The hotel room we booked was nice, parking was perfect and the spa services were top notch! Love love love the spa, one of the best I have been to.

Overall we had a great stay. The hotel is very nice, spacious, feels new, and was staffed with great staff who was accommodating. The spa was overpriced so we avoided it. The restaurant was very good and our waiter was great. There is a shuttle service which is super convenient and took us to dinner on a moment's notice one night. We stayed in a cottage. Very nice accomodations, with private patio where we had breakfast. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and professional and their complimentary shuttle service to anywhere on the Square was very welcome on New Year's Eve. the Raindance Spa is great!

Once inside the hotel it's a great environment. However, the hotel's location, right on a busy highway and next to a PG&E plant does not warrant it's price.

Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out! We upgraded to one of the cottages and it was such a great idea! They offer a complimentary shuttle to downtown Sonoma and it was always ready for us...Complimentary wine tasting at the neighboring tasting room was also a pleasant surprise. The Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma Resort and Spa was truly a pleasant retreat. It met all of our expectations and is a must when looking for somewhere to stay in Sonoma.

I would highly recommend the Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma Resort and Spa. I just spent a long weekend there with 5 girlfriends to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We had two cottage rooms. They were both on the ground floor on the side of the resort away from the parking lot. We had plenty of space to hang out in the rooms and two patio areas with outside […] seating. The resort was very quiet and relaxing. It never felt crowded even though it was a holiday weekend and there was a wedding at the hotel. The pool area was so pleasant, perfect for chilling out after touring the wineries. The hotel is close to the quaint downtown area of Sonoma. We drove both days to wineries in Napa. The drive took about 30 minutes, but it was really scenic. Not a problem at all. I am already looking forward to staying here with my husband. I wouldn't think of staying any where else. Lisätietoja

Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. I would recommend staying in one of the cottages as they all have a fireplace which is great in the cold evenings and the pool is fabulous in the days when you return from a day of wine tasting. AMAZING! Honestly, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Location perfect, staff wonderful, friendly and helpful, room luxurious! Really, really enjoyed our stay here and will defo recommend to anyone!

My wife and I have stayed at the Lodge three times, all different seasons. So it has established itself as a "go to" choice -- in context of other options. There are few large spa hotels in city of Sonoma itself. Of these, the Lodge is uually more reasonable, if you can find a room at a "special" rate, which you often can. The Mission Inn is more upscale […] and generally more expensive. Better amenities and quieter location, but some of the rooms there are small. I believe all the rooms at the Lodge are spacious. The MacArthur is nice and more historical, but usually costs quite a bit more. The MacArthur is renowned for top service. We've found the service at the Lodge to be very good, but have never asked to have problem resolved or for anything above-and-beyond. The location is very close (a long walk, if you're inclined) to Sonoma Square, but is on a busy and fairly non-descript road. I thought it would be a luxury 4 star hotel but instead (despite the high price) we had a large, nice but not too different than a usual hotel room (except for gas fireplace). in a building (?Broadway) away from the main building. For the price paid, it wasn't worth it.

Stayed in one of the cottages. Well appointed and quiet. Walking distance to downtown for those who like a mile or so walk. Excellent service and cleanliness. Nice workout facility at no additional charge. Wife took in the spa which she enjoyed but was a bit pricey. Would definitiely stay again.

My wife and I stayed a single night, our last on our trip through wine country. After the one night, we wish we would have stayed longer in Sonoma and at this particular hotel. There was a complimentary wine tasting offered at a tasting room next door, and it didn't disappoint. Finally, my wife and I were searching for a Thai restaurant in the area. […] The front desk staff provided us an excellent and enthusiastic recommendation, and made the experience that much more personal. The hotel staff is rude, room service never got a single order right and were awful about correcting the situation. The rooms were wet and flooded, the staff did nothing to change this, ruined my luggage and pair of pants, they could've cared less. The roof leaked onto my sons bed, rather than moving him, they did a quick repair which caused it to leak […] elsewhere in the room, AWFUL! Lisätietoja

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the hotel. We loved that there was a shuttle to take us downtown for dinner. The beds were very comfortable and I slept so good. The people above my room were a bit noisy. I did not complain as I was too tired. BUT, the next morning, I mentioned it while checking out. The hotel's front desk stated that I should have told them (they were right) as they would have taken care of the problem. Noisy room;inept staff. Avoid room 20A! A night from hell. Walls are paper thin. Room next door is empty but the heater/fan cycle on and off every 6 seconds. The beds in our room are right next to the wall and the overhead heater channels the noise so you think you are sleeping in the boiler room. We call the staff but they can't help because the "room […] next door is occupied." 11PM we can't take it and ask to change rooms. What do they offer? The room next door with the broken heater! Staff person and I go over and shut off the furnace. "These have problems if the sensor is broken." Problem solved? Well no. 1AM someone checks into the room and an hour later figure out the heater is off. They turn it on so all night long it cycles on and off. They leave at 6AM but leave the heater on. Spoke with manager in AM who informs me that since we booked via http://Hotels.com nothing they can do. My advice is find another hotel. Lisätietoja

We like to stay at Renaissance hotels for the restaurants and service, and this did not disappoint. The restaurant food and service was great. Delicious breakfast. Free wine tasting along with a wonderful dinner at night. We did eat at other restaurants in Sonoma (which we used the hotel free shuttle to and from), but enjoyed our meals more at the hotel! […] The spa, the pools, and the outdoor fire-pit seating areas were all super. At the end of our trip, Matt from the front desk actually helped us box and secure our wine purchases in order to take home. Not one drop was spilled! I loved this hotel. Great rooms, gorgeous lobby, and beautiful landscaping. The pool was awesome but would have been better with no kids :). The restaurant was good...but not to die for. I would definately go back to this hotel, especially if they had some special promo or something as it's pretty pricey.

Overall I think it was a very nice place. Room was large and very comfortable, Fireplace and bathtub were great, Plantation shutters open bathroom to bedroom. Only drawbacks were noisey fridge, room was in adjacent wing away from main lodge and the nice deck had a view of a PG&E yard. Also internet access was advertised, but at a 12.50 charge. The hotel does not have any of the normal extras you expect in a four star hotel, such as no free coffee in the lobby in the morning, no free internet access in the rooms. Also the window in our room was very dirty and grimy, greatly reducing the enjoyment of the limited view. It is really not very close to center of downtown Sonoma and in a commercial […] area. I was going to a wedding at the Sonoma Mission Inn and didn't want to stay there given the room price and very small rooms they have. I knew nothing about the Renaissance Lodge but it was in the right location and right price range. It was an extremely pleasant room. Fireplace, great bed, could hear the outside fountains through the french doors all […] night. Very pleasant. Only downsize - the 4:00 check in. I called 24 hours in advance to note that I needed to be at a wedding at 4:30 and asked to be allowed to check in at 3:00 pm. I called at 20 till 3:00 and was told maybe it would be ready by 3:30. Obviously this was really pushing it. They handled it as well as they could, but it would have been a lot better if they would have said - sure, check in at 2:00. We made the wedding with 3 minutes to spare. Other than that - really nice place. Much nicer than you would think from the price and the pictures. Lisätietoja
