"Not as good as they think they are"
While a premier hotel in many senses of the word, service is not up to international standards. Examples: arriving in time but five minutes before breakfast was over, the unsmiling hostess informed me that breakfast was almost over and seated me reluctantly although people continued to arrive and service continued for nearly an hour as I discovered […] was the case every morning. Even with numerous servers walking around the restaurant, coffee was almost never offered and had to be requested. Request for help in shipping purchases back home was met with "this is not possible" until a complaint to the manager resulted in an abundance of assistance. "I think the best in Nairobi"
Actually I don't like to write reviews only with excellent rating but this hotel was very pleasant. I was there in february 2012 after a week of safari. Friendly staff, very good restaurant and other infrastructure like spa center, gym, pool - every thing was perfect. Lived before in several another 5* hotels in Nairobi but Sarova was the best!

An older classic hotel in a bustling city. Service was outstanding and we felt very secure. Restaurants and breakfast buffet were great. This was my second visit within 8 weeks, I was there some nights and I was still satisfied. Secure, good service, friendly stuff, always helpful. I will come again.

We spent a night at tje Sarpva Stanley between flights from Zanzibar and Heathrow Airport. Our room was quite large, very clean and nicely appointed. The Stanley is a well known historic gem with charm and character unique to old-world expectation. The staff is very friendly and every expectation was well met. Food service was a bit slow, but this is Africa where we are all taught to learn the value of the moment. Food service is available 24hours and the quality was excellent.
