I have stayed here multiple times, for business and for leisure. I have always had a wonderful experience at the Candlewood--the location is a little bit secluded, so it is always nice and quiet, but it is still very conveniently located near grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always super clean […] and spacious. Plus the beds are soooo comfortable! Whenever I am in Irvine or the OC area, this is my go-to place--it's reliable, relaxing, and I look forward to it as a retreat after a long and busy day. This hotel had a recent renovation. I was amazed when I first walk in the hotel. I felt like I walk into a 5 star hotel. Everything looks new even the bed was very soft. I can't wait for my next stay this is a must stay. You get more for your dollars

perfect for my needs.

The hotel has only one street sign facing west if you come off of I5 it is difficult to find. It is behind the medical facility. The staff only cleans the room once a week, if you stay < a week you must change towels & bedding yourself. Only problem is front desk is open only a few hours a day. A wonderful Sand Canyon walking/running/biking trail right next to the hotel.

It is close to where I was working (business trip) and for one night it was fine. My usual choices had no availability or their prices had doubled (literally) because it is summer. Convenience trumped all and everyone in guest service was friendly and helpful.

It was fine for what we needed - one night. It was not luxary at all but for about a 10 hour stay, it was fine. The front desk guy was nice and went out of his way to make sure we were ok.

Very nice accomodations. Wonderful FREE laundry and very nice honor system snack bar.

i am not sure how much this is the fault of this hotel or Hotels.com,but we requested a non-smoking room and ended up in a smoking room. The reviews on this hotel were great, but must have been written by the hotel itself. It is a just a little over a Super 8 or Days Inn quality. The bed looked like I made it. Just a little note for finding the hotel easy, the hotel is not right at the side of Sand Canyon, you need to enter the drive way between the hospital and another building. I stayed for one night. In general I liked the experience. The staff was nice. If you get a little suite with no bedroom, make sure that you are not sensitive to the sound of the […] refrigerator. There are some vending machines with sandwiches, milk, juice, etc. and also cookies, crackers and coffee. So if you don't want to get out of the hotel for a night you can survive on that. There is also a gym room if you are so zealous about exercising in your vacation or business trip ! If you get out of hotel in about a mile away next to Alton way, there is a shopping center with Starbucks, resturants, CVS and so on, and that is convenient too. Lisätietoja

We had never stayed at this chain before but we will gladly do so again. Very pleasantly surprised by quality of bed, cleanliness of hotel and the hotel facilities. Loved the "honor system" room with supplies and food items to purchase 24x7.

It was what I expected. I'd stay here again.

Not the best location - Irvine is very spread out though so not many hotels would be in a "good" location. The hotel staff are very nice and the facilities good - everything you would need to survive a few days like TV, free internet, a gym, free laundry, and food to purchase. No alcohol though, so if you want a beer you need to buy your own!

I couldn't have been more pleased with this hotel. The room had almost a full kitchen, and the room was spotless. I reserved a smoking room, but I think they gave me a non-smoking because there was no stale odors like usual in smoking rooms. It was quiet and very comfortable. I could live there! This is a hotel for business travelers only. would not recommend for anthing else. i think there is better value in other stays within the area. Walls were paper thin. I did not enjoy my stay at all. First, it is located behind a hospital... no big deal, except it is very difficult to find. Bad signage on the road, and the turn was challenging to find at night, even AFTER I checked in. But where Candlewood Suites loses me is their rooms. I booked a "Standard Suite". Thinking it would be similar to other "Suite" type […] hotels, I mean, it's Candlewood Suites, right? Instead, I found what felt like a college dorm room with TWIN BEDS!!! Yes, 3 feet wide, twin beds. Are you kidding me? The carpet was not padded, again feeling like I was back in college, and I continually found hair (from someone else) on my alledged clean towels and pillow. Now, the price was a bit less than other places nearby, but next time I'll pay for a clean, comfortable room. This was not. Lisätietoja

This hotel has seen better days. The rooms include a small kitchen, but our room had only one spoon, one knife and two of the other basic plates, cups and glasses. The carpeting is worn and appeared to have suffered some water damage near the refrigerator. The bed sagged into the middle and there's no way it was queen sized. Housekeeping is limited […] to once a week but linens may be exchanged at the front desk at any time. The room included a recliner that was located in the corner, next to the bed. This caused it to be quite awkward to get out of one side of the bed. A small convenience store is located on the first floor in the laundry/exercise room (laundry machines are free). Best stay this month. I even received a free upgrade.

This spot is tucked away off of Sand Cyn, but it is clean and the rooms provide all the basics for a good hotel stay.

The room was very clean, staff was helpful, we had everything we needed.

Clean and comfortable, but if you don't have a car, there isn't much around! If you are looking for convenient to 5 and 405 merge, then its a good deal.

The hotel was just OK! nothing bad, but nothing exceptional. The bed was very noisy and the mattress was not so good. We experienced too much noise from upstaires, they we were jumping , running... up there. The room was clean, and the location was good and it was close to 405 HWY. I was in Irvine overnight for a conference and I chose this hotel because it was close to the conference location. The hotel is clean and the suite that I was assigned was comfortable. On the upside there was a full refrigerator and a functional mini kitchen (you won't be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner, but you could put together a meal there). In […] addition, there was a nice workspace and the bed was comfortable. The room was a bit packed with furniture - it would be hard for another person to get into the queen-sized bed because it was almost next to a wall - but it worked for one person. On the downside, the toilet leaked continuously - since I was only there overnight and I just closed the bathroom door and dealt with the problem that way. The hotel has no pool which would have been welcome on the perfect Orange County day that I was there. The hotel looks like its in the middle of nowhere, but that's just the way the suburban sprawl of Orange County is. If you drive a mile or so, you can find restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Overall, I would say my experience was good and I found to hotel to be a good value for the money. What I liked most was the kitchen! Super if you want to make your own breakfast (a grocery store is nearby).

The hotel is very clean. The rooms have a full sized fridge, full stove, microwave, vhs/dvd player, etc. Feels like a small cabin. I liked it. The only problem is the noisy A/C. I just had a last minute trip and needed somewhere just to lay my head and take a shower. For the price and location I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk representative was very courteous and went above and beyond expectations for one of my requests.

very spacious. lots of closet room. large bathroom. you really could live here comfortably. it has everything you need.

Arrived late at night. Toilet would leak every time you would flush it. Reported and was fixed. Did it again the next day. Ants in the sink, crawling on the the wall. They came that same night and sprayed. Next day they cleaned that area. They did offer to move me to another room but I said no. The hotel is situated in a good location and close to restaurants and shopping centers. It has a small kitchen which is great if you want to buy your own food and save money by not eating out. I really enjoyed the location of the hotel, it was off the main drag with a homestyle feeling. I was there for a number of days through a weekend, and never lost a night of sleep because of party noise.
