the desk clerk got us a room close to the elavator and a shuttle to the hospital for 5:30 A.M.. that is the best service I've ever had. Thanks

If you stay here request the main tower building. We stayed in one of the older buildings. Outside entrance, old, dirty carpet inside. No couch, just a chair and a half to watch an old TV from. Nice full kitchen, separate bedroom but no tv in bedroom. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was good: waffles, sausages, scrambled eggs, cereal, juices. […] Room was iffy but the price was right. Nothing walking distance from hotel. We got put in an extended stay suite. Very old!! The heat didn't work properly. Could not get it below eighty degrees. We had to sleep on top of the sheets because of the heat (middle of December in Minnesota). Our son asked if he could sleep in the car instead of the room. Would not reccomend this room to anyone.

Could hear the person coughing in the room next door paper thin walls restaurant food too specialized and expensive handicapped room with king size bed too crowded in bed area for a handicapped person

We reserved a "suite" that said it would have a double bed and sofa. It ended up being a twin bed and pull out chair. It did have a kitchen, but the entire room was the size of a closet. It is close to Mayo, and the hotel itself is nice, just not what we were expecting.

Bad stuff: Rooms in urgent need for major updating (musty smell, old yellowed window curtains, etc), cleanliness also not at the expected level. Basic limited american breakfast. Good stuff: decent size indoor pool, nice and working sauna for 6-8 people, both open till 2300, wireless access included (although disconnecting frequently, necessitating […] phone calls to technical support - twice during 6 days in my case). This hotel has many satellite buildings in which the rooms have not been upgraded but appear to be on their website. The rooms in the Towers are far more expensive. When I made my reservation I requested a room in the Tower but was given a room in a satellite building which was not upgraded. The room in the satellite building had an open window -- […] when I called the office to have the window locked, the young man indicated that it could NOT be locked even though it was only 5 or 6 feet from the ground. I insisted on having it locked and he finally found a way to lock it. Another time in early August, the electricity went out for 45 minutes between about 7:30 and 8:15 AM. I was taking a shower! I was on the 4th floor and cannot take the steps. NO one make any effort whatsoever to tell us what the problem was or to provide any help to get to the ground floor or to carry luggage. Was told on arrival that my reservation (while I was having tests at Mayo Clinic) was in one of the outbuildings--not the refurbished Tower, the main building. The clerk honored my request as stated in the reservation and gave me a room in the Tower building. However, subsequently, I was told that there is a considerable price difference between the […] Tower and the outbuilding and that the CLERK who checked me in (Eric, I believe) made a MISTAKE and he had to pay the difference himself!!! I'm not sure that is true, but the policy and advertising definitley needs some clarification. Management needs an upgrade! I woould not recommend this hotel until some changes are made. Lisätietoja

Rooms were old and dated. We were in a building not in the main hotel. Had reservations for 2 rooms and they were in different buildings. They could not accomodate us in the same building. Wasn't told about breakfast. The room felt dirty. The soap was wet. Very disappointed.

I have been travelling for 4 weeks in Indochina before coming to Rochester. During the trip I had been in 5 and 4 star hotels. Obviously most of them have been more expensive and consequently larger and "better" than the Hotel at Soldier's Field which I knew form 2 previous experiences. I like to walk down to the clinic, except in deep winter ( the […] hotel is not connected to the skywalk or the underground corridors). Having said that: The hotel has an excellent and very convenient free of charge shuttle service to almost any place within the city and the airport and the people running it really go out of their way to accomodate their guests. The hotel is a decent place, but could use some major upgrades. The buildings are clearly former apartments, and I wouldn't be surprised if they still have the same furniture. The room had a nice layout and was spacious, but could use some major updating. Also, they decided to close the pool for a week on the last day we were there... it would have […] been nice to have some notice. The staff was very courteous and the breakfast was good. I just wish I had known that there were different buildings so I could have requested to be in the main one ahead of time. Also, it's a little off the beaten path of downtown activities. Good value & clean hotel with adequate kitchen facilities. Good service. Excellent location - very near Mayo. Excellent for extended stays. Very good shuttle service.

We checked in to a very dirty room. Complained and were sent to another room which was no better. The carpet was wet and dirty. The shower stall walls were covered with a slime of dirt. You could not even sit in the chairs because they were also wet and dirty. The air conditioner did not work totally the room was very warm. The pictures on the site […] do not even come close to what the hotel is like. The breakfast was also cold. Not at all worth the price. Lisätietoja
