The employees are super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was fantastic. The A/C didn't cool that great, but the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. I would definitely recommend this place and stay there again!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Grover Beach. The staff was extremely helpful. We arrived at about noon and asked if we could swim in the pool while waiting for our room and the manager said that would be fine. Our 4 year old daughter loved the pool which was very clean and heated to just the right temperature. The manager […] later came out personally to the pool to tell us that our room was ready -- he took my credit card and gave us our room keys, went back to the office to run the credit card, and came back to return it to me -- all without me even having to leave the pool! The room was immaculate and the air conditioning was already set at a perfect 74 degrees. It is adjustable, of course. The two queen beds were comfortable, each with fitted sheets and a choice of two soft pillows or firm pillows (labeled as such on the pillowcases.) The breakfast buffet was outstanding. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, a choice of 4 different juices, coffee, a variety of cold and hot cereals, fresh fruit, and more. The only problem we had was with the shower. For some reason you could not blend the cold and hot water temperature. It was either completely cold or too hot. We notified the manager, and he took care of it right away and was very apologetic and gracious about it. Soon the shower controls worked just fine. Pismo Beach is one of our favorite vacation spots, and it only took a few minutes to get there from the hotel. The hotel gave us a coupon to use at A.J. Spurs, a steakhouse restaurant which shares the hotel parking lot. We had dinner there and it was wonderful. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel. It was worth the extra money that we spent compared to several cheaper budget motels in the area where we've stayed in the past. It's a lost art these days...customer service. If its not present, then largely its phony. Ever get greeted before you walk through the door because you know it's policy. Then when you ask the person how their day is you get the robotic "I am fine, thank you. Take me to your leader." Anyway, all is the antithesis at the Holiday Inn Express at Grover […] Beach. Sincerely nice people both at the desk and remarkably refreshing, the services group who maintain the rooms and grounds. If they're in good spirits then you know they are well taken care of - and that creates a good feeling. Anyway, the room was clean and updated and beds superbly comfortable. The pool was clean and friendly. Its located right next to a very affordable and solid "AJs" - another friendly joint with hearty food. Rooms are renovated, however the halls and room doors are old. Customer service is good and the breakfast is a good variety. This hotel is located right off the 101.

Great place to stay in the area. Everything was clean and comfy! No bad smells. Complimentary breakfast was awesome and included real scrambled eggs and bacon, biscuits and gravy, and yummy warm cinnamon rolls. Pool area looked beautiful. Very close to Hiway 101 without the noise. Within a couple of miles of Starbucks, K Mart, WalMart and the outlets. Breakfast was excellent!! Hot eggs, biscuits and gravy and pancakes along with the usual "sweets" made it a great start for the day. The only complaint was the iron that would shut itself off in the middle of ironing. I didn't get what I was asked ! I asked for smoke room next to the beach Guess what I got!!! I got non smoking Hotel next to the high way!! I am not gonna call u again and ask for any help

We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was just perfect for my Wife and 2 yr old daughter. It was super comfy, clean, and very quiet! It is right off on the 101 freeway, so it is very easy to find. We were in town to visit friends in Santa Maria, which was just 20 mins south on 101. Also visited Avila Beach which was about 10 mins north on […] 101. This hotel is very close and convenient to everything. It is also located right next to Pismo outlets. We did not eat at AJ Spurs restaurant next door, but just about 1 mile west of the hotel was the main street Grand ave which has just about everything you need to eat. We had Orcutt Burgers for lunch one day. Very very good! And I recommend The Girls for breakfast. Awesome biscuits and gravy! Probably the best I've had! Overall stay was excellent! It was very close to pismo and very clean. The staff was great. If you are going to Pismo Beach I recommend it.

Clean, good value for money, friendly service, everything a Holiday Inn Express should be. It provided a welcome and restful overnight stop en route from San Francisco to LA.

Everything was great with this facility. There were four of us staying in one room and we were all comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well. Such a money saver when traveling with four people. Love the free breakfast.

We stayed there 3 nights while attending to some business and some pleasure. The room was large comfortable and clean. We would stay again. Friends who were in much more expensive places were not any better than this. Used the discount coupon for AJ Spurs next door. Great restaurant, but come hungry.

the hotel was generally fine and well located but we stayed there during a holiday weekend and the housekeeping staff was not prepared. We slept in one day and when we called the desk to have our room made up, they told us they didn't know if they had housekeeping staff available that late even though if was only noon. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. But if you need wireless internet (and they advertise wireless internet in the rooms) you need to stay in the lobby to use your computer. Something I did not want to do after a long car trip. Other issue was related to the small breakfast area. You have no place to seat and a hard way to get to the food. This hotel is very clean and tidy and ideal for a stopover if you are travelling up the coast. The rooms are large and airy with excellent furnishings. Aside from the wonderful service, very nice grounds, and convenient location, my husband and I find the most important thing to be the comfort of the bed and Holiday Inn Express did not disappoint! We have stayed at hotels for more than twice the price who's beds were not nearly as comfortable as this one was! And, we have decided we will ALWAYS stay […] here from now on when we are in this area. Only two things missing in my book for ammenities and they were, no swimming pool (for my grandson) and we could not find ice or vending machines. We stopped here on our way down to southern California. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. The pool area was nice. Cookies were yummy. There was a little construction going on but not an inconvenience. The two buildings of rooms was a little confusing. The hotel met my expectations and the staff was very nice.

This hotel is about 12-15 miles from San Luis Obispo. It is in good condition, has an excellent breakfast, good wifi, and a nice pool. It is about 2 miles from the beach.

Although the hotel itself was just fine, I experienced horrible internet service the whole time I was there. I was not there on vacation, but working, and I had to go to a local coffee shop that had an internet hotspot to be able to complete my work tasks on the computer. If I had had the option, I would have moved to another hotel because of this, […] but since i had prepaid, I couldn't. This is of utmost importance to me when traveling for work. My stay at the Grover Beach Holiday Inn Express exceeded all my expectaion. The room was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very polite and informative. My only complaint was the breakfast was a little to plain. Powdered eggs are not my favorite. All in all i will most like stay there again on my next visit.

Older but yet fairly well maintained hotel. Floors are a little creaky, but it's a clean and comfortable hotel. Staff is very accomodating. Breakfast buffet was hot and delicious. No complaints. Good value for your money.

I stay here about every two weeks. Nice place. It's an older hotel, but fairly well maintained. It's away from the freeway and very quiet. The rooms are large and spacious. Two sinks. Small refrigerator, but no microwave oven. Three stories. Two guest room buildings, not including the lobby and breakfast room building. The best thing about this hotel was being close to route 1 but not near anywhere except for the bar/ restaurant across the road. Our room was in the block at the back and as we were downstairs was quite dark. Patio door was not secure but hotel staff were not interested. Breakfast was not good and crowded with car enthusiasts booked in in numbers.

I always stay at this hotel when I am in the area. Clean, comfortable and good amenities.

The Holiday Inn is just off the freeway, but not noisy. The breakfast is a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. It is a great way to start the day.

My friends and I went to Pismo Dunes for my birthday. We took 3 truck loads and stayed at the Holiday Inn Exp. At check in, the staff were really nice, they said hello and handed me a cold bottle of water and proceeded with the check in. I asked them since we had a large group of us checking in at different times, if it was possible to have our rooms […] near each other. They told us they would try to fulfill those wishes, in which they did. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable and they had hot breakfast in the morning. Parking wasn’t too much of an issue and the hotel sits away from the street, so if you have toys you don’t have to worry about parts being taken by someone walking by. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful! We really appreciated how quiet it was at night - we slept great. We had two complaints: the air conditioner created "snow" all over the front of it and we turned it off to melt it, then it spit ice at us when we turned it back on; we received NO maid service during our stay - it was […] probably an oversight, but unprofessional none the less. This hotel was a good value for the money. The rooms are roomy and clean. They offer a good full breakfast with eggs, bacon, ceral, muffins, coffee and juices. Wow that is just a plus in any hotel. Very easy access to the freeway.
