Idid not get a wink of sleep due to the shouting from the room next door. At half past 3 I complained to reception. The internet access worked for less than 5 minutes. I have complained but had no respone. The young man on reception was very pleasant and a credit to the company, his manager should treat him better.

A very comfortable and good value base for exploring historic Canterbury and surrounding area. The bathroom design, using one door to be both the door into the bathroom and also doubling as the door to the toilet, is the cleverest I have seen, thus not having to have two doors but still isolating the toilet. Won't be back - sleeping on plastic-lined sheet is not comfortable! Also, layout of breakfast area is a bit utilitarian - dining in rows!

Initially drove past the hotel as the signage was not clear and they have obviously changed the entrance into the parking area as our SatNav was confused. Although the hotel is situated on a very busy route, the soundproofing was excellent and we enjoyed a quiet undisturbed night. The staff were excellent and were able to provide an iron to press/freshen […] clothing we had brought for a wedding the next day. The breakfast was also very good. The only negative that I can recollect was that the bed was a double not a king size and the second bed for our two children was a sofa bed with a very thin mattress. ideal location to explore the nearby towns of canterbury and maidstone. rooms are comfortable and ok. breakfast generally is good, although can be busy. prices for the alcohol are high.

For a one night stay with our two children in the same room plus breakfast this hotel was outstanding value. Everything you would expect from a standard hotel. Very pleased with the choice. £10 Taxi into Canterbury each way.

For the price you really couldn't fault it. Even the breakfast was surprising since it was advertised as a continental. We received a hearty breakfast just short of a full English alongside cereals, fruit, and pastries. The room was fine for a short stay and very convenient location. Decent Clean hotel for the price although taxi into town £15-20 and reckon I got stomach ache from the breakfast sausages

I used this hotel for a visit to Kent Uni with my spouse and son. The location was excellent, being close to Canterbury and surrounding attractions. We really enjoyed our short stay for two nights. We found the staff to be very polite and extremely accommodating. Special thanks to the chief for the curry night. Went down a treat !!! Will most definitely stay again.

Located just off the motorway, clean, good breakfast, efficient and friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel to others and will stay again on my next visit to the Canterbury area.

It was overall a good experience. Not a bad drive to Canterbury central but coming back is is bit of a pain as you have to drive past it and then turn around at the next junction. Very clean and comfortable room and staff where polite and helpful. Breakfast was ok but when you book for a night away would be nice to have a lie in so would suggest extending […] breakfast time until maybe 10? We stayed on New Year's Eve. Convenient drive for Canterbury and Herne Bay. Staff very friendly and efficient. Complimentary buffet breakfast excellent. Very comfortable bed, thoughtfully furnished room with plenty of space for storage, sitting and working. And very reasonable price

Just outside city, easy access, clean modern style (as all HI Express hotels). Excellent value with hot/buffet breakfast. Excellent value as out of town.

The staff were very friendly and the room was neat and clean. We were not really impressed with the food served at dinner. My husband had the chicken curry which was more like a chicken stew / little curry taste. I selected the hamburger which was aweful. The actual meat of the hamburger smelt strange. Spotless and well decorated hotel. Rooms very well appointed although internet connection too slow for streaming. Big problem was low level of lighting in bedroon. Impossible to read there so had to read documents in well lit bathroom making the hotel unsuited for business travellers. Check in glacially slow.

Although not the easiest location to get to on the dual carriageway A2 outside Canterbury, this hotel was exactly what we needed. Cheap, clean, good breakfast and great fun trying to work out how to turn the uplighter on! I thought it was excellent value and woud certainly use it again if I was in Kent.

Considering this was cheaper than a lot of hotels I've stayed in recently, I was pleasantly surprised when I eventually got there. I say 'eventually' because I drove past it first time and had to drive another 4 miles to get back there as it's on a main dual carriageway. Good location,clean and friendly.For newcomers however a large sign near the petrol station on the A2 advertising the Hotel would help considerably.

Staff friendly, clean room, go to breakfast as early as you can it gets crowded.

Signage to this hotel is very poor. Driving south on the A2 there is no advance warning that you are approaching the hotel. As you pass the Service Area you realise you have driven past it. Not good. It is a long route to then get back to the hotel. Room OK but very old analogue TV still with only 5 channels! What will happen when the analogue signals […] are turned off? Morning breakfast can be very chaotic. Everything you need is there but all in the wrong order. Glasses & mugs are the wrong side of the juice & coffee machines, you need three hands to serve yourself any hot food as there is nowhere to put a plate down. Nice enough standard Holiday Inn Express - very helpful and freindly staff - breakfast more than adequate - and all at a decent price. Only downside being where it is...and if you miss it heading East (as I did) it's a pain to get back to...unless you drive down the motorway the wrong way... ;P

We were worried at first when we saw the position of the hotel on the busy A2, but it turned out to be fine after we worked out the access to it from Canterbury city centre. The hotel was very clean modern and comfortable. Having breakfast included in the price was a bonus

The hotel was a great value. Rooms laid out extremely well. Just off the motor way, but value and room layout make up for it. A great place to stay for a quick visit to Canterbury cathedral and town. Only complain, the buffet breakfast was Okay, but the sausage served was a horrible fake product--not edible.

Very convenient for our short stay, this hotel met all our requirements. We have used Holiday Inn extensively over the years because of its consistent values and quality. Room was clean, comfy and all we expected. Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very helpful. We were off to the ferry at Dover the next day and the journey given the location […] of the hotel was quick and easy. Breakfast was not an extensive affair but everything was hot/fresh where applicable and the selection on offer was enough to satisfy most palates. All in all another win for holiday Inn in our book! This was a very clean, friendly hotel, not too far from Canterbury and other main attractions. The hotel room was very clean and ample size for 2 adults and a 17 year old. Included in the price was the continental breakfast which was very nice although gets very busy for a small area. My only complaint was the hotel is not very easy to get to from Canterbury […] you had to know where you were going and coming off the A2 from the other directionyou would miss it if you didnt know it was next to the petrol station. Difficult to find at first as you go zooming past it, had to turn off & go around again, signage not very good. Once we got into the hotel it was very nice, clean & comfortable with an excellent buffet breakfast included in the price. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very good value compared to others in Canterbury. The staff were friendly, the meal in the restaurant was surprisingly good and the room was comfortable and very cleverly designed - particularly the door into the bathroom, serving two purposes with one door which saves space and gives the toilet privacy within the same bathroom. Excellent place to stay - we had a family room which was very comfortable, and definitely a cut above the other budget hotel chains. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. For a one night stay it was a great location for Whitstable and Canterbury. We would really recommend it.

I was thouroughly satisfied with my stay at the Holiday Inn express Canterburry, we stayed there as a "stop off" to break up the long drive from Worcestershire to Bruges in Belgium. I traveled with My wife, my 1 year old son & my Mother, so we booked a family room. This was basic clean & just about big enough. The fold out sofa bed could have been […] a little better upholstered as the springs were very obvious through the mattress. I put this down to it being a temporary bed rather than being in a bad state of repair and it served its purpose for the 1 night. We always travel to Bruges via the eurotunel & had always fancied a visit to Canterbury so we chose this hotel as it had a low rate of with a fairly nominal charge for a 3rd adult for an extra adult & was close enough to pop into Canterbury to see what the place looked like (Lovely by the way, it needed a lot longer to fully do it justice) whilst also being fairly convenient for the eurotunnel terminal. Good points: Good Value Clean Bright Comfortable Friendly Staff Complimentary breakfast Complimentary Tea & Coffee Bad points Next to busy road no amenities near by apart from a Texaco garage & greasy spoon diner. Not very close to Canterbury itself (which is beautiful & deserves a longer stay) A little characterless The entrance to the hotel (although signposted) is completely invisible from the road, you have to actually drive through the forecourt of the Texaco garage to gain entrance. Our only small complaint about this hotel is the poor signage for their location (this is not a problem caused by Holiday Inn but by the local authorities). Be sure that you have paid attention to the fact that the hotel is accessed through a service station, should you miss the turn it is a few miles to reverse direction, other than that everything […] was fine. The staff were very helpful and polite and the room was bigger than expected. As a stop off this is one of the better travel type hotels i've stayed in. Inclusive in the cost is a breakfast which was very good and free wifi, both of which would be extra charge in other cheap motorway hotels. we also managed to get food at around 9 oclock at night. My friend and I actually booked into the Holiday Inn Express Canterbury as we were visiting the Whitstable Oyster festival, and all the Whitstable B&B's/hotels were fully booked. I was really pleasantly surprised when we got there. The rooms were comfortable, the shower was great, and the service provided by the staff was excellent. The only negative […] comment I have is that breakfast on Sunday morning was a bit of a 'bun fight' and many things had run out or had not been replaced quickly enough. Thanks to the review that stated turn off at the Texaco station to get to entrance of hotel as otherwise we would have passed it and would have had to travel a long distance to get back again. It is excellent as motel: close to main attractions, on main road, nice and very friendly services, good breakfast, everything you need in a room, free internet. But this hotel does not have any sport facilities or walking tracks nearby. Overall this motel is excellent value for money, we enjoyed stay there.
