Best Western Regency Plaza Hotel St. Paul / Oakdale - Oakdale

Went to Minneapolis for daughter's softball tournament. Hotel was very comfortable, less than a mile from the location and right off the interstate. Would have been great if it had a pool but otherwise an enjoyable stay.

I thought the hotel was great. The first greeting I got at check in could have been a lot friendlier. The gal was young, she barely looked at me, talked so fast it was hard to understand her and just generally unfriendly for the first person who greets your customer. Great location, very quiet, comfortable, clean rooms. All good EXCEPT the old tube TV that was almost "unwatchable " - fuzzy, blurry, etc. Needs an upgrade in that department.

Excellent hotel and very clean. Will definitely be staying here again.

The hotel facilities were lovely - the room was very nice and comfortable. The staff was helpful in recommending restaurants in the area and so forth. The only drawback is getting in and out of the hotel on the streets, primarily because of medians and no allowance for a left turn into the hotel street from the east. Great location and very clean! The decor was beautiful and the place was very clean. If I have to complain I guess they could add on a pool and a bigger workout center. Thanks!

This hotel was very easy to find. The room was extremely clean. That is all the positives. The lady at the front desk was not friendly and appeared to not enjoy her job. The website advertised a pool and hot tub. There was no pool (the main reason we booked) we were not the only guests who were upset over this and during our stay the website was revamped. […] The hot tub was not hot...it was lukewarm and the jets were broken. The hot tub was absolutely filthy. The room was extremely hot, we had to use the air conditioning (in Feb in MN) to keep it at 70. A comfortable, neat and clean hotel with a buffet breakfast that was not fancy but good and well stocked.

I booked a room over the weekend and it was Easy to find. The location was in a good safe place. The room was clean, everything was nice and clean. Unlike other hotels it was very sound proof, i didn't hear other people in rooms next door or people walking pass the room. The breakfast was also good! Everything was very nice except that it would have been nice to have had a thicker blanket on the bed. It felt like we only had two sheets on top of us. Not very snuggle or warm for a Minnesota winter night.

Only complaint was the breakfast. We came down for breakfast at 9:00, and the breakfast was being served until 10:00. There really wasn't much left. We knew that could be a risk. OK. But they ran out of regular coffee. The girl at the front desk came over to make it, but it seemed to be more than she could handle in her tight short black skirt and her […] high heels. This would be my 1st stay in this hotel and I was disapponted for their service. Their breakfast was 6am-10am, my family got their at 9:30, we got only bread, no susage. Just about 9:50am, the attendants put out the light while some people were eating -- at least 4 tables were occupied by family still eating(date: Fri,December 30, 2011) On saturday, […] I went out at about 11am, the housekeeper in the hallway asked if I was going out and I said YES, but my room was NOT cleaned when I came back. The toilet was blocked all the time, I had to request for a plunger kept in my room permanently because I had to plung each time I went to the bathroom. This was embarrssment for me and my family. Rooms were as described and a great value. Breakfast was a little stale, but what we were expecting after reading other reviews, and not what we were paying for anyway. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and quiet.

The location is great, right off the highway and across from a little shopping plaza. I'm not an early riser so I always missed the continental breakfast but thankfully, there's an IHOP in the shopping plaza. Behind the hotel there's a restaurant and a sports bar. The room is spacious but the toiletries aren't that great. Pack your own soap.

Hotel is nice, but if you smoke put a towel in front of your door. We got a call from the front desk about people complaining about the smoke smell coming from our SMOKING Room. If they don't want smokers in their rooms they should be a smoke free hotel. We also had our window open and our personal fan blowing. Also the fan in the bathroom was on the […] whole time. I stayed and also taught a class at the BW. Hotel seemed new. It's really clean and the staff is very nice and helpful. I had a package of training materials sent ahead of my arrival and it was waiting for me at the front desk when I arrived. Breakfast was good. I was pleasantly surprised overall for the price point. On the downside, the beds were […] not as comfortable as I'm used to (when compared to higher end hotels), but again for the price paid I can't really complain. The hotel lacked some of the technology hookups (power strips, etc) and the projector was absolutely horrible so my client had to bring theirs. It was a shame because decent projectors are not that expensive these days. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and need an all in one for a sleeping and meetings. Although this location was a bit further from attractions than we were used to staying on previous visits to the Twin Cities, this hotel offered a great value for our recent stay. The hotel is relatively new, clean & right off the 694 interstate. Breakfast was more than just sweets. Internet was a bit slow, but worked. I was happy with this location, but it bothered me that the Internet was down for the whole hotel & wouldn't be up til the next day and I want warned about this in advamce. Inhad work I needed to do & no internet was going to be a huge problem. Luckily it was up later that night.

We stay here often. This time we were disappointed in the complimentary breakfast i.e. no decaf coffee, yogurt, or mixed fruit. The treadmill needs a safety key - will not stop automatically. Scary!

The room was very nice and clean. Our room was not far from elevator but didn't hear any noise from it or in the hallways. The breakfast was the standard continental breakfast. Could have been better. Would stay there again. Easy to find and some shopping not far away.

Everything was fine at the hotel until my last night. I left a wake-up call for 5:30 A.M. as I had to catch a plane. There was no call, but I was fortunate enough that I normally rise early, and I almost missed my plane connection. It was not something that I would like to go through again. Other than that I was pleased with my stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were very large, clean and comfortable. Hotel personnel went out of their way to answer any concerns and to make certain we had an enjoyable stay. A walking path adjoins the parking lot of the hotel and restaurants. A great amenity for those who like outside exercise. The breakfast is adequate but could be […] improved with a few additions such as yugort and whole wheat bagels. Exercise room is small and equipment needs some attention. Spa was out of commission over our holiday weekend. If you are a non-smoker, ask for a room on a non-smoking floor as hallways smelled of smoke. Elevators and lobby facilities wonderful. Check-in/out fast. Business center is well equipped and working--great privacy. Close to major interstates made travel to local sites convenient.....be sure to visit Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. Nothing fancy. Breakfast was okay, although no fruit and sausage,biscuit and gravy each day (not healthy). Bed seemed very soft and overworn. Good location, friendly staff, overall clean.

The service was just OK, the "hot breakfast" was a glorified continental breakfast (do not worry though, an IHOP is just across the street) and the spa was closed on a holiday weekend. BUT, the room was very clean, the best was very comfortable and the upkeep of the room was good. We got a good deal, and the stay was well worth the money.
