissa oli yli 10 kerrosta) ja hissit olivat kovassa käytössä, ja siksipä ehkä melko hitaat. Allasalue oli siisti (paitsi yhtenä päivänä kun pari poikaa kantoi aamupalansa altaalle eivätkä korjanneet roskiaan pois...) Allasalueelta pääsi rannalle, mutta portti oli lukossa ja takaisin hotellialueelle pääsy oli siitä kiinni oliko allasalueella joku ystävällinen joka avasi portin. Allasalueella oli myös baari, josta sai juotavaa ja pientä purtavaakin päivisin. Hotellin alakerrassa oli pari pikkukauppaa, ja hinnat tietysti sen mukaiset. Seuraavaksi lähimpiin kauppoihin oli jonkin verran kävelymatkaa, bussilla tosin pääsi helposti ja halvalla mm. South Beachille ja toiseen suuntaan ostarille (Aventura Mall) ja halvempiin päivittäistavarakauppoihin. Alueella on paljon espanjankielisiä, mutta pärjäsimme myös englannin kielellä. Hotellissa oli ympärivuorokautinen vartijapäivystys. Auton sai vuokrattua hotellilla sijaitsevasta autonvuokraamosta. Ajo Miamissa oli melko vauhdikkaan näköistä, joten me tyydyimme ajelemaan bussilla edestakaisin :) Alakerrasta löytyi tourist-info, joka järjesti asiakkaita erilaisille retkille, halvemmalla kuin varsinaiset tour-paikat. At first impression, this hotel may not seem at all so cozy to begin with and not to mention the condition of the hotel itself looks as if its been there for years and it has just been maintained throughout all these years that this hotel has actually stood erect. The external conditions may seem a bit unsafe and the lobby not so great, but there are […] quite a few attraction about this hotel that proves that this hotel was actually "The Spot" to be at. Their floors are marble that are of course weathered and their bathroom counters are marble as well, which might I add looks in great condition. The staff is definitely a plus and so is their service. I had a problem with their a/c not blowing cool air and as soon as I reported it, I was already being moved from one room to another to accommodate my stay. The cleanliness is great and so is the comfort of the room. Again, don't judge a book by its cover because looks can surely be deceiving. There is absolutely nothing GOLDEN or BOUTIQUE about this place. Where do I begin with this horrible getaway?...and I mean GETAWAY from this hotel! Day one before I even check in I find out that a friend without a reservation found the exact same place for a fraction of what I booked it weeks in advance(whats the point of booking a room ahead of time […] if you can just show up and get it cheaper the day of?) ...then the guy at the counter was irritated didn't want to help me at all, I thought,ok no biggie, he is having a bad day, as long as the room is comfortable, I wont think much about it. The room was a fairly decent size, but the balcony was a joke. I called for and iron, it took them an entire day to bring it to the room. The room was never cleaned or made up during the entire stay. Towels would be picked up but not replaced, toilet paper... always had to call for more. Continental breakfast, worst in the entire north American continent. They just have bagels and cereal, thats it. I'm not kidding. I would even hear the other people staying there complain about this as well. Internet access, only in the lobby area, this makes no sense to me whatsoever. Parking they have plenty of unpaved space across the street but make sure not to leave any valuables in your car that are visible, the neighborhood is pretty bad. The elevator has a mind of its own.going down? Try going up first then going down! The entire staff hate their job, just two girls working the front desk in the afternoon shift helped me with an important email I had to print out, everyone else needs an attitude adjustment. As with every hotel I have stayed in, I call to see when check out time is, (11 am at the Golden Joke of a Boutique) I then asked if it would be possible for a late check out and they acted as if they had never heard of such a thing. I already knew the location was not ideal - so I won't address that - but I thought there would be at least enough parking for everyone. Instead, there's a scary, unsecure lot across the street for "additional" parking. The continental breakfast was disgusting - I was better off eating from the 7-Eleven next door. The hotel isn't too bad but it is a little out dated. The beds are swayed in and aren't the most comfortable. Don't expect breakfast to be any good just because it's free. You will get bagels, pastries from hostess and orange juice. There is only one toaster so have fun standing in line. Approaching this hotel one finds oneself close to the interstate, but not in the best of neighborhoods and the outside of the hotel fits right in to the neighborhood. "Worse than a motel!"
Absolute bare mimimum. I had a queen size bed in a room fit for 2 queens, and the furniture was all out of place. No telephone, no iron or ironing board. Remote control for TV did not work. No tissues. A/C dial was broken and loud. Rust stains in the bottom of the toilet. The entire hotel felt old, outdated, and had no style. In the lobby, all the coaches […] were pushed to the outside. This hotel has obviously lost its franchise flag for lack of maintenance. The area is very HIGH CRIME in fact the local police have an office in the lobby. The AC and television did not work adequately. The elevators were loud and the carpet in the hallways had large pieces missing. The staff were not friendly. "Holiday Golden Gales - Recommend It But Barely"
This is a bare minimum hotel...let's start with the good. The room was clean, sheets, towels,etc. As a single woman traveling alone I felt safe once I got inside. Quiet. Now the rest...poor breakfast...really poor they should not even advertise it...pool...wouldn't bathe a dog in it. The elevators didn't work, a constant problem with this place according […] to other reviews..fix it for heaven's sake! It rained hard one night of my stay...the parking lot flooded so bad I couldn't get to my car...UNACCEPTABLE! fix the parking lot. I recommend this hotel but only for the budget minded, short stay traveler...personally I should have just spent the extra 20 bucks per night and stayed at another hotel. We got to the area and said "surely this can't be it." But it was. Still have no idea why they used the term "boutique" since there was absolutely nothing boutique-y about it. Mucho tacky, maybe. Of the 2 lifts one was not working , neither was the ice maker .. Breakfast was complimentary but is awful , better head out to Baskin Robins .. Overall would'nt say our stay was really bad but neither it is great but then we came to room only to sleep .. Locality is good very near to all the highways , it's like a 20 min drive to miami beach ... And […] yes lastly forgot to mention , our tv remote was missing , when we called the reception they sent a guy with like 20 remotes.. "Old hotel, clean room"
The check in staff is not very friendly and rather unprofessional. This is an old Holiday Inn which has never been renovated. Still has yellow hallways and old, worn carpet. Don't be fooled with the nice new elevator--only one of which works. The pool has been broken and apparently closed for a while. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and there […] was more than enough room for 2 people. Desk chair was broken and almost fell backwards the first time I sat on it. The bathroom had a new counter, but that was it. Toilet and shower were very old, but clean. Maids did a wonderful job everyday. The neighborhood is certainly a little sketchy--it is surrounded by gas stations and adult stores--which always had a flurry of police activity. At night, there are usually some strangers walking around the parking lot. I always parked my car where I could see it from my room. The location is very close to 95 and also the bridge to South Beach and Miami. The only sign on the building that says HOTEL can be seen only from 95 but was never lit up so it is hard to find. FYI if you are coming from FLL area, turn where the sign says "2nd Ave." Breakfast was the same every morning--bagels, boxed type pastries, 2 cereals, milk, OJ, coffee, tea. If you are just looking for a decent bed and clean shower, this place is fine. It is a Days Inn quality hotel and bring your own shampoo etc. Their "ocean mist" brand looked terrible. the property was in the right location easy to find and close to the beach and i-95 , however all the ice machines are broken or missing on all 7 floors. there are 3 all night gas stations / 7-11 / valaro/ hess to buy ice at. they surround the hotel property. overall for the cheap price and location i'll put this hotel in my favorite list for future […] stays. Location was very good right off interstate! neighborhood isnt that great police officer on duty in parkinglot. Great right in the middle of Miami and lauderdale! Room was ok a step up from a super 8 motel 6... Worth the money
