As the base for a weekend in Cork I found this to be a very friendly hotel in a most convenient location. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable, the staff very welcoming and the hotel bar a useful addition.

The Hotel advertised parking however this was limited not very user friendly.Yet there were approx 15 spaces out the back that guests could not use. This did not make sense.

Great Hotel a few minutes away from the centre of cork.Nice size rooms which were clean and tidy.Reception staff very polite and helpful. All in all a great hotel would recomend to other and would defitinely use again.

Stayed here for one night. Very friendly staff. Very central location. Good breakfast.Very comfortable room. Only problem was very limited parking. We got on-street parking, luckily.

I stayed here for two nights with a friend over the Halloween break. The accomodation was pretty basic: one duvet inside a white cover on the bed: no colourful throws as shown in the hotel brochure: no spare pillows: the floor carpet had black scores: the wind whistled through the top of the window at night: taps in the bathroom were not secure and […] the wash basin was boxed around with hardboard. I did express my views to staff at the front desk who simply said that this used to be an old hospital and that they had spent some money on it. I was not one bit pleased as I had paid good money for this accomodation and I expected better. Car parking was another problem. The only space available was at the front door which could only accomodate a small number of cars, the majority of which seemed to sit there all day. We had to park in a nearby multi story car park and pay to do so. There was a carpark at the back of the hotel but this was closed 'due to an incident the week before' we were told! stayed for two nights, had stayed here before so i knew what to expect. the hotel has the perfect location for the city cener, this is why i keep staying there. the hotel itself is also very welcoming and homely, couldnt fault it in any way. the only downside is the parking which is a nightmare, maybe 20 spaces in front of hotel and these are always […] taken. I thought the staff were good, friendly and mannerly.But the church bells were going every half an hour through out the whole night i just could not believe it and this went on for the 2 nights i was there and also the room was nice and clean but extremely cold.

Hi everyone I would like to share something about the hotel that is that the receptionist people were very nice but the type of cleaning was very bad, they didnt even clean it properly and dont even hover the room and even the dirty glasses, we have to sleep in the dirty room and after my son was sick,he got infection. We came with friends,they feel […] the same. i didnt like one thing that was our first beakfast in the hotel I came downstairs alone,but my hubby and my son were still in the room, when i was choosing something 4 my breakfast then a hotel worker came and she was telling me that i have to pay for the beakfast of my son because it was not included, that day i was so angry because the girl told me about the payment in front of people, she is working in the hotel, she don't know how to talk with customers.Paying is not a problem for the beakfast of my son, but she could also have told me to come at the desk where there was nobody but not infront of people.Maybe she hadn't done the Customer service course that why she dont know how to talk with customers.Better tell her to go and do the course it will be very useful to her and that will not happen again with other customers like me. it was a bit hard to get there at first but then it that is just Corks' roads for you . I knew where they were , i just couldnt get the car there the room was very clean so clean actually that the carpets were still damp , though they did smell nice even if you did get your feet slightly damp from the bed to the bathroom , leaving our feet smelling […] good It feels like an old hotel and we had a nice stay we got some good exercise going up and down the three flights of stairs to report our electronic card wouldnt let us in our room , we could have used the lifts but then the lovely breakfast needed some working off , after the third time down to reception the cleaning lady suddenly had a toolbox and some electronic meter and began fiddling at the door , we dissapeared for an early guinnes in the comfortable bar until the helpful lady retuned our door and came and found us and gave us a new card in the bar . We always usually always stay at the Gresham , we just thought we would give the Maldron a try for a change and even after a nice change of scenery and an overall nice stay , we dont think we will be back . Hotel was fine, get what you pay for but the parking is terrible, have to pay in multi storey. Also quality of breakfeast was very poor, not worth the extra few euros. Very close to town, easy walk in but a slight up-hill walk home, not bad. Dublin Couple Oct 11.

This is an older building with the frustration of only having wifi in the common parts so it is a trek to reception if you need it. There was also no power point near the work table in the room. I also managed to get the room with the air vents outside, so no opening the window. Given above not really a great place for a business traveller but good […] location and value otherwise. hotel food breakfasts good evening and bar food menu poor .rooms clean and commfertable. staff not the best. price ok.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel but had one complaint, which was the lack of any Internet connection in the room (although there was free Wi-Fi in the lobby).

Very confortable & inexpensive. Walking distance from downtown & all attactions. Free parking. No Ac, but we did not need it.

once again realy enjoyed our stay at the maldron, as did the 2 couples we holidayed with, good helpful and friendly staff, great location just a stroll into the centre of cork, parking isn,t great only a limited number of spaces, but don,t let this put you off booking, everything else is very good and is in my opinion great value.

Sorry to say that we were really not happy.... We were sitting in the lobby for 55min to get the check in because room was ready...with to small kids...even though we came after 3.30 oclock because check in start at 2 but still room was not ready...we were given room ard 4.15....and manager was giving us the reason that hotel was over booked and staff […] had no time...etc Lisätietoja

I have never had a worse hotel experience than at this hotel. The first room we checked into had a broken window and we were kindly switched to a 2nd room. The 2nd room had curtains that wouldn't shut as they were broken and several lights that were out but we didn't complain. However, when a loud alarm went off early in the evening we asked to have […] it looked into. It stopped but then woke us twice after midnight. We were told the alarm would continue every time someone on our floor flushed the toilet and there was nothing that could be done until the morning. They were able to switch us to a 3rd room which was a smoking room and next to a very loud couple who clearly were smoking and the smell leaked into our new room. The new room also had 2 twin beds which, considering we were on honeymoon wasn't appreciated. Finally, the 2nd day we were put in a 4th and final room which was clearly an upgrade however the toilet didn't flush properly. The day manager did offer us a small refund for the inconvenience the 1st evening however we couldn't wait to get out of the hotel. I don't recommend this to anyone, for the money we paid and the reputation of the Maldron, we expected a higher standard. Lisätietoja

This hotel was great for the price. It was a quick walk to the city center. Parking was a little tricky, as the lot is very small and street parking can be hard to come by. The rooms were clean and nice.

Stayed here for one night. Had to change rooms due to very putrid smell in first room. Also smell on 5th floor corridor. In need of a coat of paint and a touch-up. Wouldn't take a lot to do it. Parking EXTREMELY tight. Only about 20 spaces. Only plus is the proximity to the City Centre and the bus to the Marquee, which is very reasonably priced. Food […] was OK. Nice bar. The Maldron Shandon Cork. Nice enough Hotel, clean. Fine for one niight stop over. Parking was a nightmare

Great if you like driving as it took about an hour to find a space

Myself and my aunt stayed at the Maldron hotel and first impression was that it is a nice, friendly and clean hotel. The night we arrived, it was really crowded and the car park layout they have at the hotel is very poor and unpractical. There are hardly any spaces in front of the hotel but once you have driven up, there is no way of getting out as […] you can't turn anywhere so you have to reverse all the way out and this becomes almost impossible if you have someone else behind you. The location of the hotel is great, just a 5 min walk to the main shopping street. With regards to our room, I was somewhat disappointed. It was a non-smoking room but still you could smell smoke and the heating was cranked up to the max when we got there and even though we turned it off, it was impossible to sleep that night as it was soooo hot in the room and no aircon or cooling facility in the room. The window could only open a tiny bit so air couldn't really come through properly. The general cleanliness of the room however was great, no complaints there. Lisätietoja

We really enjoyed our stay at the Maldron Hotel in Cork. It is in a central location, it is comfortable, friendly and well priced. The reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We ate in Stir Restaurant and even though there was a hen party and a large party of other people, we were served quickly and the food was really nice and reasonably […] priced. Our room was large, comfortable and warm. The shower was a bit dodgy and not a power shower but we were happy with everything else. Overall we found the hotel to be as advertised. Good value great location nice breakfast great leisure facilities friendly staff. Ok beds : small double and single. Not a king. However we were never advised about the noise in the area. The room was very hot and there was no air conditioning so we had to open the window. Unfortunately every hour on the […] hour and half hour the shandon church bells rang and we ended up getting no sleep. Definitely could not book this hotel again. This hotel was very clean. rooms were very spacious. It is very central to everything. the hotel receptionists were very very helpful...i would highly recommend this hotel and i would use it again.

Good central location....no hot water in bath/shower the following morning though. Rooms clean & comfortable, staff very helpful & polite. Good price, shame about the temperature of water.

Was disappointed to find that the hotel has minimal parking. Should not be advertised as a hotel with parking available. Car park is very small. Receptionist advised us to park on the street where one has to pay or park in a local multistory car park where the hotel has a discounted rate but one still has to pay!

We were in Cork for the weekend and stayed two nights at the Maldron. It is situated in a quiet area behind the Priory and Cathedral. It is a short walk into the centre approx. 10 minutes. There are some excellent shops and a wide variety of restaurants/cafe bars catering for all tastes and budgets. The hotel staff gave good information regarding venues, […] transport etc. and the airport bus stops right outside. The room was very clean and comfortable and very quiet at night. The dining room is light and airy and the buffet breakfast was fresh and hot on both mornings. We stayed for dinner on one evening. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean and the Hotel is situated close enough to Cork City just a short walk across the river.
