booked the deluxe room , hotel wing. nothing works (fridge, phone, kettle) beds are lumpy and sinking in the middle. power points does not work. balcony sliding door couldn't be locked. Only thing that works is the toilets which i believe have just recenty been upgraded. far from town center -15 mins walk. swimming pool is really a hole in the ground […] with a tin roof overhead! no joke. If all you are looking for is a place to crash, this is adequate and decent value. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable but the room was clean and the staff was helpful.

The hotel is well situated on the edge of Te Anau - very easy access from the state highway, but well away from any traffic noise. It is a good walk to the lakeside or shops; a car is probably better. Our room was basic but pleasant, with a comfortable bed. It suited us & we would be quite happy to stay there again.

This motel is located in TeAnau and is about half way between Milford and Doubtful sounds. It has beautiful flowers on the grounds, but it is generally outdated. We paid for the wifi service, but in the room it did not connect, so the very nice receptionist moved us to a different room, saying that the wifi usually works OK in the first room, but always […] works in the second location, and she was correct. The room was very clean, and had all the TV, stove-top, microwave, sink, dishes, fridge, etc and everything worked fine. We checked into a Studio Hotel Room on our way to Milford Sound...in Jan 2012.. We were surprised to learn that the room did not have any Air conditioning ... It was a really hot day and it remained that way till 3am in the morning..i would avoid this Hotel at all costs...also it's away from the village center..And the room service is quite expensive..the […] mattress was also very springy and quite in confortable.. It's an older motel a short drive fro the town. Loved the cider block walls... didn't hear a thing from the neighbors.

Rooms: Beware of the "studios": We had booked a "Studio Deluxe" with lake view for three persons and initially received a tiny room with only one queen sized bed. We were then changed to a 3-persons "Deluxe Studio" (without lake view) in which the only "deluxe" was the expensively refurbished bathroom - but the room was so tiny that we would not have […] had space to place ONE of our bags to the floor - far too small for three persons (no cabinets, no shelves, just three hangers at the door!). Except from that the room was smelling badly for bug killer. After our complain we got an Executive suite without extra payment (Queens bed plus single bed) which was suitable in size for our family and also had cabinets. Again the bathroom was new and expensively outfitted, the main room had 1980ies furniture but a large flat screen TV and nice bed ware. Service: The reception service was very good but the room service was bad. Rooms were prepared quite late in the afternoon. The children's bed was not made up for the first 4 nights that we stayed. The room was not vacuumed once during our entire stay of 5 nights which obviously showed after two days already. Facilities: The entire common in-door and outdoor facilities (especially the pool and spa area!) make an outworn 1970ies, 1980ies impression. The hotel has seen far better times and would need much more refurbishing than installing new bathrooms and flat screen TVs. Location: As we have seen, Fiordland Hotel and Motel is one of the most distant accommodations from the lake and from the town centre that you can book in Te Anau. Lisätietoja

The staff was amazing both in reception and cleaners, the later even showed us around the hotel at arrival. Overall very good value for the money, we wiill come back.

You'll notice the horrible color scheme upon entering the room. This doesn't affect the stay in any way, it's just kind of funny. It looks like someone put mustard into a paint sprayer and went crazy on the room. The beds are comfy, and it's a short walk down to the city. It's a nice place to stay.

We had a very pleasant experience in Fiordland. Our room was large and very convenient. We had a kitchenette and excellent other equimpments. The service was immediate and friendly.

We have been traveling about month around NZ and this week was definitely the best. The rooms have gone thru renovation so everything was new and still with suitable price for us. The Hotel has best view of the town to the mountains and we actually had change to get known the people Mal and Liz a bit, who run the place. They were such a nice people […] with a good heart! We are never going to forget our visit to Milford Sounds, if you have time to do it, you definitely should (Doubtful Sounds was nice but not that exiting). We definitely recommend! Lisätietoja

This hotel is an oversized lodge that looks like it had its heyday many years ago, but it's still in excellent condition (the rooms look much nicer inside than the hotel does outside). I stayed during a peak time and it was still relatively empty. There are amazing views from the rooms of the lake and mountains, the room was clean and tidy, and the […] staff incredibly friendly and helpful. This was an older building, but very clean and roomy. The heat wasn't the best and it was cold outside (and inside!) The office was only staffed for part of the day, so we couldn't ask anyone about the heat (we were gone most of the day, didn't return until evenings)They need to have an obvious place to put your key if you're checking out before the […] office is open - or at least have instructions on what they expect for early morning check-out. We stayed in the motel section of the Fiordland and it was an extremely basic motel. It was essentially a demountable shed from the outside, although the inside was comfortable enough. The room was clean and had the basic amenities (although the tv was extremely small and a bit fuzzy). Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. We couldn't access […] internet and reception was only open until 6pm, although apparently one could access internet from there. The pool and hot tub were quite dingy and not at all how they appear on the picture. We did use the hot tub and it was ok, but not of the highest quality. Overall, the accommodation is comfortable enough and clean. It is very basic accommodation and a pretty decent price. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head at night without any of the extras at a good price, then this place will suit. The room, a family suite, we had was spacious, having a large room with a television, two bedrooms, and a well appointed kitchen. The bathroom was large and had a nice shower with a stainless steel floor. Even though our first impression was that it was old and outdated, it was an extremely nice place to stay.

When we pulled into the hotel's driveway my heart sank. The compound looked old and tired, more 'motel' than 'hotel' in any sense. However our hotel room was surprisingly pretty and new. Everything was sparkling clean, neat and in place, reminiscent of 5 star hotels. The room must have been newly renovated. Had a restful night of sleep - Te Anau does […] not have heavy traffic anyway. No complaints about the stay - just a shame about the exterior! I would recommend staying here- Note: I stayed in the Hotel room, not Motel- if you looking for some budget accommodation. Service is good and cheery. We did not try the indoor pools or spa pools - looked a bit run down in my opinion - and the location of the hotel is a tad far from the town centre, about 3 mins drive. Reasonable room with all ammenities,including clean communal kitchen,some outdoor chairs would be a good idea as there is a grassy area to sit outside your patio doors.

We were only staying one night and chose a standard basic room, confortable but in need of some cosmetic repairs, would go for a higher star rating next time

We stayed in a regency room for 3 which had recently beeen refurbished. V comfortable, plenty of power points and divide between thge double and the single bed. 15 mins to town centre. Good to be able to use the separate communal kitchen to make breakfast and cook an evening meal as we were trying to travel cheaply.

The personnel were very friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about the Milford Sound attractions and their recommendations were right on target. The remodeled room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant and bar had very limited hours so it was difficult to utilize them, but TeAnau town center was so close that it was a better option  […] anyway. Lisätietoja

Very good value for money. Even though only 2 star rating, it had everything we needed, including a heated spa, which we had private access to. While the rooms are a bit older, it was very comfortable and clean. Everything including the town centre, was in easy access to the hotel, which was a lot cheaper than staying in Milford Sound itself, and there […] was plenty to see and do around the area. It was like staying in a prison block. Horribly uncomfortable bed, disgusting bathroom.

We appreciated the kitchenette attached to the room. It was quiet and convenient to go on to the Milford sound.

Stayed in en-suite room no complaints in any department!

We stayed for three nights in a newly refurbished "Regency room." The room was comfortable and well furnished. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions, recommending restaurants, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a family unit close to the town centre which was great as the girls could bike to the centre and all around. The unit was spacious and clean. Was great having two bedrooms plus a living area and full kitchen facilities. Was also a nice quiet spot. Would love to see outside play equipment for children. Would recommend to others.

We booked a family unit and while it was a bit odd to check-in and be handed a map to another building we needed to drive to, the room was quite nice. It was a two bedroom aparment much like my college apartment: sparsely furnished, cinder block walls, but big with a modest kitchenette. 繁華街からは離れているので、レンタカーを利用していない人には不便かもしれません。 キッチンのない補の部屋に泊まりましたが、それでも十分に広く、荷物を広げたりするのにも困りませんでした。 窓の外は芝生になっているので、裸足で外へ出て星空を肴にワインなんて事もできます。 価格以上の利用価値はあると思いますので、レンタカー利用の方には是非おすすめします。

Lidt nedslidt motel , men rent og pænt

Motellet var ungefär som motell brukar vara. Man för vad man betalar för - men inget extra. Rummen med bergsutsikt, hade bergsutsikt men den var inte så fantastisk. Det som var bra med de rummen var att de låg lite mer i utkanten. Bra att kunna parkera alldeles utanför rummet. Hotellet har en gasgrill man kan låne, kvit og frit. Til gengæld er fælleskøkkenet noget sparsomt udstyret. Bl.a. er der er ikke nok middagstallerkner, og pladsen til madlavning er meget trang. Hotellet ligger godt som udgangspunkt for en tur på Doubtful Sound. Der er adgang til computer med internet og møntindkast.

Everything available for a functional stay in Te Anau. Don't expect too much comfort, but that comes with the price/quality rate. The center of Te Anau is 15 minutes walking, supermarkets, internet cafes, laundry service and restaurants are adequate available.
