They were preparing for the hotel to get a very much needed updates.

great hotel for the price, staff were great, very reasonable rate, clean and comfortable.Only drawback was the noisy room ac unit. Bob

I realize this is in the middle of a city, but was disappointed there was not a restaurant or even a grocery store within walking distance. It was clean, and it's always great to have a little kitchen, but I'm not sure I'd choose that location again.

This was the 4th year we've stayed at this hotel when we were in town for a competition. I'm sure we'll stay there again next year. We love having the full kitchen and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Beginning to show extreme wear and tear. Toilet wobbled when sat upon. Dust looking like Spanish Moss hanging from the sprinkler heads of the fire suppression system. Kitchenette faucet leaked onto counter top. This was a mild frustration as I was only staying one night. For an extended stay I would be highly dissatisfied.

A nice hotel, by no means a flea bag. However you can see it is starting to go downhill. Showerhead has tons of mineral build up, the caulk around the tub is dissappearing. My biggest complaint was that the thermostat was not working. I had read that in another review about this hotel, but I thought what are the chances. No remote for the TV in the […] bedroom either. The lady put us in a room that belonged to someone else and we walked in and we had put our stuff down and realized something wasn't right so we immediatley left but were so glad the other people didn't walk in on us. The toilet didn't work in the room they did give us and the curtains wouldn't shut so we had to deal with an open curtain all night on […] the first floor. Not a good place to stay. Lisätietoja

The hotel wasn't the nicest and wasn't particularly convenient to restaurants, but it was very close to our training and was good for the price. If we had been staying for a while, the kitchen would have been very useful.

The hotel had a bad odor and our room smelled terrible. I dropped by the local CVS to buy air freshner and sprayer all night to lessen the smell - no can do. We only stayed one night, but would not stay again unless I had absolutely no where else to rest my head.

I was completely caught off guard by how nice this hotel was. I had the lowest level room offered, and it had a living room / kitchen area, plus a bedroom (literally a separate bedroom) and a nice bathroom. The only downside is the location is a little difficult to find.

It is a good hotel for the price. It do recommend it any day anytime. The rooms are not cleaned everyday but once a week. You pay $5 per day for daily cleaning.

Pro: Hotel was ok - clean, and fairly comfortable. Price was good. Also one great feature was that they provided movies to play in room - If the remote had worked it would have been even better :) Cons: TV remote did not work so you could not pause unless you got up and did it manually. Bathroom sink had been "refinished" and was peeling around the […] faucet. Air conditioner was VERY loud but worked and there was a slightly musty smell covered up by air spray. I had to move rooms because the first one smelled TOO bad to be in. The second was better but still had an odor. All in all, it was acceptable for a short stay (2 nights). We were looking for an affordable room close to downtown Houston for an MMA event we were attending. The hotel was easy to find, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean and in good condition. I would stay here again.

As soon as you walk in you can smell a horrible odor. The room had a foul odor as well and the room was not clean. I would not recommend this room to anyone.

My recent 3 day stay at Candlewood Suites greatly exceeded by expectations. The staff was very helpful, cheerful and accommodating. I was impressed with the hotel's facilities, cleanliness and the location was great. I have had some large suite hotels that were not this comfortable. very nice

Hotel is very accommodating and easy access from 610S and 59W. In a convenient location and very quiet. Multiple exit points to and from the hotel. Watch out for the towels, they were a bit tough on the skin...not very soft, but otherwise a nice experience.

The hotel looks very nice on the outside but the rooms needed some improvements. The toilet will not flush all the time. There were some scratches on the sink that make you wonder if they could be fixed or replaced. The room was small but it was good for the price, considering that it was very easy to get to the galleria area.

The hotel smells terrible and the room even worse! I never saw anybody and there was nobody to call when my toilet was clogged.

Not a lot of frills but very clean room, well maintained with exceptionally friendly staff.

This hotel is very very clean and comfortable! Excellent customer service and the location is very convenient if your gonna be all around the Houston area! It was the perfect place to stay for my vacation!

I will definitely consider Candlewood in other cities now....

There was something smelling kind of bad in the room, maybe they have problems with damage due to damp.
