Mandalay Bay Resort And Casino - Las Vegas

It's a bit far away from the meat of Vegas. We got a $65 credit for food/bev just for using Hotels.com-awesome!

Fairly nice hotel. Quiet part of strip. Beach area way to crowded...must be there right at 9 am to get any realestate! (beach chairs!!). Stayed 3 nites at Luxor on same trip and liked this hotel much better.

Good size rooms with a separate shower and tub. Elevators were slow but that is to be expected with a hotel this size. "Resort" fee of $25 plus tax (total $28) is a negative but most hotels on the strip now charge this resort fee. Sandy beach/pool area was nice but had too many "lifeguards" enforcing silly rules at the wave pool.

Pool is great, but you have to get up early and stand in line to get pool chairs. You are not suppose to reserve, but there are guests who do it anyway. Otherwise it was another great stay for us at Mandalay.

people smoked by the elevator and ice vending machine on the Non smoking floors. Why ? put ashtray side by the elevator on Non smoking sign.

The hotel was clean, convenient and comfortable. It felt like we didn't even have to leave the resort because it had everything we needed. They also charged $25.00 a day for use of the hotel amenities - pool, gym etc. I didn't mind that as the pool was why we wanted to stay at this resort. I was however disappointed by the pool. It was too crowded. […] I couldn't find a spot to put down my bag never mind getting a chair. It was very hot and I was imagining swimming down the lazy river. Not a chance! We stayed here during the Easter weekend and had a good time. Check in was fast and friendly, rooms are spacious and tasteful. You get a real deep bathtub and a shower. Nice view from 30th floor. No noise at all. The pool beach was extremely crowded! Felt like anchovies in a can...but without the smell ;-) Nice concierge service, lots of restaurants. […] Fast checkout. We will go back. Beautiful Hotel. Love the decor. food in different restos were pretty good. Loved the szechuan eggplant at the Noodle Shop.

This place is the best. Best for the casino, food, chill spot. This place is the worst for the pool area. If you like to be packed in like sardines in a pool, this place is for you. Way too many people. The starts wrapping around the pool at 8:00 am!!! crazy amount of people. I actually saw 25 people all squished in a hot tub made for only 8 people […] at the most. Tram is very convienent for getting to the strip. I wish they had a few fast food places to eat... got tired of having to take the tram to Excalibur for break/lunch at McD's or Pizza hut or other random spots in there. Lisätietoja

Generally I have gotten great deals on Hotels.com. After spending a great amount of time comparing hotel prices in the Las Vegas area, I was disheartened to find that the extra-person fees (my 2 young children) amounted to doubling the cost of my reservation. We went spring break weekend so we can only blame ourselves. Be prepared to have to line up round the block before 9am to have any chance of getting a lounger or even a spot of concrete to sit on by the pool. Maybe different other times of year. Tix are min $5 for one ride - so I suggest taking it to the farthest point you are going and take your time walking back if you can make it! Bag check - its free! The pools, wave pools and facilites are fantastic. It does get very busy and is difficult to get a lounger. Cabana are great but they start at $500+ a day.

Last minute booking on a Thursday night due to a late flight into Las Vegas McCarran, and enjoyed this hotel more than our week in Hawaii. Room was beautiful - very modern design and immaculate. When we checked in the line was enormous (although it was spring break). It was slow for a while, then they added more staff to check people in. The gentleman who checked me in was very accomodating and nice. The elevators were very slow and there were long waits every time. The room was standard, but one of the queen beds had a stained sheet that […] kept partially coming off the bed. One of the towels we used also had an orange stain on it - both the sheet and towel should have been taken out of circulation. On the day before we left when the valet brought up the car we noticed scratches on the car. We always stay at Mandalay Bay when traveling in Las Vegas with our kids. It is at the very end of the strip- so you are not exposed to all the junk on the strip. It has the best wave pool for older kids- my kids stay in the waves for hours and they love the lazy river too. The Shark reef is a great experience for them too.

Outstanding hotel. Great customer service.

Comfortable and clean guest rooms better than most on the strip for the price. However, if you are looking at convenince to the main part of the Las Vegas Strip then I wouldn't suggest staying here however you can take the tram or cab (for a fee) down the strip but it would be a far walk.

The pool area was great, and the reason we chose this hotel. The room was big and kept well. My only complaint is everything, and I mean everything, costs extra. A lot extra. There is no coffee in the room! There are 21 restaurants within Mandalay Bay, but are quite spendy. I guess that is standard for a resort however.

The Mandalay Bay was a beautiful hotel. Everything from the casino to restaurants, rooms, etc. was top notch. However, we were extremely inconvenienced when we were not able to check into our room until an hour after the check-in time of 3pm. We were told that the room was not ready and would be called when it was. More than an hour later no call was […] received so I called them and they finally had the room ready. $28/day resort charge added when I checked in. What a scam. I was told I had to pay, the paper they gave me said it was for wi-fi, I don't have a computer, print boarding passes, I drove there and morning newspaper, never received. Next time I will stay at Best Western or Holiday Inn where you get what you pay for.

Hotel was great, got a credit to eat in one of their restaurants when we checked in, which pretty much covered our meal the first night. Service was great, was not in the hotel as we were in town for NASCAR race. Kind of far to get to the rest of the strip, but we knew that when we booked. aside from some minor maintance needed to items in the room, for example the bathroom door and the closet doors would not latch and stay shut the rooms and area were first rate, i would stay here again :) and the spring/summer concertsin the beach area wow... nice set up

The hotel was very nice and very close to "The Strip." The only downside was that because we booked through a third-party (hotels.com), we had to pay a "service fee" of $30. We were only there for one night so a $30 service fee seemed a little ridiculous. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

I found the food over priced and not to the level I expected

The Mandalay Bay at a Hotels.com price is a great place to stay - the "resort fee" is a bit much if you cannot enjoy the pool, but since most hotels of this quality are charging $10 - $12 for wi-fi alone and if you can use the pool, it is okay. Mandalay Bay's beach and pool were amazing, and the hotel was really nice. But as a non-smoker the casino kindof sucked because it was really smoky. Also, it is at the END of the strip, so if you want to be in the middle of everything, you're going to be walking. A lot. Last, the room we got, was fairly cheap, and good quality, but it was on the 7th […] floor... which happens to be the only floor thay doesnt have floor to ceiling windows and has decorative "bars"on the windows, which impedes the view greatly. I wish the website would have mentioned THAT, we may have upgraded. Last, they did NOT have the hotels.com vouchers as promised. We felt a little cheated. I loved the room. Very classy and clean. Prices were very reasonable as well.

My favorite hotel on the strip

Mandalay Bay has a very nice atmosphere and aesthetically is a beautiful hotel. However the public bathroom maintenance is poor and the toilet in my room would keep running and not reset after flushing. Maintenance fixed it once but it did it again. Finally, the lady who cleaned my room showed me how to finagle the flushing lever to stop the toilet […] from running. I was only there Friday through Sunday so I put up with it. Lisätietoja

When I booked the room, I made a special not to give us a strip view and we ended up getting a pool view. The pool view wasn't bad, but I believe if it was possible it should have been accommodated. Besides that, the 7th floor is the floor they put me in and of ALL the floors it has the smallest windows. In addition to the small window sizes, they also […] had these large bars in the shape of an x in front of the windows. The 7th floor is the only floor with these small barred windows. I've stayed at the Mandalay Bay before and had a great time. This time it was ridiculously overcrowded and just not a pleasant experience. The line to check in was over 75 people long, the pool area was so crowded that it took us 20 minutes to find 2 lounge chairs for 4 people, they raised minimum bets at the casino from one day to the next, and the […] food and drinks were outrageously overpriced (albeit this was expected). I don't know if all of this was because of spring break, but I would expect a hotel of this size and caliber to be able to accommodate a full capacity no matter what time of year it is without sacrificing service. It seemed to me that in order to get the kind of service one would expect at this fancy hotel (or when it's not as crowded), you had to pay extra for everything: you want a secured spot at the pool? Pay $350 per day for a cabana rental. You want to bring your own food down to the pool so you don't have to pay $9 for a hot dog? Nope, sorry, they'll confiscate it from you at the entrance. You want a view of the strip and not of the airport from your room? Pay more. You want free drinks and a fun time at the casino? Play a high roller table. My wife and I had wanted to try this hotel and so when we found ourselves needing an extra night in Vegas we gave it a try. We were not disappointed with our choice. From check in to check out everything was great. We arrived early (around 10:00 AM) thinking we would check our luggage and head to the strip. At the counter we were told that our room […] was ready! So we dropped everything in the room and headed to the beach. The weather was great, the water nice and the service tops. That night we did a little gambling (winning nothing but not losing too much). The dealer were friendly and a good crowd at the tables. The next morning we checked out early (5:30 AM) and as the cab was leaving I realized that I had left my cell phone in the room. We turned the cab around and hustled back. The girl at the front desk was quick to give me a key and not laugh at me too much. All in this entire place was great. was charged an additional $28 for pool, gym, services i had no intention on using. they said this was mandatory and made my "amazing deal" no so amazing anymore and was misleading

Pros: This is a beautiful and very well kept hotel. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable, with double vanities and separate showers in the bathrooms. Cons: While it's on the strip, it's at the far southern end, which makes for long hauls to the northern or even central attractions. Had a great time at Mandalay. It's a great hotel. Only downside is that it's at the very end of the strip. But since we don't come to walk the strip it's fine for us. The trams help for those who are walking. My only other complaint was that the water for our shower was lukewarm at best. I wanted hotter water! Nevertheless. Would stay here again. Great time at the Mandalay Bay! Staff was great making sure we had adjoining rooms so kids could have a separate room. Shark Reef was well worth the money. The Mandalay beach, lazy river and wave pool were lots of fun for the kids.
